"Is Fate the excuse of the forsaken, is Free Will the delusion of the chosen?"
Such was a question that Xavier, the Demon King, never had the chance to ask himself. As he lay defeated, awaiting his death, he wondered about the wretched life he lived.
'The hero who killed me, the one who held the same ambitions as me. We both wanted good for the people, for the world. We are both two sides of the same coin, yet, fate decided that he will be the one the light will shine on.
Perhaps it was me too, perhaps it was my karma for flowing the rivers of blood with my sword. But still... It was fate that squashed the humanity in me first!
Damn fate, if I had one more chance, I would've lived for myself more, I wouldn't have taken this arbitrary role of being a necessary evil... This world, this game of destiny... It can burn to ashes for all I care.'
As he sunk into the cold embrace of death, a certain [REDACTED] heard his dying wish with amusement and cast their die, reversing the wheel of time one last time and going all in on him on a risky gamble with the stakes of their world.

Author review! This is my second book that I have taken time to create. The characters, the story, the lore, the mysteries, the foreshadowing... I believe I have created a decent story. You will find characters with flaws and growth, worldbuilding and power system expansive and deep, and the hype moments enough to have you pacing around while reading. Read the Author's notes on the first chapter, You'll get a somewhat good idea about what to expect (Not really, I'll cook harder than your expectations)
If I had to compare, this novel is like an underrated mom n pops chinese restaurant with the best nutritious food you've ever tasted, unlike the popular fast food 99% of the novels here are. Sure, it doesn't give those dopamine hits like those OP broken power progression we are addicted to reading over here, but it has its own charm. I'm not eloquent like Author-sama over here, but if I had to describe it, it's made to aid the story, rather than be the focus of the story itself. The story, especially at the start, may not be instantly addictive, but it grows on you and becomes better very quick, just like LOTM. I hope the author revamps the starting chapters down the line and brings it on par with the quality of the latest chapters. This is the kind of story that would linger in my mind for a long time after reading, that's how good and deep this underrated gem is. In my biased opinion, it compares to the quality level of SS and easily surpasses many top novels here (that I don't know how they are top in the first place, especially there being so many hidden gems like this one). The writing quality and grammar is ofc flawless for me to say this. At the time of writing, there are only 38 chapters in the novel, so it's in early stages right now. I'm sure that if the same quality and upload schedule persist, we will see this novel on the charts. As for other things, the characters and worldbuilding are, as mentioned before, top-quality like top novels. Alright, I've done enough glazing. Tl;dr- It's amazing, you'll miss out if you don't read. It's not a junk food novel, you'll need to stick a bit for it to charm you. You won't regret it. P.S. I read all the author notes, you cooking hard fr. And I don't like commenting, so here's a long review instead :)
I loved the writing style of this novel. The fights are fun to read. Highly recommended
I was never a fan of crazy MCs, nor do I expect him to become a refined scholar overnight. It is a novel with interesting concepts. I think that from the moment he fights the celestial demon, it left me with mixed emotions. I hope to continue seeing more facets of Xavier throughout the novel...
Amazing novel. Do read it. I really enjoyed the cool fights that happen, it makes me really excited. Great job author, keep making more chapters,I can't wait.
Very good novel. Not like the other typical ones out there. Story is easy to digest, yet this does not feel like a junk food novel. I'm eager to see how the Mc and fmc interact onwards, as their dynamic is unique and entertaining.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would've. This novel, simply put, is amazing. The characters feel alive, the worldbuilding is interesting for once, and there are stuff I feel like foreshadowing but I could just be overthinking stuff. One of my top recommendations if you like good MC and good action
Been following this author for a long time, you can rest assured that this is going to be straight fire🔥 16 chaps in and already liking it, give it a try
Love the characters, love the action, love the worldbuilding. No complaints here, just give it a try!
LESSGOOO this is back! Author, I hope you get a contract this time lol. This novel is straight up bussin. I come to here to read a thrilling action and this is exactly what it delivers! I love the complexity of our main characters and I can't wait till more get introduced. The lore that is cooking in the background and small hints dropped here and there seriously give me sleepless nights. If you drop this novel I will come for you.
I gotta say, LET. THE. AUTHOR. COOK. The way that everything just builds upon each other makes the world in this much more vast and detailed. The characters are awesome, such a fresh breath from the typical cold, unfeeling villain MCs. The MC in this somewhat feels like broly but smarter lol. Without spoiling, just don't be fooled and drop the novel early, I'll atleast read till ch 100 and update you guys as right now, each new chapter is just simply better than the one before.
I really loved the unique take on the main character we've gotten. Personally, I take it as a sign of a good novel, as all the best ones have a unique mc. It's much better than the cardboard cutouts of the same type of MC in every single new novel. The quality of this novel speaks for itself, just try it.
The story is really good and I love Xavier. Keep up the great work.
It's a decent story and also a sound and firm character development. The author also updates regularly (at least so far, unless he drops this) The writing quality is decent, but I feel like the author could use more pronouns in his narration, like for example - When Xavier is doing some action or when it's his pov, there's no need to mention his name frequently. Keep improving, bro. -Indian_Painter
Guess God finally gave me a good novel to read🥺
