Cooking lessons.

He gave her a shot after which she rested and they both left to see the other patients that morning. The rest of the day went smoothly, stressful and at the end of the day Vivian decided to go home.

"Hey, still coming home with me?" She asked Stacy as soon as she got connected on the phone.

"So sorry dear, left earlier today and with things at home. I think I'll stay a week or two before coming back" Stacy answered.

The two girls were roommates, they lived in an apartment, with two rooms, a sitting room, kitchen and a laundry room. She had moved back home few weeks because her complained she never visited and that she misses her so much.

"Oh, I thought you would be coming back today" she said sadly.

"So sorry dear, my mum insisted I stayed week before coming back" she apologized at her friend who had been home alone for almost a month now, she was probably lonely.

"No problem. Looks like I'll visit one of this days, the house is so lonely without you" she said as she walked out of the hospital building and headed towards the station to take a bus home.

"You're welcome to come whenever you are lonely. I'm really sorry for not coming back as planned" Stacy apologized once again.

"Alright, we'll talk when I get home" she said and the both girls hung up .

"I can't believe she left me all alone again" she sighed and walked into a store where she did some grocery shopping before she went to the station and got on the bus home.

After like thirty minutes she arrived at her apartment where she keyed in the password at the door before she got in.

"What's with the lights" she frowned as she changed into her home slippers which had a love shaped design on it. She was sure she had put off the lights this morning before she left for work.

As she walked in she started to perceive a nice aroma which came from the kitchen. She smiled, Stacy must be preparing dinner for them. She must have read her mind that she was really hungry and couldn't wait to eat as soon as she got home. She walked towards the kitchen where she leaned on the door with a bright smile on her face as she watched her friend preparing dinner, the aroma said it all and she just couldn't wait to give it a bite.

"Oh come on Stacy. " She said with a laugh.

"Hey peaches you're finally back" Stacy called with a smile as she walked out of the kitchen with tray of cookies.

"What are you doing here?, Don't tell me you...." She was still talking when Stacy walked up to her and hugged her.

"I decided to surprise you by coming home and Wala.. I'm here. I even made dinner" she said as she releases Vivian from the hug.

"You really are something else" Vivian admitted. Stacy was always full of surprises.

"Here try it, I backed cookies too" she said as she raised up the tray for Vivian to have a bit and which she did.

"Hmmm.." she nodded as she savored it.

"You really are the best, it's delicious and..." She said as she took another bit.

"I'm glad you like it and I noticed the kitchen hasn't been touched, I mean it looked.. how should I put it deserted" Stacy said to her friend with a folded arm. She needed answers.

"You're right, I haven't been cooking but I order food everyday so there's no need to worry" she assured her worried friend.

"Well, I can see that, you order good food once in a while and the rest are snacks"

"That's not true, you weren't even here to know that. I eat healthy food daily. Look I even went shopping" she raised the black nylon she carried which Vivian snatched and opened.

"This isn't good food Vivian, I've told you severally that you..

"shouldn'tjoke with your stomach" they both chorused and they both burst into laughter.

This was Stacy's everyday proverb. Which she recites for her friend to listen.

"Alright but you know I can't cook and you know I've tried but it doesn't seem to be working. You know that" she replied with a sad face.

"I've got you peaches, we could have another cooking class.. This time I'll make sure you get it done.

"Are you serious, Stacy. No, I'm not in to hurt my hands" she declined her friend's offer

"Alright peaches but this time around I'll prefer you learn it with an open arm. The last time you weren't even interested and acted like you were forced"

"Stacy why don't we order pizza and watch a movie tonight" she said changing the topic.

"Are you serious right now Vivian, you just.." Stacy was still talking when her friend interrupted her .

"I've got this movie while I was going through my Netflix and I think it's so interesting.. well haven't watched the movie yet but the trailer looked really interesting. We should try it" she said not giving her friend the chance to talk further and continued with her phone.

"Alright" Stacy gave up . She couldn't force her to cook maybe cooking isn't just for her besides she really was interested in watching the movie Vivian had mentioned.

"What's the name of the movie?" She asked her

"Wheel of Time, it's actually series"

"Which makes it more fun" Stacy liked series because it was a longer and more fun especially if it was so interesting.

"Alright, I just ordered the pizza and they would be here soon so I'll just go and shower and join for dinner"

"That's good, I'll go dish the food" Stacy said and turned to leave when Vivian called her back.

"We'll talk about my cooking lessons next time" she said with a smile.

"That, we would do" she answered with a chuckle as she watched her friend walk towards her room.

"Aggrrh!" She let out a deep sigh and lay on the bed

"I'm really exhausted" she said with yawn as her eyes wandered round her room until it caught sight of a picture on the bedside table. It was a picture of her mum and little Vivian in highschool.

She smiled at the picture and pecked her mum's forehead through the frame.

"Hey mum, you must be doing good from your smile" she said with a sad smile.

"I really wished you were here" she continued and then dropped the picture back before she stood up from the bed and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth.
