Chapter 10

The more she walked at the front, Kaylee took steps backward.

“Why was my dear sister running away when she saw me?” Rhiannon asked with a smile on her face but her eyes were cold.

“You! Aren’t you dead?” Kaylee asked full of fear.

“What? Does my sister want me dead so badly so that she can take away my shares and my fiancée?” Rhiannon asked her making the latter speechless.

“Rhiannon, is that how you are talking to your younger sister?” her father rebuked her.

Rhiannon’s eyes finally left Kaylee and looked at her beloved father.

“Father, you guys couldn’t wait till you buried ‘me’ before you gave the company to Kaylee?” Rhiannon asked with a pained look on her face.

“But aren’t you fine?” Her father retorted.

“Well, how don’t you know that I am not a ghost?” Rhiannon asked causing Kaylee to scream.

“So, you are dead and you still appear in front of me? Why do you hate me so much?” Kaylee asked in a loud voice making everyone present speechless at her foolishness.

“Is it the person who is supposed to take over the company? I am afraid that the company will be ruined by her if she does,” Rhiannon said with a snicker.

“Why is second miss so sure that eldest miss is dead? It is as if she was present when eldest Miss died. Wasn’t it said that nobody was seen at the crime scene?” the reporter from Flash Media asked.

“This…” Kaylee tried explaining herself but nothing could come out of her mouth.

She knew that she had messed up and lost control of herself.

“My daughter didn’t mean like that. The house was burnt down and we didn’t find Rhiannon’s body thus we thought that she was burnt till she turned to ashes,” Mr Clark said immediately when he saw Kaylee’s pale face.

“I have a question. Why do you all seem as if you saw me in that house? How sure are you I was there when the fire broke out?” Rhiannon asked while staring at Kaylee.

“Impossible. We left you in that apartment before we…” Kaylee stopped talking when she discovered she had nearly said what they had done.

“Before you did what? Also, who are you talking about? You and who? And why were you in my fiancée’s house?” Rhiannon asked question after question making Kaylee frustrated.

“I…I….” Kaylee couldn’t find the right thing to say.

“Enough! You are just here to ruin your sister’s day! I will deal with you when we get back home!” her father said angrily as he knew that he had lost face in public and what he cared most about was face.

“Her day? Huh? If it weren’t for the fact that you think I am dead, could she have the chance to take over the company? Also, I am not dead yet, doesn’t that mean the so-called will is invalid? As far as I remember, I never transferred the shares to her,” Rhiannon said coldly.

Kaylee glared at Rhiannon as she wondered why the latter wasn’t dead yet.

‘How could she have escaped the fire? She isn’t even hurt or disfigured! What kind of good luck does she have?’ Kaylee asked herself as she couldn’t believe it.

“That….” Her father stammered as he wondered what to do.

“As everyone here heard what they said previously, the largest shareholder is supposed to be the president of the company. They even announced my shares. I have 55 percent shares while they have thirty or should I say my dearest sister has 30% shares,” Rhiannon said coldly as she stared at her family who glared at her wishing they could kill her.

“No! You can’t!” Kaylee said loudly as she couldn’t accept it.

“What? Did the other shareholders have an issue when you were claiming to be the president as you are the majority shareholder? Now you expect me to remain silent and let you be the president? Impossible!” Rhiannon replied coldly as she glared at the latter causing Kaylee to take steps backwards due to fear.

“Is there any shareholder with an issue with the decision?” she asked as she looked at the old and middle aged men and women.

“No! You are so talented and we know that with you as the president, the company will reach higher. You took after your mother,” one of them said.

“Yes, when your mother was leading the company, it used to dominate the designing industry in the city and was top ten in the country but since she left. It’s such a pity,” a woman added.

“What they are saying is the truth. You took over your mother. You have already proved to us that you are a genius in that industry thus we are so positive and supportive of you being our president,” her mother’s most trusted confidant said making Rhiannon smile but deep down, she missed her mother every second she heard her mother’s praises.

“No, I disagree,” Kaylee said with a lot of hatred.

“Oh, my dear sister. That doesn’t concern you but since you are also a shareholder, we will surely listen to you but the majority have already voted for me to be their president,” Rhiannon said in a mocking tone.

Kaylee clenched her hands into a fist and gritted her teeth wishing that she could kill Rhiannon.

“Anyways, I do understand that you want to take what belongs to me once that is what you have always done since you came home. Although she could have gotten some things when I was dead, the death has rejected me entirely. However, I can give you that cheating bastard as you also want it. After all, not even a day ended when you unnoticed that you are the one who is going to get married,” Rhiannon said causing the reporters to be excited as they felt there was some juicy news while the Clark family’s faces were white due to paleness.

“You can have him but forget the company that was founded by my mother! Forget about getting my shares or becoming the president as I am the rightful heir or should I say, president!”

Her eyes were cold different from her usual innocence and cuteness.

Anyone who knew her wondered what had really changed her as the latter always saw the positive side of people and never the bad side, Also, when facing something or betrayal, she would let them be and trust them claiming that they didn’t have any other choice.

“Thank you everyone for coming here today. I will send some gifts to join as a thanks,” Rhiannon said to the reporters with a charming yet polite smile.

“Now, I am the president, Mr Clark, don’t you think that you should leave now that you have nothing to do with the company?” she said coldly yet arrogant as she glanced at her father.

“Don’t be so arrogant Rhiannon! Do you think you can get the company even when you are the majority shareholder? Too naïve!” her father said with a laugh causing the reporters who had stood up to leave halt and continue recording.

‘What do you mean?” Rhiannon asked as her eyes were full of confusion.

“Miss, the will left behind by shares when you are married. Since you aren’t, you can’t be the president or have the shares although they are yours. They will continue to be under your father’s control.”
