A Mission

I am unable to sense his power though he is close to me, as if there is no one standing in front of me talking to me, which makes me to feel more cautious, but I do not want to do it as it will be an action of disrespect towards him.

It also makes me feel like I owe Jack a favor as I have a feeling in my heart that the person standing in-front of me is many times stronger than him and I have more to gain from this person. But the only problem I see in it is, I have no idea who this man is.

As if reading my thoughts, he says "You can call me 'Frostar' kid." To which I just nod as I know this is not his real name and is just a secret identity given to him.

He explained to me what as a 'handler' he is capable of and what kind of missions I will be taking under his command which took almost three hours to complete. The only good thing I heard all this time is that since I am still at a low level, I will not be getting any missions that will morally affect me and I get to choose if I want to go on the mission or not, which is completely contracting attachment in the email I received.

This makes me feel weird about him as no one can easily change the rules, especially a shady organization like the Obsidian Shadow. Still, I keep looking at him, at his marvelous armor that is crafted with such beauty and displayed as a powerful warrior in any battle.

If it was any other person or a kid who has just awakened, they will consider Frostar as a hero to his intimidating look, but for me, he is just a handler with higher power than me. If I focus on my training and gathering resources, I can become as powerful as him will be just a few years away.

After confirming everything I need to know from him, he says "I have a mission that needs to be completed soon with no one helping you." Which makes me a little worried as I am not sure what type of mission it is going to be or if I can complete it sooner as he is asking me to do.

I simply nod at him as I couldn't control my thoughts regarding the mission or gain composure to ask him anything or even speak to him.

"You will have to deal with two E-grade hunters who are causing minor troubles in the wilderness near your town. You can either apprehend and bring them to me or kill them if you wish to." He says to me.

I stare at him waiting for the information he will give me to complete the mission, but what he said not only made me happy but also made me feel excited as I was waiting for this opportunity for a long time as the hunters he is referring to could be the ones who almost killed me a four months back in the Bamboo forest.

I sensed a slight smile in his tone when he said that to me which makes me understand he knows what they have done to me and realized what he is trying to do. This is again a test to see if I am vengeful or will upkeep the law.

I should also be thanking them as if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have achieved the second awakening which has helped me to become powerful enough to handle them in just four months, which would have taken me at least two years if it wasn't for them.

And I never expected I will be able to repay them for what they have done to me so soon, even if Frostar has just told me to take care of them without a mission, I would have done it without a second thought in my mind.

The battle with the Pigmen has already given me the experience I need to take them on and show them that the law is not obsolete in the wilderness as they think, but will deal with them just like any other troublemakers that is dealt inside the town.

I start thinking about the ways I can hunt them and start daydreaming about how I am going to complete the mission to my heart's content, I hear him say "To help you on this mission, I will give you the equipment you need to complete the mission." And opens his palm and a bronze armor and a longsword appear before him.

The longsword is crafted with about one meter blade and forty centimeter length handle fully in bronze color. The blade is sharp at both sides with a sharp tip at the end.

The armor resembles the same as the golden armor he is wearing and I am sure they are high grade armor and longsword which will be accompanying my journey for a long time.

I grab them greedily and check them to see how cool they are only to be brought back to reality by which makes me even more happy. He says "You get to keep them, IF you complete the mission in the way we want you to." Which clearly tells me they want me to apprehend them and not do anything worse which makes me a little sad.

I store them in my holowatch as I don't want to use them immediately and to test myself of how long I can hold my craving to use them immediately.

With these equipment, if I train to use them for a week or two with the help of Shona, I will be able to handle the two E-grade hunters with ease and can kill them like a fly, but unfortunately my mission is to apprehend them and bring them to Frostar for the law to handle them from there.

But, he didn't tell me in which condition they should be when I apprehend them which I can surely take advantage of.
