Trouble for Leora

Once Leora made it to her room, she slumped against the door sliding down to the floor. She was exhausted and the leg hadn't fully reattached, if she didn't have the shot of morphine she would never have been able to get up off that bed and dress. But she knew full well she would feel all the pain soon. She used her light to move herself to the bathroom it was shaky, she then shrugged off her robe and slowly removed her pants taking off the bloody bandage a medium sized cut could be seen between the stitches slowly healing, a fever was gonna hit soon she at least wanted to rid herself of the stench before having to sweat her way through the rest of the morning since it was around 1:30am.

As she stood in the hot shower, she was trying to take the focus off her stinging leg. Her thoughts wondered to that woman named Ina, what the hell was she gonna do with her?. She face palmed at the fact she just accepted taking her life as a payment, maybe I should've clarified wasn't going to kill her. "Nah I'm sure she would figure it out" talking to herself. How about a maid? Remembering the woman's anger earlier she laughed "better not" she said out loud. I need to get to know her find her talents and see what she can do, I would also like to speak with her father and find out what kind of man he is. With her mind made up she washed her body the best she could with her coconut and honey body wash, her favourite scent. She left washing her long hair for when she had strength drying it would exert more energy than she had right now.

Drying herself and putting on her black silk pyjama shorts and a singlet. Leora stared at the fresh scar settling above the knee. Most healings never left scars unless they were near death. No one but her mother and Arius knew about the scars, she never wore anything that showed her chest and pants were a must. The only time her chest and legs were bare was when she was in bed like now. There were other scars that were naturally hidden by her clothes. Reminders that kept her grounded, it's a burden she must carry along with this ability. she could only hope he was a good man and worthy of it.

As she drifted to sleep the fever set in, it spiked higher than it had ever been before. Leora however was stuck in her slumber, trying to wake herself up. She felt a familiar presence next to her bed, they were speaking to her. "Mother!" Why is she here? She hardly ever leaves her estate! "Mother! Can you hear me!?" For some reason all Leora could see was darkness, only a flicker of her light would come to her enough to light a candle. What the hell is going on? I don't think she can hear me! Wait I have an idea, closing her eyes she concentrated and narrowed her focus on one person.

Appearing in a spiritual state next to Arius's bed she saw he was asleep "Arius" she saw his eyebrows furrow as she reached out to touch him she instantly regretted it. Hanan his wife had jolted awake shoving Arius off her in the process grabbing her arm hissing she looked over at Arius who started sweating profusely. She got up in a panic and ran into the bathroom, coming out with a bowl of cold water and a soaked face cloth. Leora tried again "Arius please wake up", Hanan placed the face cloth on Arius's forehead careful not to touch him. Feeling her last bit of light draining Leora yelled "you're the only one who can help me!" Arius sat straight up, his wife sighing frantically asking "Are you okay" she noticed that Arius's eye are pitch black and he's not responding to her. "Arius!" Hanan calls him, he starts looking around the room when he locks onto something on the his right. "Arius you're scaring me" his wife begins to cry.

"Can you see me Arius?" Leora says. He answers her with a nod "Somethings wrong, help me please". Just before she gets pulled away she heard Arius say "okay I'm coming". Darkness and heat that's all she could see and feel. Occasionally she would get some relief from the heat but it went away just as quickly as it came. All her light seemed to be going through her physical body trying to keep her temperature down, so she had no way of calling on any of it in this place. But it seemed to be getting hotter now, she wasn't sure how much longer she could stand this. Suddenly a cool breeze blew she sighed in relief, if she could get more of that she was sure she would be okay until Arius would come.

"A coward only threatens, when he thinks he is safe. But are you truly safe?" Leora says lifting her head slowly glaring straight ahead into the dark. Clap!, Clap!, Clap!. "Your reputation precedes you, I was getting a little bored thinking maybe you gave up" a baritone males voice replied. With a lopsided grin Leora replied "come back next century and I will exceed your expectations". A deep laugh resonates in the space "they say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, yet it remains the funniest". Feeling the heat again Leora responded with irritation "well A witty woman is a treasure, and a witty beauty is a power". Tap, Tap, Tap the man seemed to be pacing slowly back and forth. "If you're trying to seem Intelligent how about asking me a question?". Leora stayed silent trying to take her mind from the heat she said "How about you fuck off!" Giggling the man replied "tsk tsk Leora, well resume thjs conversation later seems like your brother has found a way in till next time".

A big hand landed gently on her shoulder, making her jump in fright."Leora?" Came a familiar voice. "Arius?" She said "yes it's me, what happened?" Taking in a deep breath Leora realised the heat had reduced considerably as if reading her mind "Reign" was all Arius said before she could ask.
