Chapter Two

Eric's POV

I was really happy to begin a new life in  Los Angeles. Life in New York was not really easy for me. I had lost my mom while I was in New York, though my dad remarried. I still preferred my mom to my step mom.I was really happy to start life all over.

I started school three weeks after we moved to Los Angeles. I was kind of nervous on my first day, though, but it turned out great. I met this girl called Claire. She was really nice, but it seemed like she was easily distracted in class, like something kept bugging her. I wanted to ask her about it, but I felt like it was something personal, so I decided to let it off the hook.

Claire's POV

I was really relieved when I got home. Today was really full of bumps. I walked into my room and took off the necklace Liam gave me two years ago. My heart still stung. Whenever I realised he was actually gone forever, I put the necklace back on. After he died, I never took it off. Even during swimming practice, I swam with it. I was just too attached to let him go just like that.

I just decided to watch movies till my parish came back, I put on the television, but a knock on the door interrupted my moment of peace. I saw Emily and Ivy at the door, I was kind of surprised because normally they would inform me they were coming over. Hey guys, what a surprise I said, I know right, go get dressed, we have somewhere to go, Emily said as she was grinning from ear to ear. I laughed. I didn't even try to resist because I knew it would be pointless.

Within two minutes, I was done. I applied a little bit of makeup and wore a half cut top and cargo pants. I put on my snickers, and we were ready to go.

Ivy drove us to a duplex house, and from the look of it, a party was going on.

Ugh!!! Why didn't you tell me we were coming to a party? I asked, getting frustrated because you would obviously not come Ivy said as she rolled her eyes. Both of them planned this and made sure I came here, I guessed their plan worked. They both high-fived themselves, and I just rolled my eyes at them.

We got into the house, it was a really beautiful one, I asked Ivy who the host of the party was, and she told me it was Eric father. Hold on, Eric, the new boy in our class today? Yea Emily said. His father is throwing a housewarming party, Ivy told me. Ohh wow, I said in astonishment.

As the party kept going on, I felt like the music was really getting louder and louder, which made it uncomfortable for me. I slipped away from Emily and Ivy yo go and look for somewhere quiet. Luckily for me, I was able to find the balcony quickly. The noise was much less there, so I just sat on the bench.

Ohh I didn't expect to see you or anyone here, Eric's voice jolted me back to reality. Ohh hi Eric, I didn't know here was off-limits I'll leave. Who said it was off-limit? I just said I didn't think I'll see you here, Eric said, smiling. I was really thankful that I was allowed to stay here. Going to that back downstairs to the party was not an option for me. Great party, I said to him. Nah, I know it's not great. No, it is. Really, I told him. If it's great, then why are you here he asked me with an eyebrow raised. That made me laugh. Well, I don't really like partying.

Oh, you don't? I had never heard that from anyone before, he said as he seemed to be surprised.

Nope.

Why? He asked. Because they're always too loud, and I really hate loud arena's.

Oh, I see. Well, I will be going to the   viddle Light Beach on Friday at noon. It's not a loud place, so I assumed you would be there? Umm... I struggled to reply because it looked like he was asking me on a date.

Claire, it's time to go, I heard Emily's voic, oh,  she came just on time.

Sorry Eric,  but I've got  to go. I said as I quickly walked out of the balcony.

Bye, see you tomorrow. Eric said as he gave me a weird but gorgeous smile. The kind that spelt out "you won't get away, this was only a little interruption"

Anyway, I  shrugged it off from my mind, delighted to go back home.

So what was that?

What? Claire common don't play dumb, Emily said to me as she gave me her serious yet playful look. I'm  talking about what you and Eric were discussing in his balcony.

Oh, that it was nothing I said as I looked away from both of them, threatening gaze. Okay, fine, he was just only asking if I wanted to go to the beach with him. That's all.

Emily screeching voice almost burst my ear drums. Yayy, she exclaimed, I knew it. I knew Claire and Eric were meant to be together right from time.

I could only laugh at Emily stupid assumption, common Emily. You know that's not possible.

Claire, don't tell me you are still troubling with moving on from Liam,Ivy asked with a very serious concern look on her face. I just kept quiet, I couldn't say anything because I really haven't moved on from Liam. A huge part of me was still hoping for me to wake up and see his face again.

When we reached my house, Ivy got down with me she wanted to talk with me about Liam.

Claire, I thought you had gotten better. I could only stare at my toes, I couldn't look at her in the face. Claire common, you have to move on. Trust me, he won't be happy watching you from heaven doing this to yourself. Are you sure? I asked her with tears in my eyes. Of course, dear, of course she said and hugged me. Promise me you'll take proper care of yourself going forward? I promise.

Wow wow wow, Emily said as she clapped rhythmically, I can really see some mother-daughter relationship going on here. I laughed. Emily just knew when to crack her perfect jokes. I bade both of them goodnight as I walked into my house. I was really grateful to God that I had someone like Ivy by my side. She was like the mother of our little trio group.

My parents weren't back, so I decided to have dinner alone. They really aren't always late, just sometimes.

Eric's POV

I was really getting tired from all the loud music. My dad decided to throw a party in our new neighbourhood for an   absolute anonymous reason. I asked him about it, he only told me I'll see soon, I didn't bother myself to think about it further. I went up to our balcony to get some fresh air, I was really surprised to Claire there. I mean, I didn't even know she was at the party.

I walked up to greet her. She seemed to be lost in her thoughts, which was like always ever since I knew her. She told me she didn't like loud places like parties, so I decided to ask her to come to viddle Light Beach with me. I always went there for surfing practice, she was about to reply to me when one of her friends I think her name was Emily, interrupted us. I was glad she interrupted us because that would make Claire think about it properly.

Hey guys, thank you so much for coming this far on Impossible Love. Kisses from me to you. Don't forget to let me know about any problem in the comment section:)
