Now in the tutorial week with his stats, medium dungeons were easy.
In the first official survival week? They were a bit trickier!
Especially with the average zombie being a 45 for stats. That meant any mutants had broken the 100 barrier and were now somewhere close to 135 in this dungeon. With their non primary stats being the 45 still.
Garrett simply grins at the possible challenge and rushes into the first group of zombies with his 5ft long sword cleaving 5 heads off with one swing. He grins as he pulls up his pistol with a full charge as a bulker zombie appears and rushes him. They had definitely sped up from the boost to their base stats. He barely blasted its chest and head to smithereens avoiding the charge as the body lost brains and power and skids the last few feet to stop just inches from his boot.
Garrett then proceeds to hunt like a Doom Slayer himself. A sword in one hand, a constant energy pistol in the other. He was doing well. he cleared floors one and two without issue. His only tough part of this dungeon came from the boss floor. It was a triple threat.
He had the new Speedster, Bulker, and Bone armor all working together as a team here.
Rolling his shoulders and charging in he raises his hammer this time to crush the bone armor zombie. But he is caught off guard as the bulker suddenly appears and grabs onto his hammer blow. Using its whole body to hold back the blow. Garrett is so caught off guard that it stops his swing for a solid 5 seconds before its arms collapse under his strength being almost three times its stat score.
But in that time the Speedster drew his pistol shots as it came at his unprotected left flank. He manages to track it and shoot it through the legs and head. But at the cost of the Bone armor darting around the Bulker and managing to punch him in the kidney. Winding him for 3 seconds.
He quickly recovers and completes the smash through the whole top half of the bulker and unleashes 25 shots, the full clip, of the energy pistol at the bone armor. It hisses as it turns red from over use of its energy reserves. Garrett grunts as the Bone armor managed to tank the shots with it losing chunks of its armor plates from head on shots and barely skidding around other shots that were just the smallest off center as Garrett had to finish his hammer swing.
With that opening it manages to brings its serrated bone claws up and make a claw mark against Garrets mask. The mask materials thankfully held but it was still a close call as Garrett brings his hammer around and smashes through the Bone zombie.
Panting a bit from the rush and the two hits the trio managed to land on him. he nods to himself as he now knows he won't be challenging a Nightmare dungeon until 1 of two conditions are met.
1) He has 500+ in at least 3 stats.
Or 2) His squad is able to join him in the next few days from shopping for stat crystals and using their training rooms to their fullest to help them. That way he can have a personal squad to back him up.
After all this trio was only around a third of his highest stats, but they still hit him twice. Team work truly makes the dream work. Garrett laughs as he goes around the dungeon looting rooms for supplies to put into a duffel bag he has and waits for the points to be calculated in this medium ranked dungeon. He goes, "Man now I want to just relax and turn on a fun DreamWorks movie. Maybe Kung Fu panda or How to Train your Dragon if I get the chance? Those are fun."
He exits the dungeon with a duffel bag full of water, preserved cans of food, and some spare clothing for the camp. He hears the click of his gun having recharged and thinks back to the dungeon. It has become a regular building again. Then he gets an idea as the points roll in.
For Hunting a Medium Dungeon in week two, player Garrett has hunted 80 regular zombies, 10 Mutants, and Cleared a Boss party. In total your points are 12,900!
Garrett whistles at this amount and grins as he goes to a room in the building that used to be a basic office and grabs a desk. It's slightly ruined from combat but is still usable. He goes to the store and sells it, making it pop up as a Slightly damaged work desk: Sell value 25 points
With that he eyes all the other desks and computers and other equipment in the building and goes crazy. In the end he sells all things that are not the building itself for a solid 15,000 points!
He whistles harder at this and packs his bag and goes back to the city hall. He drops the bag off with the survivors and Hicks sees him, "Hey boss! You tired already of checking the perimeter? And where did the bag come from?"
Garrett grins as he goes, "Don't worry Hicks, I'm about to continue patrol, what I am after though is the SWAT van and all currently empty duffel bags. I'm gathering supplies from empty buildings while I'm out there."
Hicks goes wide eyed and on reflex goes, "But are you sure that's okay? I know you are hard to kill now, and damn strong. But you are still alone. We could come to back you up if you need it!"
Garrett pats Hicks on the shoulder and tells him, "First get our squad past 50 in stats, once that is done, you can help me out there. The zombies aren't push overs anymore like week one. They are indeed twice as strong. So keep everyone safe and I'll be back. Hopefully with good news about how to improve the base or even the summons I told you all about before. I will get us those reinforcements."
Hicks gulps a bit in worry about leaving his commanding officer on his own out there. But concedes the point that he and the others are only just barely scratching 40 in their highest stats. And that's with maxing out the daily gains limit from the training rooms. He nods in resolute determination as he goes, "Understood Colonel, but remember! We will be out there to back you up again! So hurry back and let's show these zombies we won't roll over and join their ranks so easily!"
Garrett grins widely as Hicks hands him the SWAT van keys and goes, "You got that right!"
He grabs the van, and with a solute from the pair of officers guarding the parking garage he salutes back and heads out while the back of the van is fully loaded with at least 50 duffel bags. He was going to be busy today.
A quick drive around the City hall in a 20 block radius and he now knew they were in trouble. They had over 60 dungeons within that range of their base now that this is no longer tutorial mode. And with a quick question to the game about the next doubling of stats for the zombies and what happens to dungeons he was now drumming his fingers on the steering wheel while going over the plan.
The next doubling of zombie stats will occur at the beginning of week 4 of the zombie survival world. And any dungeons that are not conquered in that time will become wandering hordes with the stats and strength of their dungeon backing them. They are defeat-able, but unlike Dungeons they can wander towards Players bases and take them down. Be ready. Their stats will be the stats from this week and the following week once they become hordes. But there is a chance that 4th week zombies will join the horde if they have a Variant or Alpha leading them. Points will be as reflected in their week of strength for stats. So be ready for challenges ahead.
Garrett hits his head against the steering wheel in frustration. He had a week and 4 days to hunt down 60 dungeons. And any new ones that pop up over the course of the week and a half. Before they become hordes to deal with as attacks against his base. He was on a time crunch. But he knew he was getting strength against the mutants, and if he can hunt as many as he can this week? He will be able to worry only about saving points and using the mutant, variant, and alpha hunts as his way to grow stronger. It will be risky, as if he faces another Variant or Alpha too soon, he might actually have to rest and recover for a day or two costing him much needed time.
But gritting his teeth in determination he heads to the first beginner dungeon. He had hunting to do.
