Chapter 9

I immediately got out of Sir Cace's car as soon as he parked outside a hut. I was sure my classmates were resting inside a large house not far away because we passed by the buses that the camp participants rode in.

It was nearly twelve o'clock by the time we arrived because Sir Cace drove slowly. I wasn't sure if he did it deliberately or if he was tired from holding onto the steering wheel for so long.

I was about to leave when Sir Cace suddenly stopped me. We locked eyes for a moment. It was evident from his expression that he wanted to say something. However, for reasons unknown to me, he didn't continue.

"I'll go ahead." I said softly as I reached for my large bag from Sir Cace.

He nodded briefly in response. I did the same before walking towards the large house.

"Dalha!" Sir called out my name. I hesitated and raised an eyebrow. "Good night."

I stood there for a moment with a blank expression before walking away.
