Learn the Truth Part 2

Nathan took out his phone and called Samuel. Even though Alina had shown him the pictures, some part of him still didn't believe it. Samuel was Kaitlin's husband, and they lived together. If anyone knew where she was, it would be him.

Samuel finally picked up the phone on the second ring.

"Hello, Nathan," Samuel said. Nathan and Samuel had been friends since high school, he was both Kaitlin's and Celia's brother.

"What the hell have you done with my sister?" Nathan's angry voice came over the speaker.

"I haven't done anything to her," Samuel said, letting out a deep breath, "I am trying to figure out where she is."

"You are her fucken husband, Samuel, what do you mean you are trying to figure out where she is at?" Nathan asked. He was still trying to accept the fact that Kaitling was treated badly to the point that she decided to run away from them and make herself untraceable.

"Nathan, I just got home, and I found out that my wife has not been in my house since I left on my business trip," Samuel said, getting frustrated.

"After finding out how she has been treated in your four years of marriage I don't know how she didn't leave you before this," Nathan said angry not only at Samuel for the way he treated Kaitlin but also at himself for not being a better brother and not realizing that Kaitlin was getting hurt.

"You are no better Nathan or eighter Kaitlin would be with you and not hiding from both of us," Samuel said.

"Believe me, I know, but once I find Kaitlin, I will bring her back home, and I will make sure that you and your family can't come near her," Nathan said. "I have to go, I have a lost sister to find." Nathan

"We will see about that," Samuel said.

Nathan hung up. Nathan was sitting in his office going over everything that had been going on when his cell phone chimed a notification. Celia's name popped up on the notifications. Nathan didn't want to believe that Celia could be so malicious toward her own sister. Nathan picked up the phone. "Hello."

"Hey, big brother, how are you?" Celia asked in a sweet voice.

Nathan made a face at hearing the sweetness coming out of the phone, "I am doing fine, what about yourself?" Nathan asked.

"I was calling you to see if you can arrange my going back home," Celia asked as she cleared her throat and continued to speak, "I am in love and I need to put my best into this to make it work like you have always said and I think now is the perfect opportunity to do just that."

"Really, why do you say that?" Nathan asked, wondering why of all the times Celia wanted to come back now.

"The person I am interested in has just become a free person again. Before he was forced to marry someone he didn't love, and finally the horrible woman decided to give him a divorce," Celia said. you can hear the joy in her voice.

"Celia, no matter what other people are going through, you should never interfere in a marriage or wish someone unhappiness. Mom and dad thought you better than that," Nathan said, restraining himself from blowing up at Celia at the moment. With this, his confirmation that Celia did not like Kaitlin became a little clearer. "I will arrange the flight back, but going forward, we will not be able to help maintain you. You are going to have to look for a job to provide for yourself; the company is going through some hard times at the moment."

There was silence on the phone line for a couple of minutes, and then Celia's voice came out once again, "Okay, is there anything I can do to help?" Celia asked.

"No, I will handle it, but like I said, there will be restrictions on what you can spend until we can get in a better spot financially," Nathan said.

"That's fine. I'll see you in a couple of days," Celia said, handing up without waiting for a response.

Nathan pressed the intercom on his desk. "Rafel, come to my office, " he said as he leaned back in his chair to wait for him.

Rafel stepped into the office five minutes later with a tablet in his hand. Rafel handed the tablet over to Nathan, "This is the information I have been able to collect so far," Rafel said, "Just as the papers that Miss Alina gave you, Miss Celina has been harassing Miss Kaitlin for the past four years that she has been married to Mr. St. James."

Nathan went through the files on the tablet, verifying Celina's phone and the messages sent to Kaitlin from her phone. "Have you found out how my sister was treated in Samuel's home?" Nathan asked, placing the tablet down on the desk.

Rafel took the tablet and opened up another file. He handed the tablet back to Nathan so he could go through the pictures he collected. "Yes, verification was given on the statements that Miss Kaitlin was being mistreated by the family. Mr. St. James has been indifferent to Mis Kaitlin ever since the marriage took place, but the biggest offender has been Mr. St. James's sister; she has been bulling Miss Kaitlin every time Mr. St. James has been on business trips and had physically hurt Miss Kaitlin."

"Have you been able to find her?" Nathan asked as he put the table down once again.

"No, sir. We are still searching, but we have not been able to find her name on any of the flight manifestos or any other means of transportation," Rafel said, looking at Nathan.

"Keep searching," Nathan said, "you may go." Rafel left the office, closing the door behind him. Nathan picked his phone up once again and called the one person who more than likely helped his sister.

The call connected. "It took you less time to finally find out the truth," Alina said as a form of greeting. "I thought I was not going to hear from you until a couple of days."

"I know that you will not tell me where she is," Nathan said, knowing perfectly well what kind of person Alina was and how dedicated she was to those she considered family.

"You got that right none of you assholes decerve to know where she is. The only way I would let you know is if she wanted me to tell you," Alina said.

"Can you just tell me if she is okay? Does she need anything?" Nathan asked. He had been a horrible brother until now, but he was going to make sure to make it up to Kaitlin.

"No, she is okay," Alina said. "I am not saying it will work, but try emailing her. When she is ready, she might reply."

"Thank you, Alina, for being such a good friend to Kait," Nathan said, sincerity pouring from his voice.

"You do not need to thank me for that," Alina said. "Kait and I have a friendship that has been growing since we were five years old, and no matter what some people tried to do to separate us, that will never happen. I have her back, and she had mine." Alina hung up.

Nathan shook his head, a small smile forming on his lips. he recognized that Alina might be known as a crazy woman, but she was fearless and protective of the people she loved. She was a good person to have in your corner. He was grateful that Kaitlin had found such a good friend.
