Chapter 16

Back to present

Isa felt relieved that she had managed to calm the crowd and prevent them from shouting. She removed the veil from her head, picked up the stone, and considered throwing it at Jack's car. But then she realized that wasn't like her, so she dropped the stone and headed back home.

When she arrived, she saw everyone packing their belongings and wondered what was happening. Mrs. Amelia approached her and explained, "The landlord came with an eviction notice this morning. Aiden applied for a job at the Mayor's mansion."

Isa's anxiety grew as she asked, "What kind of job?" She was stunned to learn that Aiden would be working as a gatekeeper and she would be working as a cook. They would be living in the cottage next to the mansion.

Isa thought to herself, wondering what her mother-in-law and father-in-law would be doing. "Relaxing, I suppose," she thought sarcastically.

Her mother-in-law broke the silence, saying, "Alright, let's get packing. We begged the landlord to let us stay for tonight, but we have to leave tomorrow morning before sunset." Isa nodded, still trying to process the news. She thought of Elias and decided to go check on him.

Jack hugged Allison from behind, his lips brushing against her ear. "I've been waiting all day to open this," he whispered, his voice trembling with excitement.

Allison smiled, feeling his warmth and enthusiasm. "Me too," she replied, her hands shaking slightly as she held the envelope.

Jack turned her around, his eyes sparkling. "You realize it's been a month since the test? I feel like I've been waiting forever."

Allison nodded, her heart racing. "I know, me too. Let's open it together."

Allison's hands trembled with excitement as she opened the envelope containing the IVF results. Jack stood beside her, his eyes shining with anticipation.

The paper read:

"IVF Test Results:

- Fertilization successful

- Embryo development: Normal

- Pregnancy confirmed

Allison squealed with delight, and Jack wrapped his arms around her, spinning her around in a joyful circle.

"We did it, we're having a baby" Allison exclaimed.

Jack beamed, "And it's all thanks to the IVF treatment."

Allison's eyes sparkled, "I know, I was so worried it wouldn't work. But we did it, Jack We're going to be parents"

Jack's face lit up, "I know, it's amazing And Sarah said the embryo is developing normally, so everything looks great."

Allison nodded, still grinning, "I feel like I'm on cloud nine. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and it's all going to be a dream."

Jack pulled her close, "It's not a dream, Allison. We're really doing this. We're going to have a family."

As they hugged, Jack's room was filled with laughter and tears of joy, the IVF results brings them one step closer to their dream.

Here's the continuation:

As Jack and Allison celebrated, the door burst open and Jack's grandparents, parents, and other family members poured in, surprise written all over their faces.

"Congratulations, you two!" Jack's grandfather boomed, a wide smile on his face.

"We're so thrilled for you" Jack's grandmother added, tears shining in her eyes.

The room erupted in cheers and hugs, with everyone congratulating the expecting couple.

Jack's grandfather, a twinkle in his eye, said, "We've got a special gift for you both. A name for your little one."

Allison's eyes widened in surprise. "A name?"

Jack's grandfather nodded. "Yes, we've been thinking about it for weeks. If it's a boy, we want you to name him Ethan, after me. And if it's a girl, we want you to name her Emily, after Jack's grandmother."

The room fell silent, with everyone looking at Jack and Allison expectantly.

Before they could respond, Jack exclaimed, "Actually, I've always wanted a girl, I have already thought if the perfect name - Julia!"

The room erupted in cheers and applause, with everyone excitedly chattering about the party plans.

But Allison's face fell, looking unhappy,"uh, Jack, we had already discussed names" she said trying to hide her disappointment.

Jack's Mom spoke up, "oh what did you two have in mind?"

Allison hesitated, "well, if it's a boy, we like the name Lucas, and if it's a girl we like the name Ava."

Jack's face lit up with a mischievous grin. But I've always wanted a girl, and Julia is the perfect name! It ends with 'ia', just like i always wanted."

Allison's Expression turned from disappointment to anger. "Your not even considering my choices? She said, her voice rising.

Jack shrugged, " I just really like Julia, the name is perfect"

Allison shook her head, feeling frustrated and ignored. "Forget it," she says, turning to work away.

Jack's Mom noticed the tension and quickly intervened. "Okay, let's not fight about this now. We can discuss it later."

But Allison was already gone, walking out if the room in Anger. Jack look after her, realising he might have made a mistake.

"Mom, I think I should go talk to her," Jack said, starting to follow Allison.

"Yes go" his Mom said. Jack was trying to stop Allison from leaving, Jack's Mom hope that they clear their misunderstanding.

As they glided along the main road, Isa's gaze drifted out the window, her eyes drinking in the vibrant scenery. A soft smile played on her lips, her face aglow with a quiet joy.
