A Human Bomb

"it's nice talking to you again, Drakonis," Arin said on the other end, his voice laced with happiness as he spoke. "It has been weeks."

"This is not really the time for pleasantries, I am in the middle of a battle," Uravis said impatiently as he raised his hands to call Vasquez over.

"I know but I can track down the Void Serpent for you," he uttered, getting Uravis' full attention, "There are five Fortresses, one that you might or might not bring down and four other hidden ones,"

Uravis heaved a sigh, his hands dropping from the communicator after initially planning to disconnect, "Alright, Seraphina will take you to our camp spot," That said, he disconnected and raised his head, he turned to Vasquez who gazed at him with a blank expression. "What?"

"Who is that guy?"

"Arin?" Vasquez nodded then his brows rose, "He was my first teammate since I arrived. Why do you ask?"

"Nothing," Vasquez lied and strolled off a relieved smile playing on his lips relieved that the relationship between Arin and Uravis was nothing serious.

As he walked over to Elyria, his smile instantly fell, replaced with a dark gaze and cold expression. "You should get going now, Princess."

"Don't call me that," Elyria said as she raised her gaze to look at him. A frown veey visible on her face, "What is even your deal with me? If I can remember well, I am not the one who banished you."

"I dare you to repeat that," Vasquez said, his eyes going darker than usual, the red in his eyes was totally covered by a black veil that made them look like they had vanished.

"I did not banish you, Father...." before she could finish what she was saying, Vasquez gripped her hair and yanked her closer to him, "Let go of me!"

"I will take away something important to him, just as your coward of a father did to me," he uttered as he wrapped her hair around his fists till he felt the scalp of her head. "And I'll make sure he sees evidence."

Elyria's resistance dropped when he spoke, her eye slowly softened, seeing past the cold veil in his eyes.

"What is that look for?"

"You haven't changed a bit," she admitted with a small smile on her face that he was instantly annoyed with.

"Shut up," he commanded and raised his other free hand to her throat, "Don't resist, so you won't make me break a bone," he added, slowly tightening his fists around her throat.

"I didn't kill mother, so why take vengeance on me?"

"Because you are the reason she died," Vasquez replied, his voice filled with hatred totally different from how he spoke to her earlier.

Trying to ignore her was like dropping the promises he made. "Your coward of a father should have died as well, but I guess the poison didn't work."

He confessed, less concerned about who heard, neither did he care. At least he got to watched the King writhe in pain till Drakonis came along. "To be honest, I wanted to kill him again. But seeing how much effort Ven..sorry, Arcanis put into getting the antidote, I decided not to," he paused and smiled, "I wouldn't want his efforts to go to waste, so I take revenge on you instead."

A sinister grin found its way to his face as he thought of dicing and tearing her body apart while alive, and then hand over her beating heart to her father to do whatever he wanted.

Just thinking about it, activated euphoria in him.

But from the corner of his eyes, he could see Nightshade watching them with amusement in his eyes. He turned to look at him, feeling a little nervous because he was not supposed to hear that

"Please carry on and forget the pressing matters," he smiled innocently and clasped his palms together, "I love seeing siblings fight."

"We are not siblings."

"We are."

Vasquez glared at Elyria who smiled innocently and wriggled out of his grip when he turned to face Nightshade again, then she dropped to the ground with a low thud, beside him.

"Well what ever happened to your family in the past," he paused, chuckling as he made his way closer to them, "Is totally not my business," he dragged out the words to provoke both of them, to be sure if they were actually siblings or not.

When he saw Elyria's eyes darken and Vasquez clench his fist he smirked, "Wonderful," he stood straight and exhaled. "Well, I got another..." he trialed off when his eyes drifted to Elyria's curious gaze then he laughed nervously. 'I keep forgetting she doesn't know.' he told himself, laughing at his mistake.

"Elyria, Take the west side of the city and meet us at the center, understood?" he changed the topic, hoping, deep down within him, that she would not suspect a thing and luckily..she didn't.

Elyria gave a small nod, and hurried off, taking little jumps on the sides of the building and to the roof where she did a flip off and outside the fortress.

"You are going to spill it out soon, so why do you keep hiding it?" Vasquez asked, taking a step closer to him, "She is smarter than you think."

"I know, but she might pound me for lieing" Nightshade said, asking himself why he even cared, and pushed Vasquez head back, "I unlocked a new identity."

"Is that what that holograph was?"

"Yes and it came at a good time," he smiled, pleased, yet also displeased at the same time. "He's an elemental, and a.." he hesitated, trying to find the right words to use to describe the new identity.

"Can you switch to him?"

"Yes but there is a disadvantage," Nightshade opened his eyes, and turned to Vasquez, "He comes like an explosion."

Vasquez eyes slowly widened in surprise, "You mean..."

"Yes," Nightshade cut him off, his tone low and laced with excitement, "It's like a fuse, If I switch to him right now, he appears I'm a flash and with a bomb," he added, a low.

"So, I have to switch at the center of the city and who ever remains, we kill them by hand." he added, taking his time to calculate the size of the city and the range of attack.

Tempest, an EX ranked Elemental, professional in fire manipulation and lightening. The lightening god himself, as Uravis assumed.

And as a human bomb, he could be capable of anything, he might even be stronger than Nightshade.
