THE DUSK

Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn.' – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

At AV High School,

The bell rang, its sharp tone echoing through the corridors and signaling the end of the break. Students, who had been scattered around the school grounds, quickly gathered their belongings and made their way back to the classroom. The energy of the lunch hour still lingered in their conversations and laughter, but it was now tempered by the anticipation of the final stretch of the school day.the teacher announced with a tone that balanced firmness ...

"Students , pay attention to your roll call if you miss I will not mark it later ."

The teacher continued with the roll call, counting off names monotonously. "1, 2, 3, 4..."

Amidst the roll call, one of Luis's goon Oliver muttered, "Hey, you should've gone easier on Squid."

Luis, with a dismissive wave, responded coldly, "It's not my fault. If he's so weak that he bores me, why should I care?"

Another gang member Jack snickered, "Whose fault is that? It's actually better for us. We can use him however we want. Hehe."

As Luis and his gang continued their animated discussion, the teacher's voice cut through the noise with an edge of desperation. "Hey! You lot, listen up! If you don't respond to the roll call, I'll mark you absent for the entire day!"

Luis, the tallest and most imposing figure in the class with his striking blond hair, glared down at the teacher with a menacing intensity. "What did you just say?"

The teacher, visibly intimidated by Luis's imposing presence, let out a nervous sigh. His voice trembled slightly as he lowered it to a hesitant whisper. "Just... just listen for your numbers."

Luis had developed the physique of an adult long before his peers. He had risen to the status of a provisional-level boxing champion, a title that should have marked the beginning of a promising career. However, his promising path was marred by his malicious behavior, which ultimately led to his expulsion from the sport. His reputation for aggression and lack of discipline was so intense that even his coach, was wary of confronting him directly so let alone his teachers. Luis's presence had become a source of fear, overshadowing his considerable talent and leaving a trail of unresolved issues in his wake.

Getting to know its about time to call roll of 'Class' forever bullied' even the teacher who get agitated by his own student bares fang..

"Where is number 48 ? He was here before break . Don't tell me he ran away later ? Do anyone of you know where he is ?"

"Sir , I saw him running away by main gate "

"Forget it ! Pull out sheet and write the question."

The teacher turns his back to write the questions on the board. The students, who had been silently listening to the lecture, finally have a chance to whisper to each other.

"What's the plan for today?" asked one student."InternetCafe," answered another, referring to their secret hang-out after school.

"I need to rank up..i will catch up to guys soon .."

" i don't know why but i feel sleepy.."

"Get some sleep dum**ss" yawns loudly,

"Look after yourself "

To their surprise, another student who had been quietly listening in the back row also yawned loudly, causing a wave of yawns to ripple through the classroom.

-----

After some time, the teacher noticed something strange. A few students seemed to be struggling to keep their eyes open, their heads drooping as they fought to stay awake. Gradually, it became apparent that one by one, students were losing consciousness. A wave of concern swept over the teacher as they watched in alarm, realizing that something was seriously wrong.

"It isn't time to sleep ..you brats....atleast go to your houses ..."

He goes to one of the students and pushes him a little but the student didn't wake up...the teacher gets frightened and rushes to principal..

"Sir… the students—they're all asleep!" Teacher Bordo's voice trembled, anxiety creeping into every word.

"Calm down, Teacher Bordo. Just explain to me what happened," the principal urged, his brow furrowing in concern as he tried to grasp the situation.

Suddenly, Teacher Lily rushed in, her face pale with worry, closely followed by Teacher Thompson. "Principal, sir! You need to see this—look at the students! They've all fallen asleep during class, and none of them are waking up! I even tried splashing water on their faces, but nothing worked!" Her voice was laced with panic, and her hands trembled slightly as she gestured toward the slumped figures in the classroom.

The principal's heart raced as he hurried over, his mind racing with dread. He checked each student's face, feeling their foreheads for warmth. "This isn't right," he muttered, his voice tight with fear. With a shaky breath, he reached for his phone to contact the parents, his hands clammy as he dialed, knowing the urgency of the situation. "We need to find out what's going on… quickly."
