I watched as a smirk tugged at Stella’s lips as she watched me argue with my husband over her. Blake walked to her side, wrapping his arm around her as she curled her fingers around his arm with a pitiful look.

“Stop yelling, you are scaring Stella. Why can’t you be more understanding and stop being so self-centered? Not everything is about you!”

A familiar deep voice sliced through the air and reached my ears, echoing in the office lobby.

My eyes flashed with a hint of recognition and I knew exactly who that voice belonged to as realisation washed over me. I snapped my head around when my eyes landed on none other than Aaron.

There was a fiery blaze burning in the depths of his eyes as he stared at me like he wanted me dead, like he wanted me buried six feet under ground. His fists were clenched tightly beside him and even his knuckles were starting to turn white from the pressure, his fingernails digging into his palms.
