Diary of the mentor ch17 Cousin pt3.

With sixth months until cyptic season luacs began to cultivate like a madman.he knew he had to break through to the second stage before he officially began his duty as an awakeners. It wasnt out of pride but our of survival.

Sure stage one individual could become awakener but most end up death not even lasting a mouth in that job.

As he was now he wans't really to die.

He will only accept death after he had found his sister so even if it meant losing losts of sleep he give it up to cultivate.

"Is he one of those cultivating fanatics like the Marshal in Hosu?"

It's been a week since Ren arrived in the Mansion. Whiles the residence was foreign to him, its inhabitants except Lucas where not. The siegharts where his distance relative's and he had learnt to socialize with them with he was child unlike Lucas who had been adopted into the family four year ago.

He knew bits and pieces about the vampire like how he was extremely skill in combat and had been trained by a transcendent but that was about it.

So watching him cultivate in the yard with a stern look expressed on his face he could help but inquired from Alicia who stood a distance from him.

"He can't breakthrough." She replied a sad look on her hazel eyes.

"How long?"

" Almost a year and a half!"

"Damnnnn....."

Ren stared at luacs with pity.

The most challenging part of cultivation was the assimilation of mana in the air but rather breakthrough or core refinement by most.

The process usually involves compress the already existing core and finally forming a new shell with mana from the surrounding.

Well that was for the first four stages after the saint stage it requires a whole new method.

"Could it be a mental blockage?"

Alicia had informed him luacs efficiency for mana was relatively above average so he didn't think it was mana efficiency so ruling out that possiblity or mental blockage came to mind.

"Sometimes an individuals mental health can stunt their potential..or something like that!"

"That was the conclusion I and my sister came up with but..." She paused and sileny observed luacs," no matter how we tried we couldn't identify which part of his mentality was affecting him. His past wans't the best but he had gone over it years back and whiles I do know he had a sister he wished to see, I didn't feel its that either!"

"I see."

Raising his holding his chin underneath his right hand, he continued observing laucas as his green eyes let out a faint glow.

"Alicia..." He called.

"Yes....."

Averting her gaze from Lucas she answered.

"Might I asked about you relationship with the vamp...I mean luacs!"

"Well..."

Alicia stopped, stared at Lucas absent mindly and finally replied with a sad smile:

"We used to be rivals."

Judging by her grim smile, Ren presumed something might have transpired to end that relationship. He was curious but for now he chose not to ask about it.

"Anything else?"

"His my best friend."

"Is that all?"

"His also my only friend."

"I see."

He guessed there was more but he decided to leave that for later. As for now he just needed their basic relationship.

"Rival, friends....a second stage and a first stage!'

Linking the necessary information, he continued observing luacs to he finally realized what was showing on.

"Inferiority complex!" He mused a stern look in his eyes.

-----------------

"Inferiority complex!"

Putting the available clues together he could help but come to that conclusion.

It was a tale as cliche as one might get but his few days of interacting with luacs told him all.

Lucas was a sensitivity individual.

He was a young teenger who seemed to display lots of emotions.

Jealousy, saddens, joy and much more. As a matter of fact the only emotion he hadn't seen Lucas displayed fully was anger.

A while back a famous physiologist has deduced compared to the other races vampires where the most sensitive.

Being a total of 10% more sensitivity to their emotions than humans.

Ten percent might seem low but that was more than enough to affect the psych of a vampire.

Ren POV

"Inferiority complex!" Alicia repeated with a furrow.

As I expected she was about as clueless as Frey.

So I decided to enlightenment her.

"I'm going to picture a clear story for you to understand!"

Sitting on the stairs I looked towards her and began.

"You are a prodigy...a ones in a million talent. Among this generation of awakener I dare say apart from the white kistune in Hosu you have the highest potential to become a transcendant."

The road to become a transcendant wasn't just about talent but also mindset.

There where those like I and luacs who might have the talent but not the mindset to advance forward.

And there where those like the girl infornt of me who was so much talent a correct mindset wasn't needed for her to grow.

"I greatly appreciate you compliment but how those that tie in with luacs inferiority complex?"

"I'm getting there!" I replied and continued.

"Compared to you, your sister had already ended her journey if growth. She currently sits at the rank of what is attainable by mere mortal, a transcendant."

I could see she was growing impatient but hey I was the physiologist here. No rushing.

"Now imagined yourself in that's boys position..." I pointed towards the boy currently busy cultivating.

His expression was completely unkown to me since his back was facing me but I could feel the sheer dread emitting from him.

"Above average as things go."

I could see realization finally striking her as she looked towards him.

"A dead lineage, dead parents, missing sibling, above average in talent, and a prodigy for a rival."

"How will you feel if you lived in such a position?" I asked examining her expression.

Her expression darkened as she replied," Jealous and envy."

"I would wish I was in in higher position, I would wish I was a prodigy, I would wish my family where still around...I would wish I was I was strong as my rival."

The more she spoke, the more grim her expression got. She even clenched her fist so tight I could see droplets of her blood dripping onto the grass.

"The envy he felt towards you led to needless comparison... which brought about his inferiority complex."

Going for a more related term I added,"it was like scoring a ninty in a test whiles you friend scored a hundred. It was simply a ten marks in different but you mind just can't help but compare them. Why couldn't I also get 100?. I also studied just as much. I wish I also gotten 100."

My words seem to drive home the point as Alicia gritted her teeth.

She must have realized what I was getting at.

"A relatively normal vampire leaving with two complete monsters. Even if unintended, his mind wouldn't be able to avoid needless comparison. For a human it might led to jealous and most likely hatred but to a vampire one as sensitivity to emotions as him..."

"You dumbass....."

Before I knew what was showing on a burst of sound erupted around me as I saw Alicia lunged towards the vampire and crashing into him.

I swear I could could hear the crushing of bones as the vampire as they hit and upon impact the cultivating vampire was fling away, crashing and rolling onto the ground till his back slammed against the wall.

"Ouch!"I could help but muttered as the sheer impact of his crashed caused me to shuttered.

The boy who seemed to have been jolted back into reality had a confused and pained look on his face and as he slowly sat up.

As I observed me I didn't know whether to be impressed he didn't scream or the fact that he had come out of that relatively unscathed.

He was wounded especially the areas around his arm but his wounds had already began to stitch together.

" A vampire's regeneration is always a sight to behold!" I mused.

Among the four humaniod races vampires where undoubtedly the strongest not because of their superhumans strength but because of their regeneration.

As long the wound wasn't a one kill move like the piercing strike of gungir or a soul related attack like the immortal killing flame. This inhuman creatures could heal it.

And the best part of their regeneration was it grew along with them.

There where rumor that the progenitor of vampires could regernated from ash.

While I knew nothing of said individual I had a feeling those rumors where actually true.

In the grand scheme of things the progeniter wans't important here what did matter however was hoping Alicia with whatever method she was hoping to use actually work.

After all the vampire's inability to grow was caused by her
