Zoan · Mythical Beast Species · Fish-Fish Fruit (Azure Dragon Form - Ultimate Level)
These words immediately caught Carlos' attention.
Kaido's other abilities were as expected, but what surprised Carlos was that Kaido had pushed the Fish-Fish Fruit's development to the ultimate level. Could it be that what Big Mom originally gave Kaido was just an ordinary Zoan-type Fish-Fish Fruit? After countless battles, continuous evolution, and finally awakening, it transformed into the mythical Azure Dragon?
Come to think of it, Luffy seems to be in a similar situation with his own fruit.
Carlos felt like he had stumbled upon a remarkable secret.
But no matter the circumstances, Kaido was now his clone, and his growing power would naturally benefit Carlos as well.
Over the next few days...
Carlos became increasingly familiar with Kaido's body. Occasionally, he transformed into a massive dragon, soaring through the clouds, covering thousands of miles in a single day. He could even summon flame clouds to lift islands or unleash destructive heat breath across the deserted seas when he felt restless.
The experience was exhilarating. With Kaido's body, Carlos was having the time of his life as he flew towards Beehive Island.
Meanwhile, on another front, after receiving emergency treatment, Bartholomew Kuma was out of danger and able to move again. Vegapunk had finished organizing all the research data and equipment on Egghead Island.
A week later, the main team, including Vegapunk, Carlos, and others, arrived at Marineford on a warship.
At Vegapunk's urgent request, Carlos led him to a secret warehouse. Upon seeing the supplies and massive piles of Beli before him, Vegapunk finally breathed a sigh of relief.
True to his word, Carlos allocated 20 billion Beli on the spot. Under Ain's supervision, in just a few days, ten state-of-the-art training rooms were completed.
Marineford Training Camp...
Under the blazing sun, a group of Marine soldiers were vigorously training, their sweat pouring down in rivers. Despite the scorching heat, they remained focused, determined to improve their strength.
No superior officer had ordered them to do this; they were driven by their own ambitions. They knew that in this chaotic world, if they wanted to survive, gain wealth, fame, and status... strength was everything.
For those lacking natural talent, the only way forward was through sheer hard work and sweat.
One Marine soldier wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at the sky, sighing.
"Joseph, did you hear? Soon, we'll be able to exchange military service for a Devil Fruit!"
His comrade, Joseph, didn't stop his training. "Johnny, I'm not giving up that easily."
"I traveled thousands of miles from East Blue, and I was lucky enough to catch the wave of Marine reforms. I refuse to stay a pirate hunter forever."
"I want to become stronger! I want to be someone big!"
Johnny shook his head. "It's not enough, man. Haven't you seen the combat rankings? Out of 150,000 soldiers, we barely rank 50,000th. Even with Lord Hawkeye's guidance, no amount of training will get us a spot on the next mission."
Suddenly, a loud broadcast interrupted their conversation.
"All personnel, report to the square immediately for assembly."
As the soldiers lined up, Carlos pointed toward ten newly constructed buildings not far away.
"You've all noticed those, haven't you?" Carlos said, addressing the assembled Marines. "These are special training rooms. Training here will increase your progress several times over!"
The crowd erupted in murmurs.
"What? Did I hear that right?" one Marine exclaimed. "Can training really be that effective? This sounds too good to be true!"
A few soldiers looked skeptical. "It's just a bunch of ordinary rooms. How could they be that special?"
An older soldier, more experienced, shook his head. "You're underestimating Mr. Carlos. If he says it works, it works."
"Quiet!" Momousagi snapped, her expression serious. "These ten training rooms cost 20 billion Beli! Their sole purpose is to help you train harder, improve faster, and contribute to our fight against the pirates!"
She glanced at Carlos out of the corner of her eye. Even she had been skeptical at first—could something like this really offer a shortcut to becoming stronger?
As if sensing her doubt, Carlos chuckled. "There's no point in just talking about it. Gion, why don't you demonstrate for everyone?"
"By the way, be cautious..." Carlos added, giving her a cryptic warning.
Confused but trusting Carlos, Gion stepped forward without hesitation.
The moment she entered the room, her expression changed drastically. A crushing pressure hit her from all directions, forcing her bones to creak under the strain. Even her heart felt heavy, the pressure threatening to overwhelm her.
Caught off guard, Gion collapsed to the ground, struggling to catch her breath. It took her several moments to adjust to the environment. Drenched in sweat, she eventually managed to rise shakily to her feet.
The surrounding Marines gasped in astonishment.
"Vice Admiral Momousagi! What's going on?"
"Even someone as strong as Momousagi-sama can barely handle it. What chance do we have?"
"This is terrifying... the effect must be incredible!"
"What kind of place is this?"
Carlos calmly explained, without showing off.
"This special training room can alter gravity within this area. Right now, it's set to twice the normal gravity."
As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd erupted.
"What? It can change gravity? That's insane!"
"How is something like this even possible?"
"If it can go up to ten times the gravity and even Vice Admiral Momousagi struggles... this is unbelievable!"
Both Marines and officers alike stared at Carlos with a mix of fear and awe.
While the crowd was still murmuring, Momousagi suddenly shouted out.
"What a shocking effect!"
They watched as she unsheathed her sword and began practicing in a ten-square-meter area within the room. Her movements were slow and labored, clearly strained by the intense pressure.
However, her expression gradually shifted—from initial pain and discomfort, to disbelief, and finally to sheer exhilaration.
Seeing the look on her face, the crowd quickly understood.
Ten times gravity!
Under such pressure, the training effects would be extraordinary!
Some of the Marines who believed in their strength stepped forward, pushing past the others to enter the circle.
But the moment they stepped inside, without exception, they collapsed onto the floor. Their faces turned bright red as they struggled to move.
"It feels like my body is being crushed..."
"I can't... I can't breathe..."
"Help! Get me out of here!"
Carlos, seeing their predicament, shook his head with a slight smile and reached out to pull them out.
"With your current level of strength, ten times gravity is too much. Instead of benefiting from it, you'll just end up hurting yourselves."
He paused and added, "Training should always be done within your limits, step by step."
He gestured towards the other training rooms. "The other rooms have varying levels of gravity, from two times to ten times. I recommend starting at two times and gradually working your way up."
A wave of excitement rippled through the crowd.
At first, seeing how those before them had struggled, many thought they'd never be able to use such a facility. But now, hearing Carlos's explanation, hope rekindled within them.
"Mr. Carlos is really looking out for us!" someone exclaimed.
With renewed enthusiasm, the Marines rushed to the other training rooms, eager to test their limits.
At first, many stumbled, struggling under the influence of the increased gravity. But as they adjusted, expressions of joy began to spread across their faces.
"This is incredible! The training effect is beyond anything I've experienced before!"
"It's not just the muscles... even my bones and internal organs are being put under immense pressure! This way, my entire body is getting a workout!"
"This is amazing! After just a short session, I feel more progress than I usually make in an entire day!"
Excitement was contagious. The Marines blushed with enthusiasm, eyes gleaming with hope as they looked towards Carlos with admiration.
What did it mean to increase training efficiency several times over? Even those with mediocre talent knew that with such a facility, they could eventually achieve greatness.
For example, if one could withstand ten times gravity...
One day of training would equal ten regular days.
A year's worth of training would be equivalent to ten years.
Even someone with average talent could see the immense potential such a gap would create!
Carlos watched the crowd, clearly satisfied with their reactions.
"Don't get too excited just yet," he said, raising his voice. "I'm not done talking."
The once-rowdy group quickly fell silent, all eyes fixed on him, eager to hear more.
