Chapter 22: Clues Appear
Jiang Yuan was at his wits' end. Now, he and this pig were in the same boat. If this matter were to be leaked without figuring out a way to remedy it, it would do him no good either. He had no choice but to grit his teeth and bear it.
"Damn it, still talking about him, I'm a pighead myself!" After leaving the director's office, Jiang Yuan smiled bitterly, slapped his forehead hard, and muttered under his breath.
"Captain Jiang, are you okay?" A young policewoman in uniform walked over from a distance, concerned. Her unusually caring eyes revealed that her concern for Jiang Yuan was more than just professional.
"Xiao Liu, do me a favor. Keep a close eye on that matter I mentioned to you before." Jiang Yuan rubbed his temples hard, causing them to become swollen and red.
"Okay, I'll do my best." The policewoman nodded firmly. Although she knew the consequences of doing this could be severe, women are more emotional than men, and sometimes they act entirely on their feelings. This policewoman in charge of the network was in such a situation. Without her great assistance, the matter might have already been exposed.
"Sigh, the internet, how can you watch it? Do your best." Jiang Yuan patted the policewoman's shoulder, shook his head, and left. He still had to investigate, work hard, and at least find some clues before the higher-ups sent someone down. That way, he could make up for his mistakes.
In a few days, Yang Huawei found no valuable clues from the intelligence network of the Thirteenth Bureau. Fortunately, Yang Huawei had learned how to use the internet and could surf the web and browse forums when he had nothing else to do. After all, each computer in the Thirteenth Bureau was encrypted, so there was no fear of viruses. Yang Huawei casually opened a picture forum and browsed through the various images, real and fake. His limbs were gone, and although the picture was blurry, Yang Huawei could see bite marks on the corpse.
"Strange murder case in Yanjiang City, very bloody, very violent..." This was the title of the picture.
"Yanjiang City, huh? Finally, you're here. Where did you come from?" Yang Huawei muttered, abruptly standing up. He donned his SWAT combat suit, inserted a hundred-round magazine into his gun, strapped four hundred-round magazines to his vest, secured over a dozen bombs to his legs, checked his equipment again, and confirmed everything was in order.
"Huh? Brother Iron, where are you going?" Fang Hongyan, who had just woken up from a nap and was wearing a sexy nightgown, yawned and came out of the inner room. Seeing Yang Huawei's appearance, she was stunned and quickly asked. She now called him Brother Iron smoothly. Yang Huawei's straightforward nature made it impossible for her to tease him. After several failed attempts, she had lost face and stopped bothering him, although she grew more curious about this man.
"Investigate. They've appeared." Yang Huawei said, turning the computer screen to show the bloody picture to Fang Hongyan, oblivious to her sexy nightgown, her ample bosom, and her long, white legs exposed to the thighs.
"Let me see. Strange World Search Net? You believe the stuff on such a lousy site? It's all photoshopped. Just laugh it off." Fang Hongyan glanced at it dismissively.
"Whether it's true or not, I have to check it out." Yang Huawei walked to the military map on the wall. The map had been modified but was precise enough.
Yang Huawei's finger moved across the map, looking for the small city of Yanjiang. However, after half an hour, he still hadn't found it.
"Forget it, I'll go with you." Fang Hongyan shook her head. "There's a GPS in the car. It can guide you to Yanjiang City. You should at least learn about 21st-century technology."
"Then let's go." Yang Huawei's mind was filled with the bloody picture, ignoring Fang Hongyan's sarcasm. He reached out and lifted Fang Hongyan, heading outside.
"Wait, wait, I can't go out in this outfit!" Fang Hongyan struggled in his grasp, revealing a pink thong. Hearing the commotion, Xiao Guo came out of the adjacent room and was stunned, unable to look away.
"Xiao Guo, if you keep staring, I'll gouge out your eyes!" Fang Hongyan yelled angrily, covering her exposed lower half. Xiao Guo, frightened, quickly retracted his head, not ready to become a lecherous ghost.
"Hurry up then." Yang Huawei said, putting Fang Hongyan back into the inner room. He waited at the door without closing it.
Fang Hongyan blushed, but seeing Yang Huawei's expressionless face, she grew furious. This damned man was indifferent to her sexy body. She decided to go all out, stripping off her nightgown in front of him. She wore only a thong, with a small piece of fabric covering her lower area. As she moved, her full, bouncy breasts jiggled before Yang Huawei, with her nipples like embers in the night.
"Hurry up. Changing clothes takes you forever." Yang Huawei frowned at her slow pace.
Fang Hongyan nearly fell, unable to believe that her naked body didn't affect Yang Huawei. Was her allure insufficient?
"No, it's not that. He's not a normal man, beyond common sense." She consoled herself, quickly donning a tight leather outfit, holstering two guns on her thighs, and glaring at Yang Huawei.
"With your speed, in the Holy City, you'd be dismembered by beasts before anyone could recover your body." Yang Huawei muttered, grabbing Fang Hongyan again. She couldn't dodge.
Fang Hongyan gave up resisting, letting Yang Huawei carry her. He jumped from the third floor to the police courtyard, stuffed her into a Jeep, and jumped into the driver's seat, saying, "Direct me," before roaring off.
"Fang Hongyan seems to have met her match." Watching her behave like a kitten in Yang Huawei's grasp, Xiao Guo was dumbfounded.
"It's good she met her match. Saves us trouble." Wang Pengfei, sorting files, responded without looking up. "As long as they don't cause trouble, let them be."
"But it looks like they're going to cause trouble. They're armed." Xiao Guo turned back.
"Hmm?" Wang Pengfei frowned, worried about Yang Huawei's destructiveness. He thought for a moment, then dialed his phone.
"Fang Hongyan, what's going on?" Wang Pengfei asked.
"This man..." Fang Hongyan emphasized "man" heavily. "Saw a photoshopped picture and said he found a clue. We're going to Yanjiang City to check." She replied helplessly.
"Be careful. Contact me if anything happens. And don't cause trouble. Yanjiang City isn't our jurisdiction. I'll contact Beijing Special Services." Wang Pengfei checked the electronic map.
"Forget it. Can I stop him from causing trouble? Hurry up." Fang Hongyan said, hanging up.
Wang Pengfei called Beijing Special Services, who weren't too concerned. Although Special Services had jurisdictions, it was formal. Their role was to handle emergencies anywhere, often crossing regions.
Fang Hongyan was terrified. She thought she was the craziest in Special Services, but Yang Huawei was crazier. Driving a domestic Chery car at 300 km/h, crossing 500 km in less than two hours, dodging and jumping obstacles, he made driving like a circus act. The trip was more thrilling than a fighter jet ride. Countless cars crashed, avoiding their crazy Jeep.
Entering Yanjiang City in just under two hours, they stopped at the local police station. Fang Hongyan, pale and shaky, got out and leaned on the car, vomiting until she had nothing left.
"I swear, I'll never ride with you again." She weakly pointed at Yang Huawei.
