Diary of the mentor ch35 Role.

[Death zone: Forgotten city]

The world was pale, devoid of any color.

The building had crumbled, some titled whiles other wore out.

The asphalt roads had fiusess and holes in them and had completely been solified after years of hardened sunlight.

The surrounding was envolped in a light mist adding a sense of colorlessness to the ruined city.

In said ruined city deviod of even the sunlight making the surrounding almost bleak walked a being.

He looked human, with a rather youthful appearance.

His skin, fair in complexion.

His eyes a serene deep blue like an approaching storm seem to go in contrast with his expression of tranquility which seem to keep said storm away.

His handsome appearance coupled with his faded blonde coloured hair give him a presence of mystery and his attire a simple grey cotton pullover and pair of white track trousers give him a mudune feel.

The being walked the ruin streets with unbrother steps, only displaying pieces of emotions when his part was blocked by a nearby building or had been completely severed.

After minutes of idlely strolling the ruin city, he arrived infornt a thin stretch of rails and on the other side of the rails was a vast water body that surrounded the city he stood on.

"New York bay!" He whispered resting his arms on the rails as an enoromous familair silhouette of a statue began to reveal itself through the light mist engulfing the city.

"We fought the fog abomination here!" He smiled as his stormy looking eyes grew solemn replaced by a nostalgic look.

The mist covering the city wans't a normal kind of mist but one that erases the name and memories of what it engulf from the outside world.

4990 years ago the city fo New York had been forgotten by everyone of that era after it had been devoured by the fog abomination, Mephisto.

In the current era only four individual including the being, know of its existence.

"Child!" His dark blue eyes glowed faintly as his shadow began to twist and distorted.

The sight was bizarre but what was even more haunting was the cloaked individual that rose out of his shadow.

With his back turn to the cloak individual, his expression grew stern as he spoke," how many devils did you retrieve?"

The figure remained silent and kneed with their left knee.

"So she acted!"

Taking her silences as confirmation his predication did come true he sighed.

"What was her reaction?"

"Frightening!"

Asta answer was brief but the being could feel the intensity in her words.

"I presume not all my creations where destroyed?"

"One was saved!" Asta replied lowering her head.in shame.

With her abilities she knew she could have retrieved hundreds but she made fear overcome her and only runned with one.

"One shall suffice. So don't blame yourself!"

The being noticing her dejection muttered in a soft voice and turn to face her.

Bending to her eye level he give her a smile of reassurance and continued.

" The devil's where merely a misdirection to throw a nuisance out of my path. As a matter of fact they weren't important, just a fiasco I set up to not alert them of my true plan!"

Meetings the being gaze, her golden eyes sparked with confusion.

"Father....."

"I had three goals...." He interjected patting her on the head.

The first, gain a reaction from Vana to led her out of the city, that was the main reason I stationed you and lycon in Avgon."

"The vampire wans't our target?"

"He was but now he is not a major player in my plans. I just need him for Vana to follow my tune."

"Are you smitted with that transcendant!"

Her expression was hidden underneath the hood of her cloak but the coldness of her tone caused the being to tremble a little.

"Fascinating....."

As he recovered from the chills he just got, he smiled a mischievous kind and brought his hands to the edge of Asta hood.

"Are you Jealous?" He inquired pulling her hood up to reveal a delicate and beautiful black haired woman whose golden eyes gleamed with a furious gaze directed at him.

" Yes."

Surprised by her boldness the being sighed and gently stoked her the side of her cheeks with a fatherly affection," I holf no affection for that transcendant, she is simply a being, I can not overlook. She did a number on me years back and I do not want a repeat of that."

Heaving a sigh of relief, Asta smile," Since that is out of the way, what of you other two goals?"

Retracting his hands back, the being countuined," With the evolution of my affinity, I wanted to test a new experiment, and it seems agvon had two perfect test subject for that."

" So is that in relation with why you wanted Vana out of the city using me as bait."

The being nobbed his expression going back to his stern look.

" With the attack of his disciples that woman will hunt you and therefore will imploy the help of the saint after my tail, Stalker. Stalker would have caught hold of orphis activities in that base and would have informed Vana who will come after you, leaving the city devoid of the only transcendant who could currently tracked me!"

" So whiles Vana hunted us you entered the city and...."

"Found my test subjects. Two wonderful specimen."He smirked not quite a sinister kind but frightened neverthless.

As his smirk died down, he rose up gesturing for Asta to following.

Turning back to relaxing on the rails, Asta walked beside him and sat on the rails with her back facing the pale water body.

"It will take a while for them to mature, so for now unleash the devil you managed to retrieve out in Agvon. Preferably a populated district, so it can create a legion and form a Nest!"

The more he spoke, the more distant his gaze felt. He wans't one to commit genocide but he had to do it this time.

"Father, can you truly go on with this?" Asta desolving her cloak whispered as she brushed her long black hair back with a complicated expression on her face.

"It's not a matter of can because I will!" He commented in honestly.

He was no hypocrite.

He wans't trying to justify his actions.

He was going to kill thousands and millions all fo his goal.

It was messed up and he would proudly say he hated it but he had to.

He was not justified but he had his reason.

Perhaps feed up with his reason, Asta stared intensity at him and demanded," why do you have to go this far if you— if I clearly hate it!"

Grasping his eyes to hide his expression, the being sighed winkles forming on his forehead.

" This is the role give to me. This is my sin for creating the hybrids."

Hi reply merely a whispered was filled with regret, so much regert that Asta got off the rails and patted him on the back as a sign of her trying to console him.

Examining the being she called her father, she wondered want had happened for such a being to be filled with this level of regret.
