Yui looked and counted a total of 17 people inside the container including her.
"Okay, we need to move out first before any unforeseen threat comes to us first."
"James, you worked here, you know everything about this place. You will be our guide." Yui said to James.
"But I can't see anything outside, if we can't even see how we are going to find the office building in darkness." James said with frustration.
"We don't have anything except for this whether you like it or not, if you don't want to go outside you can just die here for all I care." Yui said in anger that the more they stay at one place the more chances of them being found out by a nightmare realm creature is high.
"Damn it, okay I will guide you there. I still remember the root, just don't blame me if anything happens." James stood up from his place.
Yui stood at the closed gate and waited for James to open the door and lead the way.
"Wait, you want me to go first?" James stood at the closed door with irritation and anger.
"You know those nightmare creatures you talk about could be just outside and I can't see dark. I would be dead before I knew it.
"Why don't you go outside first Yui, you have already been there and you can see in the dark too, right." James said to Yui.
Why would he have to be one to step outside first, those monsters might be still outside waiting for them.
"Noah, you go outside first, check the surroundings and see if you can find anything." Yui said to Noah.
"Why are you guys sending me...." Noah was a bit shocked and scared by hearing they wanted him to be the first one to step outside the container.
Noah wouldn't lie if someone asked if he was scared or not, after all who wouldn't be scared if they heard those inhuman scream the pain those people must have felt before they die is something they could never imagine.
Those sea port workers' dying scream is still haunting him, if he had a gun with him right now he might have blown his head with a gun instead of facing whatever that is lurking outside in darkness.
"I'm not going outside first, it's either you or James should be good outside the container."
"Yui you already went out before it won't be a big issue for you to do that again." Noah is really scared and nervous right now, his brain isn't helping him with good ideas or words.
"Noah there's no time for discussion now." Yui said while looking straight into his eyes.
"You are the one who's going to walk outside first." Both James and Yui said it together.
Before Noah could finish speaking anything as if having mutual understanding both James and Yui pushed Noah out of the container.
James pushed him from behind and Yui opened the door just as Noah got pushed out of the container, they quickly closed the door after pushing him outside.
"Do you think he's going to die outside?" James asked Yui but deep down his feeling that he's going to hear Noah dying blood curdling scream soon.
"I don't know, it's hard to tell whether he will die or survive." Yui answers as she isn't sure what's secret Noah is hiding from her as it's clear to her that even though he couldn't see all clearly or look at everything around him.
He still has his vision inside this nightmare realm that no ordinary human shouldn't have, if he was an ordinary human like James, he also wouldn't be able to see anything.
Noah opens his eyes in darkness.
POV of Workers :
George looks at the crying and cursing James, while he ties tight knots on his hands behind his back.
"All done now you can throw them inside the container, no hard feelings James we are just doing our work."
George is a man in his early 40s with grey and white hair and wrinkles on his white face. He also was the one who introduced James into this job.
James and George aren't just normal workers, their main work is taking care of illegal goods that come to sea ports ad sometimes other places too.
Working in this field they all saw their fair share of betrayal, murder, disappearance and things you shouldn't talk about.
They don't ask what's inside the container or what work they're going to do today or tonight, as such they were working tonight but it wasn't James lucky night.
George saw resentment in James' eyes as workers threw him inside the ship container.
"Man, James was such a nice boy, always working hard and never complaining about anything that shouldn't have happened to him but there's nothing we can do except for accepting the fact that this is how our life is." Said one of the workers.
"Ronald, instead of talking shit just move your legs quickly, load the truck with a box within two minutes as much as you can." George said to Ronald and other workers with a serious face.
George is more worried about why those from Giordano family left the sea port in such a hurry, George turned his head to their leader Brandon who is standing beside a cocaine container looking over for not anyone from here to steal anything from the container.
George closed the container door where they threw James and that other guy, after everyone left he's going to come and open the door of this container but for now he really closed the door for real didn't leave it open for James to escape, unlike what James thought.
After two minutes Brandon also closed the cocaine container door and let the truck go to its destination.
"Boss should we go home as Giordano's family was the only one who called us tonight not the other." One of the workers said to Brandon.
"Yeah, I'm having a bad feeling about this. The Giordano family left the sea port as quickly as they could after receiving a phone call."
"It must be because the police are raiding this place tonight."
"No that can't be true.".
"It has to be what else would make them leave the sea port in a hurry."
"Other gangs or families might have attacked their base here."
Everyone starts to speak out loud around Brandon and creates small chaos .
"Silence." Brandon said that out loudly stopping everyone in their train of thoughts.
"We don't know what's going on, what is about to happen, our job has been completed for tonight. You all will get paid for your work."
"So, without being noisy let's move out."
Brandon has always been the main decision making of the group, when he tells us to do something we do it without hesitation.
As they all walked towards the workers cabin to change their clothes and get their belongings, half way through they suddenly felt tremor on the ground.
"Is it an earthquake?"
They all look at the shop container surrounding them. If this is an earthquake they all would be buried and crushed to death by containers.
"Let's quickly move out of this place." Brandon said as he slowly starts to run as all of them are surrounded by containers, dying here would be tragic.
As they were running out of the container zone they soon heard one gunshot sound in the air and a muffled cry not far from them.
Hearing the gunshot sound Brandon stopped running and looked at his surroundings, he got close to the container and slowly moved his head to take a sneak look at what happened.
He saw five people dead from the black suit clothes they wore. They can tell they worked for some gangster but the odd one was the one who wore a medieval monk robe in brown colour.
Monk had a big dagger in his hand while those four gang members had their necks cut off and on monk head was bleeding must be from the bullet wound. Brandon signals the workers to stop at their track, he walks first to inspect the dead whether few of them are still alive or they really are dead.
"I hope this isn't another gang war." Brandon said slowly as not wanting to alert anyone nearby as in gang war people like them are the first one to die and they are not worth a bargaining chip either.
Suddenly they heard a gun firing sound again, this time it lasted more than before in the distance. Brandon gathered the guns from four dead bodies and took a monk's big dagger too.
Everyone got startled by gun firing sound they all afraid and confuse and look around their surroundings nothing seems out of place for a moment but suddenly they heard sound of something breaking up above them.
Looking at the sky they saw retracting light breaking apart like broken glass and just as that light disappeared darkness fell into the sea port.
All the people on the sea port couldn't see their surroundings as if they were engulfed by the darkness, everyone started calling their friends and colleagues names.
George looked around his surroundings but all he could see was complete darkness. Soon he saw the outline of someone coming towards him and it was Brandon.
