"She insists that she did not push Juliet Scott. She claims Juliet lost her balance and fell on her own."

Stephanie sighed, gripping the bridge of her nose. "And what's next?"

"The investigation is ongoing. Given the severity of the case—assault on a pregnant woman—things don't look good for Miss Swift, especially with Mr. Owen Scott's statement confirming she pushed his wife."

Stephanie thanked the officer and ended the call.

Her stomach churned with anxiety. The scandal was already all over the news, and Owen had every reason to make sure Olivia didn't walk free.

Stephanie thought for a moment and decided that she had to call Owen's father. At least, he would be easier to talk to than his wife in this kind of situation.

Taking a deep breath, she dialled Richard's number.

He picked up on the second ring, his voice cold and sharp. "Stephanie."
