Chapter 20

I gently pulled away from Sir Cace. But as I managed to free myself from his embrace, it felt like my knees turned to jelly. I didn't expect his quick movements.

I sucked in a breath, unsure of what to do. His words caught me off guard. What did he mean by that?

"I-I'll be going home now, Sir," I stuttered, quickly moving away from Sir Cace. I wanted to go home and lock myself in my room. I felt uncomfortable with Sir Cace's actions, especially as my heart was starting to beat abnormally again.

"I'll walk you home, Dal—."

"I don't want to! I'm okay on my own! I can manage to go home by myself!" I couldn't help but raise my voice at Sir. I just didn't understand why he was acting this way towards me.

"You're not okay! Is it wrong for me to escort you home?" I closed my eyes tightly. I stopped walking and faced Sir Cace.
