Abomination[1]

whoosh*

Atlas fell through the 'hole', free falling down at full speeds.

"Fuck...! I... too much wind..."

His mind was on high alert, his instincts blaring warnings at him.

His intuition directed his movements, and with barely conscious actions, he spread his body.

He peaked to one side, causing him to move towards the left.

Fwooosh*

A strange feeling washed over him and he slammed into the ground, though somehow not getting hurt.

"Wha-what...?"

He slowly got up and looked around.

He checked his body, finding himself completely unharmed, except for his heart beating at a thousand beats per second.

He looked around, his hand feeling the hard, cleanly cut slabs.

Atlas was in a room made of clean cut slabs, with a giant chest in the middle.

"Where am I?"

He was mind-boggled; complete confusion had overtaken him.

[You have entered a safe room]

[No damage will be taken from any sources]

Extra text appeared next to it, but after reading it, Atlas glanced over it without much attention

Atlas got up. He quickly calmed down and composed himself.

"So, that's why I didn't take any damage from the fall"

He noticed a door to his right.

He walked up to it and a notification appeared.

[Warning! Boss Room]

"..."

Atlas was supposed to drop into the boss room, but he somehow dived to the safe room.

Atlas touched his gut, the realization causing him to pale slightly.

"I hope that fucker got killed by that bullet"

Rage towards Justin started swelling up inside Atlas but he chose to focus on his current situation for now.

He walked over to the chest and touched it.

A red light covered it immediately.

[Reward can only be received after clearing Boss Room]

He grimaced at the notification.

'How do I even get out of here'

As if to respond to his question he felt a sting from his eyes.

It was a faint feeling, like when something proves you for a moment.

But reopening his eyes he noticed a yellow glow on the floor past the ground.

He walked over to it and it too glowed red.

[Return Circle can only be activated after clearing Boss Room]

'That's how I get out'

He calmly started thinking of his situation, slowly deciding on what to do.

"First I'll have to clear the Boss Room, most likely it'll be a monster. After that I'll get the reward and leave this place. Then I'll need to find Justin and fuck him up, easy"

He turned to to door and walked up to it.

"I'm re-enter the safe room after scouting out what's in there, make a plan to beat it, if I can't I'll gather information and revise my plan. Rinse and repeat untill I win"

He slowly opened the door and left the room.

It was pitch dark, but slowly torches light up from the other end of the room, eventually reaching the door to the safe room.

A giant monster was in the middle of the dome shaped room. The walls and ground was crudely formed, deformations present everywhere unlike the safe room.

There were boulders, gravel, dirt, some mushrooms here and there and wooden frames to support the cave.

"This place..."

The monster screamed, a shock wave spread through out the whole dome, shaking the walls and causing rocks to fall.

A giant rock was falling where Atlas was.

'Shit'

He dived forward to dodge the rock; the rough terrain hurting him as he rolled.

The monster looked towards the entrance where one would normally enter from.

Atlas quickly hid behind a Boulder nearby.

'God Dammit! Well atleast the giant rock there will provide me some cover while I leave'

Atlas got up and started sneaking towards the rock.

"Raaaaargghhh!"

The monster screamed again, and as the sound record throughout the place, it turned its head towards Atlas' location.

It's heavy footsteps shook the ground as it made its way to Atlas.

'Fuck! Does it have echolocation or some shit!?'

He grabbed the handle of the door and turned it.

[Cannot enter Safe Room]

'Ah shit... should've expected this'

The monster casted a shadow Atlas noticed, and with indications from its footsteps and breathing, Atlas guessed what it was about to do.

The shadow raised its arms as Atlas dived towards the ground again, rolling and looking back.

With a loud sound the rock was cracked where the monster hit.

It looked around in a frenzy as Atlas unfortuantely got a proper look at it.

It had a messed up, disproportional body.

Some parts were the size of a regular human, others bloated up to almost five times their normal size.

It was dark green in colour and it moved with heavy, irregular steps.

It was as ugly as could be, with warts and random boils all over it.

It's eyes were tiny in comparison to its face, it's swelled up skin blocking most of its view.

It had strange designs all over its body that looked extremely eery.

Ripped clothing that looked unrecognizable and the final detail he noticed, a broken piece of slightly curved metal protruding from its back.

Following his instincts Atlas crouched down, making sure not to make any sounds.

The monster screamed and started blindly searching for Atlas.

'Phew... Damn my instincts are something else'

It had helped him many times before, this time only an addition not an exception to the norm.

The adrenaline was slowly calming down and his tunnel vision widened.

He noticed notification on his side.

[Congratulations on obtaining 1000 points for discovering the dungeon 'Malice of the Buried']

[Dungeon Quest has been issued]

[Dungeon Quest- Abomination of Malice]

-In the tunnels underneath the city lies a hundred vengeful spirits. Though some may have been eroded by the winds of time and reality, some haven't. They persist and continue existing in the material realm untill they are either vanquished or have their wishes fulfilled.

The spirits reside in the tunnels, ready to kill anyone that enters. And in the end of the tunnel, in an undeveloped space, lies an abomination that even the spirits fear.]

The dungeon mission's description soon changed as a few extra paragraphs were added to the end.

[Quest Properties]:

Due to alterations from the SOG,

1)Any creature that dies in the Boss Room will have their spirits consumed by the abomination. Healing and permanently strengthening it.

2)Any spirit that enters the Boss Room will also be consumed by the abomination.

3)If the abomination consumes enough souls, it will develop new abilities and eventually break out of the dungeon.

Atlas' face darkened as he now understood what Justin planned to do.

'I have to get out of here and save the others before it's too late!'
