What's That?

"Hey, everyone, we have an urgent situation here."

In darkness they all heard Brandon's voice, even though they couldn't see him, his voice brought relief to their hearts as the situation seemed to be dreadful.

"It seems gang war has started here. We need to be cautious and walk while checking our surroundings, even though we couldn't see much in this darkness we must stay together no one is allowed to leave the group."

They all are scared and confused, scared because a gang war has started in the sea port. Getting out of this would be hard for insignificant worthless workers like them and confusing because of darkness that has completely wiped out light.

From their waist they took out their torch light and turned on the lights and aimed their lights at Brandon, even though they had good quality torch light with them it could go past more few metres, torch light viability is too low right now.

"That's odd it should be working fine but why is the light so dim?" George said as hit his torch light with his palm for it to work better again.

"Maybe it's because your battery cell is running out of power." Ronald said to George as if he was speaking something so obvious that anyone could understand it easily.

George looked around him and saw just like him other workers' torch lights were also not working in full power.

'Something is really odd about this whole situation.' George thought in his mind.

"I found six guns from the dead body here and this one dagger, everyone get one for yourself everyone but only those who know how to use guns should be the one to take."

Ronald took the dagger and swing and slash in the air.

"Be careful Ronald, someone might get injured, if they are standing near you."

"Don't worry, George, nothing bad will happen."

After getting familiar with the weapons in their hands they all turned to Brandon for the next step they need to take now.

Brandon starts talking about his next plan they need to follow to get out of sea port without getting caught in gang war.

Brandon didn't feel it nor anyone else that something is lurking in darkness slowly walking towards Brandon from darkness.

Brandon is standing at the cross road so what's behind him no-one can see it as the torch light didn't go that far in it.

"And that's how we are going to do it, any doubt or questions?" Brandon asks after saying what completely told them what they need to do to get out of here.

"Boss."

Ronald said with a meek voice that was quite unusual for Ronald to speak that tone to anyone including Brandon.

Brandon turned to Ronald standing not far from him, he saw Ronald slowly taking his step back as if he was really terrified by something, his whole face is covered in sweat at this moment but sadly they couldn't see his facial expressions on saw taking his step back.

"What's the matter Ronald?" Brandon asked Ronald.

Ronald slowly raised his hand and pointed right behind Brandon.

"What's that?"

Everyone turned their head behind Brandon trying to see what Ronald was pointing at and they all saw a tall, skinny and sickly shadow outline behind Brandon's back. The shadow seems to be one head taller than Brandon and Brandon is a 6 feet tall man.

Brandon turned around to look at what they all were looking at behind him, just as Brandon turned around his head got devoured instantly by the nightmare realm creature.

Sea port workers saw right in front of their eyes one of them got devoured by a tall and skinny looking humanoid monster. It has completely dark black skin, its long, sickly hand has long fingers and sharp fingers that penetrate Brandon's back.

Monster heads have no features such as eyes, ears, hair or mouth but the monster slowly opened his skin in a vertical line from the centre of its forehead to its chest revealing its red flesh and blood and skin that the monster pulled by itself revealed numerous sharp yellowish fangs inside them.

As Brandon turned around to look behind him, the monster's huge mouth devoured him instantly. Brandon didn't even get time to ask for help or scream as the monster crushed his head and neck inside him and closed its mouth.

Everyone stood still as they were standing before no-one moved out of their position. They were all scared, their mind went blank without any thoughts.

They never imagined that one day one of their friends is going to die this way, fear has taken deep root inside them.

As if the monster could smell their fear it opened the pores all over its skin and was breathing their fear like fresh air, one with sharp eyes can see small holes on the monster skin opening and closing.

Monster skin on its both hands split open from its wrist and a high pitch creepy creaking door sound laughing with madness came out, everyone got goosebumps on their skin, chill ran down their spine.

Just as Ronald heard monster laughing sounds he moved his legs and run away from the place like he never ran his life before.

Some of them Ronald ran away, they followed behind and ran past as quick as they could, some of them were too scared to even notice that their fellow workers had run away.

George comes out of his fear and shock as everyone starts to run away. George knew Brandon for a long time. They've been working together since they were young and suddenly Brandon is dead.

George looks at the monster eating his friend right in front of his eyes, George starts to feel anger and rage inside him as he looks at this scary monster.

He never saw or heard about this monster before. Is this the end of the world or a hell gate has been opened up in the world? That's why monsters like this are roaming on the chthon surface.

Monster raise Brandon body in air and crush Brandon legs and back and try to fold him like ball and swallow him with its skin, huge bulge appear on monster stomach in shape of ball and inside this bulge is Brandon corpse.

There are many questions in his mind but he has to kill this monster first, even though George is angry and scared he still loads the gun and aims his gun at monster head and fires two shots at monster head.

As a bullet hits the monster in the head small chunks of its flesh drops on the ground and the monster falls on the ground on its back.

"Ahhhhhhhhh."

George starts to scream out loudly as he keeps firing the bullets at monster body, seeing the monster is stopped moving George falls on his knees and starts to cry out loud but suddenly George feels someone's hand is shaking him.

George looks and it's one of the workers who stayed behind, he is pointing his fingers at the dead monster, George turns his head and looks at the monster slowly raising its hands and trying to stand up again from the ground.

All the bullets that George fired at the monster wasn't enough to kill it or this monster can't be killed with bullets.

"George we have run now before this monster catches us."

George and the last two sea port workers start to run away from the monster.

"We have to get the hell out of this place George, I checked my phone there's no network connection available here." Said sea port worker to George.

"Running around the container terminal isn't a good Idea either, we don't know how many of this monster is still roaming around in the whole sea port or worse the whole city." George got his senses back after getting over his friend's death though it isn't right to say get over as he just accepted his friend is gone and he still has people waiting for him.

Then just behind them they heard a bloodcurdling high pitch scream from behind them without even turning back they know it's the monster that is screaming out loudly.

Monster penetrates its nails into container cargo and like hot knife cutting butter monster nails cut the container metal, Monster starts to run after them as if it got provoked by George shooting bullets at its body.

"How many bullets do you guys have?" George asked the two of his colleagues.

"I have one gun with me and it's fully loaded." Hearing that George nodded his head and look at the other one.

"I don't have a gun and I don't know how to use one either."

"You two listen up, if that monster catches me don't try to save my life, just run as fast as you can get out of here cause if one of you gets caught by a monster I'm not going to try to save you from this damn monster."

George said that without hesitation they can't kill this monster and saving someone in the current situation is the same as getting oneself killed.
