Only Escape Option[2]

"Ughhh, this sucks"

A hand reached out from inside a dumpster.

A young man pulled himself up from inside the dumpster.

"Ahhwww... I'm wet now..."

A wave of disgust washed over Atlas once more.

He looked up, admiring the faint screams he could hear from the top and vague red hues swirling out once in a while.

He lowered his gaze to the windows that lined the walls just above him.

"Glad that worked..."

Atlas had used the windows as footholds and climbed down floor by floor, untill he reached the 2nd floor.

In a normal day he would've jumped down directly, but he didn't want to damage his supplies or hurt himself, so he decided to do the only other thing he could; jump into the dumpster.

"My first day of the apocalypse definitely is eventful... and not in a good way"

He moved the satchel bag to a more comfortable position and started walking.

"Glad I found this"

He touched the bag softly.

"Forgot I had this..."

It was a dark green satchel with sewed patches and some damaged parts here and there.

He shook his head and proceeded to think back to the previous set of events.

"The landlord turned into a... zombie..."

"The dead wish to welcome you or something like that was written..."

He looked at the rising moon.

"I'ma go on a wild guess, but I think I'm gonna be dealing with more than just goblin"

He talked to himself; he always did in stressful situations.

He looked around and paced himself, walking towards the streets to check it out.

As he got to the streets, he saw that it was strangely desolate.

Not the fire everywhere, blood and bodies scene. Just some mild destruction of public property.

But before he could do anything he heard a goblin. But it wasnt a normal tone.

It sounded... scared?

Atlas looked in the direction of the sound before muttering to himself.

"My curiosity is gonna be the death of me one day"

Who else wouldn't want to know what a goblin is being scared by?

Atlas ran with quick and steady steps, reaching a house with a broken door.

"Khe-kheak!!"

The sounded was definitely coming from here.

"Now let's see what's inside"

Atlas slowly opened the door, and greeting his eyes was a hollow, short, white figure, infant of whom were two trembling goblins.

The figure was composed to bonelike material that mimicked the skeletal shape of a goblin.

'That's a fucking goblin skeleton!'

It turned its head almost 180° to look back at Atlas.

"Ahh, fuck!"

Atlas frantically looked around, seeing a umbrella stand next to him.

He rushed to grab the stand, quickly using his inertia to his advantage and smashing the skeleton with a full powered strike to its side.

It neither screamed nor made any sound, instead collapsing to the ground instantly.

Atlas sighed in relief at its weakness.

"Damn that was easy"

Untill it's hands moved for its detached head.

"The fuck!?"

He really should've expected something from a skeleton.

The goblins, sensing an opportunity, rushed past the both of them and closed the door.

"Shit!"

Atlas turned around to open the door but it was jammed.

He turned the knob over and over again untill he heard a sound come from behind.

The skeleton was standing.

"Fuck this shit... those goblins can die in ditch for all I care!"

Atlas threw the umbrella stand at the skeleton, but this time it looked more ready and braced itself and didn't break down.

Just as he was about to curse once more, as he usually does, the skeleton rushed at him with its jaw open.

Atlas weaved to his left and turned his body to side step it.

He moved his left hand, shoving the skeletons head into the door.

A cracking resounded from both the skull and the door.

Atlas didn't wait any longer and used both hands to pop the head off of the spine.

"Let's hope this kills it!"

He smashed the skull into the concrete floor, cuasing it to explode where it made contact with the skull.

"DAMN fucking goblins!"

Atlas was seriously fumming with anger, but he only had himself to blame.

"Whatever, my fault for being curious anyways..."

He stopped to look at the motionless skeleton, kicking it a bit to make sure it was really down for good.

[Obtained 10 points for killing a Goblin Skeleton(Weakened)]

Atlas directed his attention to the screen.

"10 points... so is there a shop of some kind? Or is it for a leader boards? Or am I thinking too much in game terms?"

He looked down at the broken skull.

"Weakened... So thats why this skull was so fragile. Makes sense, it was easier to destroy than the past ones"

He looked out the door one last time with a slightly annoyed expression before turning away and finding another way out.

...

After having walked some distance, avoiding as much trouble as possible, Atlas reached a large building that was built like a dome.

"The emergency plan of the city was to hold up here so let's see how many people are inside."

He knew he would find atleast somebody here, and he hoped to find a friend.

He walked over to the door, knocking on the door.

"Open up, human Here!"

A chilling silence permeated through the air.

'No way, no one's here? I expected atleast one person here if I went with the odds'

He waited longer, hoping to hear a delayed answer maybe.

After waiting for a solid 5 minutes he gave up and left, turning away.

Or so it seemed.

"Boss, he's gone"

A man inside said to the person behind him.

"Good... I hope he gets killed by the goblins"

The man looked slightly confused at his words.

"But boss, if he comes wouldn't it be better for us? He is highly skilled, remember?"

The young lad in a tuxedo snapped at his henchmen's words.

"BETTER!? Better you say? Hah! Inviting him in would be like Achilles shouting to everyone to shoot at his heel!"

He slid his jelled-u hair to the side and continued.

"He is from The Apartment, and you know that most of them are the enemies of us, the true masters of this nation"

He turned away and continued talking.

"I'll be busy, so remember to follow the plan. We already have a decent number of people to make use of and members of the organization to control them"

And stopped for a second, turning his head to look at the man, his blue eyes glowing ominously.

"And never forget that HE of all people shall never be allowed inside"

A chill went up the man's spine. He knew very clearly that behind that young face and lean physique hid a vicious monster.

His master alone could kill him in mere seconds if he so desired so with only pure martial abilities.

"Ye-yes sir!"

His master continued walking, replying with a cool tone.

"Good"

The man slowly left too, making sure it was after his master was nowhere close by.

"So 'they' have taken over this place huh?".

Atlas pulled himself back from the door.

He had heard everything, and he did not feel pleasant any of it.

"I can't do anything for now, so let's find the others. If they are still alive that is"
