Raj always liked mythology, and knew plenty about it.
As a result, the moment that everything started, he knew what he had to do. There were plenty of Gods whose powers were just too much to be unleashed upon the world, and ones that could destroy everything with only a fraction of their power.
He got lucky, receiving a supporter that allowed him to do that perfectly. Ravana.
An evil king in Hindu myth, enemy of the Gods, but, through devotion to Brahma, was given immunity to all the God's attacks. This was turned into the core skill he inherited.
[God immunity Lv 1]
[User takes reduced damage from the attacks of Gods]
Some of the most powerful supporters were Gods, he would take reduced damage from all their vessel's attacks. As the skill levelled up, it would eventually amount to complete immunity.
With this, Raj took it upon himself to take care of the greatest threats.
He rushed around, tracking down and killing those on his homemade hit list. First, the Greek Nyx, Uranus, Tartarus and Rhea. Next, he went after the Norse Vanir and eventually, hunted down his homeland's Hindu Gods, starting with Vishnu.
On his way, he got several other skills from Ravana, and killed several many other people, even inheriting an army of Rakshasas to fight alongside him.
Through all this, he managed to earn himself the epithet - God slayer.
It wouldn't've been a stretch to call him the strongest of all vessels.
It was after he killed Vishnu that we encountered Raj the God slayer.
He was completely unarmed, but that was fine, he was more than strong enough without a weapon.
He saw our supporters - Yama, Loki - both on his list, he wasn't really bothered about the dullahan, but then he saw Wukong.
He was torn. Had it not been for Wukong, he probably would've torn us all down straight away. Sun Wukong had always been his favorite character, a powerful god opposed to the rest of heaven. But, at the same time, he was an immensely powerful threat that couldn't be ignored.
If left alone, he thought, maybe he could help Raj's cause. It all depended on his intentions and his vessel. And so, he began to question Ulric, "What are your intentions?"
Ulric gave the default answer he'd given everyone so far. "We're on a journey east."
"And what exactly do you plan to do in the east?", Raj kept asking questions.
"I am going to kill that Buddha", it was Wukong that answered, letting him properly understand the situation. He obviously knew which Buddha we were talking about, and why Wukong would want to kill him.
Raj, seeing which way he was leaning, couldn't kill him. At least, not yet.
The Buddhas themselves were very strong, and their powers would be deadly in the wrong hands. But, another problem came into Raj's mind.
Sun Wukong may be strong, incredibly so, but Buddha would be almost unbeatable if not caught soon enough.
"Well, Raj reasoned. "I'll be going to China when I'm done here, if you need any help dealing the finishing blow, just find me."
"We might just take you up on that", I had to be polite, there was a good chance we'd need his help in the future. Although, as I said it, both Ulric and Wukong started glaring at me.
I don't think either of them wanted to admit any possibility of defeat.
With that, we and Raj parted ways, and continued our journey east.
[The next round of inheritance will take place in 48h,0m,0s]
It was only down the road that we ran into some trouble with a wendigo.
The native American beast, known for being incredibly dangerous, and incredibly difficult to kill.
It started as we were crossing a bridge. Doing so, there seemed to be a wall blocking the path ahead. If it were not for level 2 golden fiery eyes, we would've never known it was an illusion, or noticed that there was a person in a nearby tree, waiting for us to stop.
Two of Ulric's clones leapt into the tree, thinking that they'd managed to catch the woman.
Unfortunately, we didn't know what her skills were. She activated one of her skills, allowing her to walk on the air, and then began bounding towards us.
I had forgotten wendigo could do that.
As she came near, I activated hellfire, while Cain activated Pyrokinesis.
Ignoring the flames, the wendigo kept coming at us, full speed. She then activated some other skill, making herself invisible.
Ulric told us roughly where she was, allowing us to keep launching attacks in her direction, although many of them still missed. As she got close, I got a chance to test my newest skill.
Sleep inducement.
She stopped in her tracks, incredibly drowsy. She managed to resist the urge to fall asleep, but it was still enough to get her guard down.
One of Ulric's clones leapt into the air, tackling her to the ground, where Shyama and Sharvana joined in the attack.
Despite their combined assault, the wendigo kept enduring and trying to retaliate. It bit and struggled, injuring the dogs and the clone, but still couldn't get them off.
Vladimir - still in his horse form - trotted over to join in, bucking her and summoning flames. As he did so, her actions changed. She became stronger, more frantic, doing whatever she could to try to push everyone off and get away.
Thanks to this new level of urgency, she managed to knock the clone off and run from the dogs. Using her skywalk skill, she tried to flee. But Vladimir wasn't about to let that happen.
He transformed into an eagle, flying at full speed towards the Wendigo and catching her. Strangely enough, as he did so, he noticed that all her wounds had miraculously healed.
All the tooth and foot marks that had covered her were completely gone.
Vladimir summoned a barrage of fire and ice attacks around her, prompting her to use invisibility to flee.
She ran, but Ulric's clones followed. They couldn't see exactly where she was, but could see more than enough.
Cain joined in. His horse galloped back across the bridge as he shot shells in her direction. Knowing folklore pretty well, he knew the only way to make a would that she couldn't heal was to use silver bullets.
Of course, these aren't particularly easy to come across, and Cain had none of these. Therefore, he had to make do with a silver coin, propelled by fire.
As it made contact, he woman screamed. It hurt more than the other attacks - even the shotgun rounds - and she already knew from her supporter that it'd never heal.
She bled, the trail of visible blood making her easier to track.
Ulric jumped from behind, grabbing her leg to drag her down. As she reached the ground, the Sarameyas resumed their assault.
With her regeneration paused, there was no way she could escape. I even joined with hellfire to restrain her, while the others kept attacking.
It did take a while, but, ultimately, we managed to kill her.
I didn't like that fact that we were killing so many innocent people, but we didn't really have much choice, and they weren't completely innocent.
Having dealt with her, we continued on our blood-stained route to china.
Crossing India was nearly as bad as crossing the channel. Every few footsteps, we'd encounter yet another opponent that we had to waste time dealing with.
We didn't kill them all. When facing smaller threats, we tried to just restrain them until we got past. My sleep skill became especially useful there.
Whenever we killed a child, I made a point of dealing the finishing blow and sending them to my personal heaven.
Frankly, I just had to. I wasn't sure what happened to the people I didn't judge. I'm not even sure I wanted to know.
