Arius Pov (Present day)

I hated this, Leora's ability was the worst. It had really bad repercussions, not to say mine was any better. but for whatever reason hers were mentally scarring. For the ones on the brink of death I had to be here, mother always got mad when Leora tried to go it alone. I understood why though, when we were younger I fell from a tree instead of hitting the ground I landed on the metal bar of a fence that surrounded the area we were in it went right through my chest only myself and Leora were there. Leora used her light to pull me off the fence there was so much blood. She started healing me it was basic instinct for her. But every part of the wound she healed on me that same wound opened on her as blood started coming from her chest thats when my mother came screaming "Nooooo Leora stop!" But it was too late!

Any wounds Leora heals she ends up taking on herself, her body heals on its own thats why. But the wound she took from me her body couldn't heal fast enough. She was too young then, all she needed to do was hold on till her body healed it. So Mother turned back time and pulled me out of the tree before any of it happened. It was the first wrinkle that ever appeared on ma's face. If I was stronger I could've ohased through that fence, unfortunately I hadn't harnessed my ability then. Since then I have sworn to protect them, this Island and my family by any means necessary.

The reason I'm here, I'm like a grim reaper with human emotions. If there's ever a chance Leora let's go before the healing finishes, I can force her soul back into her body before it's too late. It's happened once before, Leora doesn't like when I do it though. I lose apart of myself everytime I use it, let's just say it chips away at my humanity. But she's determined to never need me again.Ironic how we both have a mutual hate of the others abilities, but ours go hand in hand.

Hisoki leaves the moment he smells the sterile room, he yells to his aunt Leora to paint the walls something other than white and disappears. The kid usually drops us somewhere weird, he's a funny little shit that one. But at least he knows when to be serious. Aside from the white walls the room has a couple of beds, a sink with a mirror with a bun next to it, a soap and sanitiser dispenser, a couple of trays that hold normal medical supplies like scissors, disinfectant, pain killers, gloves, masks and bandages. There is also a fridge full of blood bags, Most people think all these supplies are for the patients, but it's actually for Leora.

I get started pushing a bed to the left side of the room, drawing the curtain closed in the middle and setting up a second bed on the other side of it. There are no machines because well neither of us would know how to use them anyways. I asked the lady called Ina to follow me she's reluctant to leave her father but Leora tells her she can't stay for whatever comes next. I show her to a Guest room, show her the kitchen and tell her she can borrow Leoras clothes from the middle room at the top of the stairs, I have to hurry because Leora won't wait.

Right as I walked in Leora was pulling the mans severed leg from the black bag, she placed it on the bed unwrapped the older mans leg, which stunk really bad and she placed them together. I had to stop my face from srunching up, I examine her and see she has already pulled her long white hair into a ponytail, removed ber cloak and pants. She is standing in her boy shorts, with a bandage wrapped around her leg in the same place the old mans was severed, no doubt to stop it from falling off.

I move to grab the second bed I prepared and adjust it so she can sit and heal him, I know she will fall once the leg detaches, she nods to me in thanks and I tell Lucy to get some blood bags read. I see Leora already has an IV line in she's super smart my sister. I stand behind her holding the sides of her shoulders to stop her from slumping over. I see the familiar glow over her entire body, and the sweat forming on her forehead. Moments later blood starts to seep through the bandage, I yell to lucy to grab some morphine. But Leora turned her head to look at me, my eyes widen in shock. Her eyes a white not a spec of cappuccino, brown or black in them. She's going full power for this, she then whispers "not yet, there's an infection" she doesn't normally fully heal someone like this unless she has no choice, even I knew this man was gonna die within the hour if she didn't do this.

With the odour coming from her leg I knew she was almost done. Lucy looked on in horror and astonishment, I snatched the morphine from her hands and stabbed it in to Leoras arm and injected it, just as the glow left her hands and she passed out from the pain. I laid her down, pushing her bed back behind the curtain and covered everything but her leg and face, I needed to make sure it reattached otherwise it wouldn't heal, I yelled to Lucy "get a suture kit" and unwrapped her leg. Parts of the flesh had rotted that was the smell and her body was already trying to reattach the tissues but it had to fight off the infection and heal the rotting skin first. I asked Lucy "can you sow the leg back on best you can, I need to get warm water and towels." She attached a blood bag to Leoras IV just to help boost the healing.

Once Leora was stitched up I had warned Lucy "Everything you just saw doesn't leave this room. Your job is to monitor her, give her whatever she needs till she wakes. Once she's awake and well you can sleep am I understood?" Lucy looked terrified, a stark contrast to how stern her facials were when working on Leora, but she nods in agreement.

As I turn to walk out of the re-sus room Lucy asks "D-Does this happen every time s-sh-she heals someone?" I halt my footsteps and stare at her over my shoulder "relax I won't hurt you, but now you see why we require some form of payment and a hefty one at that." Lucy stands there for a moment "Can I not tell Ina about this?" With a stern airy voice I say "Are you a gambler doctor Lucy?" Lucy shakes her head fervently from left to right. Fully turning to face her with a menacing look "Life is a gamble at terrible odds, if it was a bet you wouldn't take it". I say,. Lucy gulps and moves to have a seat next to Leoras bed. All I can think about as I march out of the room in anger is how much I hate Leoras ability!
