Chapter 38

It was already six o'clock in the morning when I arrived home. I found Rita cooking breakfast. Aunt Sabel and Melanie were assisting her. My other cousins were busy cleaning the living room. While my uncle was tending to the garden, weeding and watering the plants.

"Good morning, Mommy Dalha!" Mira greeted me with a smile. She was standing at the dining hall, wiping the utensils.

"What are you doing?!" I asked in surprise before taking the utensils from her.

“Why Mommy Dalha? Am I not allowed to clean?” She asked, furrowing her brows. “Mama said you might get mad and kick us out. I'm diligent, Mommy Dalha! Sometimes I even go with Grandma to do laundry in other houses before."

I suddenly felt compassion for what I heard. She's still a child. "No, Mira, what I mean is that you're still too young to do household chores. So stop doing that because Mommy will look for someone to do these tasks, okay?"
