Chapter 15: The Birthday Present

I froze, mortified. Of all the laps in the world, I had to stumble onto his. Just when I thought things were looking up, the universe had to pull this on me.

My entire body was exuding mortification. Why did it have to be him? The walking embodiment of everything that irritated me, and apparently, my human chair.

I quickly retracted my hands from his chest, placing them on my own lap. It wasn’t like I hated having my hands there… they felt strong, toned, and just as perfect as he was.

I couldn’t believe I was basically straddling him right now. And oh god, were those his... pecs? They felt like rocks. Who even has pecs like that? It was ridiculous. And why wasn’t he shoving me off? Didn’t he realize I probably weighed as much as a small elephant?

My legs had turned to mush, preventing me from getting off of him. I could barely feel them nor pry them into obeying a simple command.
