Chapter 5

When Avery returned, she put all her bought clothes in the washing machine, then brought out her suitcase, and checked if her documents were complete. She had twenty sets of IDs and visas-her other job required her to travel to places.

She took out a special suitcase for her weapons, which would pass through the airport's security unnoticed.

Inside, she carefully organized different guns and bullets- ranging from silver, iron, and wooden bullets- suitable for dealing with all kinds of supernatural creatures.

Next, she brought out the dried clothes, folded them quickly, and placed them inside her main suitcase. On top, she added two sets of bandages before zipping it close. Looking around to see if she was missing anything, OH! her toiletries. She added that to the suitcase as well.

The suitcase was already bulging, but she managed to fit everything in. She set it aside, picking up her phone she booked a night flight.

She covered all her furniture with white nylon to prevent dust and emptied her fridge. She was lucky it there were only six blood bags left, she could fit them in her handbag.

By the time she was done, it was already 5 pm, and the flight was at 7 pm. She checked her disguise in the mirror to make sure nothing was out of place and wished herself luck in the mirror before turning off the lights and grabbing her suitcases and her handbag.

A few steps out of the door, she noticed something was off-how does a female handbag match a youthful male appearance? She facepalmed, sighed, and reopened her suitcase. kneeling on the ground, she struggled to force her bag inside, sitting on it to close it. Flushed from the effort, she finally managed to close it and collapsed on the ground tired.

She blamed her blood phobia for making her the weakest vampire in history- just a bag already used up all her strength.

''If I could drink fresh blood, I wouldn't be so weak," she muttered under her breath. Then suddenly remembering, she shouted, ''Don't tell me I forced my blood inside too!''

"Ahhhh!" She screamed in frustration. There was no way she was opening this suitcase again, sigh.. she would have to buy blood bags on the way, her face scrunched in disgust, remembering the ones sold in the vending machine tested awful.

She will just have to make do, dragging her three suitcases down the stairs. As she reached her car, she remembered her friend Emily and texted her.

She typed with one hand while using the other to close the car boot.

*Typing....

"(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻, you bitch, you remember me now after ditching me yesterday?"

"(╥﹏╥) Sorry, it was an emergency...but I have good news. Guess what."

"( •_•) -♪♪ our friendship is over."

A smile broke out of her face when she read the text, already used Emily being dramatic. She got into her car and decided to drop a bomb on her friend.

"(•‿•) Since it's none of your business, I'll still tell you. I got a job as a personal assistant to CEO Lucas Black. Here's the proof. I'm on my way to the airport now. Take care! ( ˘ ³˘)♥ ~★"

She sent a blowing kisses emoji and went offline, laughing evilly in her mind. She counted to five, and her ringtone blasted through the car, she took her time and drove out of her parking space before she answered, putting it on speaker.

"WHAT!!!" Emily's piercing scream made Avery wince. She felt her ears ringing. "My ears! Stop screaming."

"Stay at the airport, Don't move an inch. I'm on my way!" Avery heard a car screeching in the background as Emily hung up. She didn't even ask which airport, guess she is going to hack her location again.

She drove passed the cars, lowering her window to the breeze blow on her face. She switched on the radio, gripping the steering wheel, and sang along with the song in a high-pitched, soothing voice, nodding her head to the beat.

An hour later, she arrived at the airport, parking, she was about to get down when a black shadow leaped through her open window.

The black cat moved to the other side and transformed into a chocolate-skinned covered with fur, hiding her nudeness, a tail, and cat ears that hadn't changed to normal. This was Emily, her best friend, and a werecat.

"Give me full gist-when, how, why!" Emily bombarded Avery with questions, her gold feline eyes impatient for answers.

"How the hell did you get here before me?" Avery asked, shocked. Emily leaned closer to her face, she used one hand to push her back.

"It doesn't matter. Tell me...." She demanded, grabbing Avery by the shoulder, and shaking her so hard that Avery felt her organs were shifting.

"Stop! I'll tell you- calm down. Wait, how did you even recognize me?" Avery quickly checked her disguise in the car's rearview mirror. Everything was in place.

"Hmph! Even if you are covered in mud, I'd still recognize you," Emily snorted, pointing at her nose, "You can't hide from me, Now spill."

"Okay, Okay...On Friday, when the sun rose in the sky, and the birds sang sweet songs.. hahaha....stop...I will talk." She was tickled on the side, making dodge as she laughed.

She finally told Emily everything except her mysterious death, Emily stared wide-eyed in relish almost missing a bowl of popcorn.

This was the most entertaining, mind-blowing gossip she had ever listened to in a while, she was itching to follow Avery and experience more office gossip.

"I heard Lucas Black is handsome and single...hmm..." Seeing Emily's unfinished sentences and suggestive winks, she knew messy thoughts were floating in Emily's mind.

"I'm going there to work, not to seduce my boss. Remove that filthy thought from your mind... If you are looking for an office romance, I can recommend you...not gonna happen in reality." Avery retorted, dragging Emily's ear and shouting into her skull.
