"You see students, there is more to some things than it meets the eye. " Lady Fairmont  declared, from the onset, that he knew that Kai would win the match and that Nathan  would fail due to overconfidence. 

'This young lad, there is something strange about him, a tick beast but yet he moves with unparalleled speed and strikes with unimaginable strength, he thinks like a battle veteran, this boy has potential. ' Lady Fairmont  said, he had been observing Kai ever since he started fighting. 

In his mind, it was clear Kai knew a little bit of martial arts but his technique was sloppy, he did have good instincts and was an excellent tactician, but he could also notice a strange energy surrounding him, one that wasn't domineering and a bit premature. 

'This boy, I do not believe that his god is some useless dead god, he is hiding something. ' Lady Fairmont  thought, Lady Fairmont  was a smart woman and she knew Kai was hiding something. 

The way he was able to overcome both Nathan's spells and even make him beg, something was different about him.

"Now, everyone please take this as a lesson. " Lady Fairmont  said, she walked right up to Nathan who was still struggling with his friends.

With a mere look, she sent Nathan flying and crashing into a wall behind him,making Nathan  wince in pain, "The next time you call someone stronger than you trash, I will give you hell, do you understand me? " Lady Fairmont  said while looking straight into Nathan's eyes. 

Nathan  was too weak to reply so he just nodded his head with tears in his eyes, "Good, now run to the support mage type department, tell them I sent you . " Lady Fairmont  said and then she turned to face Kai. 

She looked at Kai's body but was surprised to see Kai with a smile, Kai had completely beaten Nathan without getting injured and it was impressive nonetheless.

'There is something strange about this boy, and I won't rest until I find it.' Lady Fairmont thought, Kai had piqued her interest.

Kai's stats were already so high thanks to his constant training in martial arts, and his endurance was high due to constant bullying.

Kai smiled on seeing his system tab, he had gotten stronger and he could feel it, he was sure he could match up to more people now. 

"Now, I believe we have wasted enough time, let us head to the Maverick  Block. " Lady Fairmont  said and the students began following him. 

After selecting a specialization students were to be trained for a few months before heading to their continent's academy where they would receive extensive veteran training before becoming fully-fledged Vanquishers and be needed to close Olympus gates.

"We are here. " Lady Fairmont  said as soon as they arrived at the Maverick  building, at the entrance was a statue of Lady Fairmont  herself with a sword held in one hand and a ball of energy held in the other. 

Past that were several small buildings that seemed to be residential areas for servants and Lady Fairmont  herself, there was also a huge and empty field of grass with weapons surrounding them and several wooden dolls which had human shapes in place, the whole place was a bit quiet and the smell of freshly cut grass was the most potent smell there, besides that nothing else could be seen. 

Lady Fairmont  made her way to the field of grass which also had a little stream running by and the students followed, some had already theorized what would be going on. 

There were huge trees surrounding the field of grass which provided shelter for the students and Lady Fairmont  to train in peace. 

Lady Fairmont  sat at the foot of a huge tree and instructed the students to sit on the other side of the lake under another set of trees. 

The number of students in the Maverick  specialization was around 20 including Nathan and Kai, and they were all seated comfortably. 

"A Maverick  is a unique specialization, it consists of the training of a Battle mage-type, that of a support mage-type.

it is a perfect and harmonious balance of both sides, and it excelled so well when it was first tried that it became a specialization of its own. 

However, a Maverick  cannot be called a full Battle Mage-type or a full Support mage-type.

As we all know a jack of all trades is a master of none. 

By the end of these few months of training, only a few of you will be selected as ready to go to the academy, while the rest of you will be trained further. 

Every day every one of you would receive theoretical knowledge on how to cast spells, fight, and use weapons, and then you would put into practice what you have learned against those wooden dolls over there. 

Your fighting skills would determine your rank in class and only the top ten would be recommended for the academy, there would be monthly duels to challenge people for their positions and the whole thing would be selected by me. 

This is how these classes would be graded until I die, the students who failed last year would also be joining you all to make the place livelier and more competitive. 

If you fail next year the same will be repeated in your case, if you fail this class twice, however, you will either choose a new department or you will kindly exit this school. 

There are also weekly duels among each department to determine the best, fail this and I will fail you.
