Aunt’s Resentment

Mrs. White's resentment towards Laura simmered just below the surface. She blamed Laura for her family's misfortunes, convinced that her presence had brought them bad luck.

Bella, Mella, and Fella, Mrs. White's children, shared their mother's animosity towards Laura. They saw her as an outsider, a constant reminder of their family's failures.

One day, while doing chores, Laura accidentally broke one of Mrs. White's prized possessions. The woman's anger boiled over, and she lashed out at Laura.

"You're so clumsy!" Mrs. White shouted. "You're a waste of space!"

Bella and Mella snickered, enjoying Laura's misfortune. Fella just rolled his eyes, uninterested.

Mr. White tried to intervene, but his wife's anger was too much. Laura felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, but she refused to cry.

As the days passed, Mrs. White's resentment only grew. She found fault in everything Laura did, criticizing her constantly.

Bella and Mella joined in, their cruel words piercing Laura's heart. Fella remained detached, but his silence was almost worse than his sisters' cruelty.

Laura felt like she was walking on eggshells, never knowing when Mrs. White's anger would erupt again. She longed for a way out, but it seemed impossible.

Here is the continuation of Chapter 2:

Mrs. White's constant belittling began to take its toll on Laura. She felt like she was shrinking, her confidence dwindling with each passing day.

One evening, while serving dinner, Laura accidentally spilled soup on the table. Mrs. White's face turned red with rage.

"Clumsy fool!" she shouted, slapping Laura's hand. "Can't you do anything right?"

Bella and Mella snickered, their eyes gleaming with malice. Fella just looked away, his expression unreadable.

Laura felt tears streaming down her face, but she refused to cry out loud. She knew it would only make things worse.

Mr. White tried to intervene, but his wife's anger was too much. "Leave her alone, Margaret," he said, but Mrs. White just glared at him.

Why do you keep taunting her huh,he said", she's just a child

"As if she's useful",she sneered

As the night wore on, Laura's tears dried, replaced by a simmering anger. She knew she couldn't take much more of this.

As she cleared the table, Laura caught Fella's eye. For a moment, she thought she saw a flicker of sympathy, but it was quickly extinguished.

Was Fella really as uncaring as he seemed, or was there something more beneath the surface? Laura wondered.
