Seeking a fresh start, Avery Chen, the abandoned daughter of a well-known mafia lord, enrolls in a top university. Rather, she discovers she is in the middle of a dangerous network of academics and criminal activities. Avery draws the attention of campus golden boy Lucas Sterling as she is bullied for her family ties but she politely denies his interest. Expert assassin Avery pays for her schooling by means of high-stakes operations. Her world meets Lucas's when she finds out he is in charge of a competitor criminal group. As Lucas and his estranged brother Damien come to see Avery could be the key to bringing their disparate groups together, Avery must negotiate her feelings, her mission, and the dangerous underground of college organized crime. Avery battles to find the truth about her father's desertion and create her own path, therefore her particular abilities both help and hinder her. Will Avery be swallowed by the criminal underworld in a society where loyalties shift like sand?
Writing Quality: Hands down for the smooth flow of the story, as there were no grammatical errors I have seen all through the 17 chapters I have read at first. Only seen one error, which is a wrong name mentioned of the Sterling brothers. Updating Stability: I could see that the author has a set schedule of 4 chapters per week for the updates, which isn’t bad at all. If more chapters would be added, like making it 7 chapters/day, maybe there’s the likelihood the story would gain more readership. Story Development: The story got me hooked instantly, chapter per chapter, because the elements of suspense, surprise, and anticipation remained that kept me entertained and focused on what’s to come next. Character Design: As the main character was introduced, I could see that there is more than meets the eye with her development as the catalyst in the evolution of the duality of her own life engaged in the nature of the underworld crime scene and of the academy's. Even the other characters who were involved with the MC are all differentiated with their respective roles in the world they are engaged to. World Background: For every scene taking place where our MC and the other characters are involved, it’s all being orchestrated within this famous university, and not less than the ambiguous world of criminals with enemies pitting against each other. Overall, keep it up, author!
For some reasons I thought I would be able to scroll fast to the end of each chapter, but I must confess that got glued to them line by lines... a one novel filled with emotions, morals and lessons.. Keep it up author
