Chapter 25: Anger

Before the conversation could finish, Sun Lin abruptly interrupted, "Good, good! So, the money of the living is worth less than a few words from the dead? Don't think that just because you two are experts, you can avoid karma. If there really is such a thing as karma, then why are there still so many evil people in the world who haven't died? Do you think I can't hire anyone? I have friends in Ming Port. I'll go there and hire a real expert. I refuse to believe I can't deal with him!"

She was furious, her face flushed with anger, her brows furrowed, and she pointed towards the door. "Please, leave. I won't see you out!"

It was unexpected; her fiery attitude was a stark contrast to the gentle and demure image she had shown the day before.

Tang Mizi, as they were leaving, said to Sun Lin, "Ms. Sun, you're very confident that you can easily find an expert to deal with your ex-boyfriend. Then why are we even here? Who knows if your factory will still be standing when you bring someone over? Perhaps tonight, it won't just be soy sauce that's lost. I hope your expert arrives quickly so you can meet with us."

Sun Lin was stunned, then looked up and sarcastically said, "I'm not an ordinary woman that you can scare off with a few words. How things turn out is none of your concern. I'm going to hire Master Lu Ming from Ming Port. Are you two brave enough to give it a try? I can always rebuild my factory, but losing the man I care about is absolutely unacceptable!"

Lu Ming!

Luo Li's heart skipped a beat. Tang Mizi, however, didn't take it seriously, thinking it was laughable that a soy sauce business owner from Ma County could hire Lu Ming from Ming Port.

After leaving the soy sauce factory, the two of them decided not to stay at the hotel Sun Lin had booked. Instead, they went back to pack up their things and planned to find a new place to stay. They had to help the ghost brother, and with only two and a half days left, it was a race to see if Sun Lin's hired master would arrive first or if Luo Li and Tang Mizi would act faster.

Meanwhile, Sun Lin, after throwing a tantrum in the office, immediately had her driver take her to Laifeng City in Rongxi Prefecture. She booked the earliest flight to Ming Port, indicating that she indeed had connections there.

Although Kang Thirteen's daughter hadn't appeared, she kept a close watch on the situation. Seeing Sun Lin leave for Laifeng, she went to find Luo Li. She went to their previous hotel but found it empty. Kang Thirteen's daughter didn't think to check if they had moved.

Eventually, she found them in a restaurant and complained about not being informed of their change of location.

Luo Li, thinking she was worried they might leave without paying, smiled and explained that they hadn't had the chance to inform her.

At that moment, Kang Thirteen's daughter cast aside her concerns about money and started worrying about Luo Li and Tang Mizi. She had been in the business of handling ghosts and had never heard of Lu Ming, but she knew that Ming Port had a reputation for being a place where many experts gathered.

Luo Li reassured her that while he hadn't encountered Ming Port's experts before, he had dealt with similar situations. He wasn't too worried about the person Sun Lin had hired.

Tang Mizi looked at him with a puzzled expression, clearly not understanding.

Luo Li shook his head and then nodded. Tang Mizi remained confused and looked incredulous. Luo Li had to say, "I'll explain the details later."

Kang Thirteen's daughter, annoyed by their cryptic behavior in her presence, thought to herself, "These two shameless Taoists won't tell me anything. Am I supposed to learn their skills or is this some competition for business?"

"Hey, hey, how can you two not understand? Give this girl some white wine," a waitress shouted as she brought out dishes.
