"Wierdos"-Asher

I stood in the doorway of my homeroom class, stunned. There was no possible way that my homeroom arrangement could have possibly been worse. Not only was the glittering weirdo in the same homeroom as me, but also the black haired girl who hated my guts. It also didn't help that Everyone else currently in the class was staring at me. On my walk to homeroom I had received tons of stares and glances. I was pretty sure that everyone in the school had seen that morning confrontation. It also didn't help that just in that moment Some bulldozer had rammed into me from the back. I was sent crashing into the ground as the weight of what felt like a hippo landed directly onto of me.

I wheezed, trying to catch my breath and I heard the sounds of laughter coming from above me. I squirmed, trying to get up from under the boulder that lay on top of me to no avail. Finally, the massive pressure was released from my back and i managed to roll over, gasping for breath. "Whoa I'm sorry, didn't see you there," A deep voice said from above me. When my vision finally cleared I sat up and finally got a good look at who, or what had just put me on my ass.

He was a large kid, with well defined muscles and hands the size of my head. Despite how much it felt like he weighed while he was sprawled out on top of me, he looked extremely fit and I could tell that he was an athlete, and a pretty good one at that. He held out a hand that I accepted, and he pulled my back unto my feet, with so much force that he nearly threw me out the classroom. "It's all good," I said between breaths. I wasn't out of shape whatsoever, in fact some people would say that I was in really good shape physically. But those few seconds on the floor had taken so much air out of my lungs that each breath burned with a sweet kind of pleasure.

"My name's Kai. Listen I'm really really sorry about all that, but maybe watch where your going next time." And with that, he ran off towards a desk. I didn't even have time to respond with my name or anything. Also, he was the one who ran into me? I could also tell by his curt response that he wasn't that sorry at all. I gathered my things and walked over to a desk in the far right corner of the room by a window. I had just began to set down my things when I heard a voice from behind me say,

"You really enjoy making a fool of yourself don't you." I turned around and to my dismay I had some how managed to pick the seat right next to the black haired girl. To my greater dismay as I looked around the classroom all the rest of the seats had been filled out already. Looking at her face there was not even a hint of a smile or any reason to believe that she was joking. Because why would I expect to have a normal conversation and exchange jokes with somebody in this school full of weirdo's. I sighed heavily.

"You don't even try to hide your contempt from me." She asked, her eyes trailing up and down my figure critically. "Why is that."

I settled down into my seat. "Well, there's no point in lying really. I'm sure you'd just see right through it anyway. "

"So you didn't do it because you think lying is wrong?" She questioned.

"I don't really care." I answered. In truth I had noticed what she was trying to do. Judging by the way her eyes scoured every inch of my body, the questions that she was posing, and the way she was posing them had told me one thing. She was trying to build a mental map of what kind of person I was. I wondered briefly why she chose me instead of the 20 other students in class but that was when her sharp voice cut through my thoughts like butter.

"Do you really not care, or," Her eyes narrowed. "Do you simply not want me to tell me. "She had already caught on to me. I had to admit, she was extremely smart.

"I think we can cut the bullshit now. Why me specifically."

She didn't seem the least bit shocked by my sudden outburst. "You were the closest student to my desk.'" She took a good look at me. "If I said, 'You wouldn't believe that would you?" I didn't respond and instead held her gaze. We were locked in this twisted sort of staring contest that had everything but laser eyes, and electricity crackling through out the air.

I'm not sure when that stare off would have ended if It wasn't for Hikaru stepping in. "Well, it seems like you two have become great friends!" She exclaimed.

"We're not!" We both shouted at the exact same time and resumed our staring contest.

I heard Hikaru giggle and then mutter to herself, "Sure."

I mostly kept to myself for the rest of homeroom, trying to avoid getting into any unnecessary conversations. I was sitting back and trying to gather information through observation and eavesdropping. Though, it was pretty hard to eavesdrop when I had decided to sit in the back right corner of the room. I was getting no where and… I looked over to the side at my two classmates. Hikaru was still trying to bring start up a conversation with the black haired girls who name we still didn't now yet. I was pretty sure that we would never figure it out if it wasn't for the ginger haired boy who stepped into the front of the class and began to speak.

"Hello, hello." Instantly, the room quieted down at the sound of his voice. He smiled brightly and then continued, "Seeing as how our homeroom teacher has yet to arrive yet, I think that we should start to get to know each other in a little ice breaker of sorts. I'll go first, my name is Liam."

It took a few seconds but the next person spook up. She was a girl with long blonde hair and and blue eyes. She texted on her phone and absent-mindedly replied, "Jean Anderson."

Not even a second later the next student spoke up. He was a boy with black hair that fell around his eyes and he sat in a group with three other boys. "Luis Franchesco."

The brown haired boy next to him spoke up in a heavy British accent. "Arthur Morgan."

The final kid in the group spoke up. "Ben Dover." The entire group burst out into raucous laughter, but no one else found the joke funny. After sitting in awkward silence for a few seconds the boy finally shamefully admitted that his name was Charles. The glittering weirdo-whose name I found out was Hoshi Homura- went on a whole monologue talking about his greatness and how much he was adored, all in all, just leaving an arrogant impression on the rest of the students.

A few more students piped in with their names but I didn't pay much attention. A few people added in what their hobbies were but it didn't end up telling me much information worth remembering. I only cared about one persons name. I looked at the black haired girl from the corner of my eyes. it was only for a split second but she still managed to catch me looking and instantly called me out for it.

"I don't know what part about I didn't come here to get a boyfriend you can't understand." She spat the words out like it was a disgusting meal. I raised my hands in surrender.

"Would it help if I apologized." I suggested.

"Open your mouth again and I'll kill you."

I listened.

Hikaru went next. "My name is Hikaru Mei and it's nice to meet all of you." She smiled brightly and received a huge round of applause, especially from the boys. It made sense. She was a nice hot girl that is actually being nice. Something that they had probably not experienced very often. "Next how about you share your name." She stared directly at the black haired girl.

The tension in the room grew exponentially as the two girls had a stare down. Hikaru had made an open challenge and anyone could see it, plain as day. She had her on the spot in front of the entire class and placed the ball in her court. I wondered what she would do. Looking at her face she didn't show much shock or anger but it completely betrayed the stress of the situation. She could just say her name but that would just be admitting a loss and I doubted that the black haired girl would do that. But if she outright refused to say anything she would probably cut off her chance of forming a friendship with the other students. It was a tou-

"Let me make myself clear, I have no intention of making friends with any of you and I don't plan on changing my mind on that fact. That being said I see no reason to needlessly antagonize myself from the rest of the class so I'll tell you my name at the very least. Mina, that's my name." I turned around slightly shocked, although I should have probably expected that. Even though she said she didn't see the point in antagonizing the rest of the students she still did it anyways. I believed it was a purposeful move to thwart Hikaru and get in under her skin. Still Hikaru didn't show a single sign of being pressed or angry. Instead she clamped her hands together and her smile grew even wider, though it didn't reach her eyes.

"Mina! That's a beautiful name!" She said showing no sign that she was frustrated whatsoever. Next she looked directly at me. "What about you. We've been acquainted since this morning but I still don't know your name."

I sighed. I was hoping that I could just fade into the background but this Hikaru girl was sharp. "My name is Asher." With all the introductions out of the way the class fell back into their groups and began to chatter, although they made a point to avoid Mina and me. Mina I understand but why me? I looked around the classroom and began to analyze all the groups and cliques that were forming.

The first group I saw sat in the direct center of the room and it consisted of Arthur, Charles, and Luis. They were the loudest group in the room, constantly exploding into huge fits of laughter every few seconds. The second group was that of three girls. Jean, Mia, and Hikaru. I noticed that Hikaru was bouncing from group to group and every group she went too, when she left you could tell that the rest of the students in that group had grown closer. The final major group consisted of Liam and all the other students. One glance and I could see that all the girls were fawning over him and all the boys were jealous of him. Not only was he tall but he also had perfect ginger hair that glowed in the sunlight. He also had dark brown eyes and perfect gold skin. Any guy would be jealous of his good looks.

I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes letting the time pass listening to the drone of my classmates talking. I was about to fall asleep when I heard the sound of the classroom clicking open. I slightly opened my eyes. Then I did a double take. Unless I was losing my mind, our homeroom teacher was the same smoking hot chick I had saw the wax figure of.
