The area of Notting Academy wasn't particularly large.

After entering the main gate, Lin Ye followed the Master down a tree-lined path, and soon, a tall academic building appeared before him.

"Follow me."

Seeing the building, the Master turned to say a quick word before leading them towards an office on the first floor of the building. This was the registration office for new students.

When they arrived at the office, the Master pushed open the door.

Creak!

The door creaked as it opened, revealing a clean and well-organized space. A potted plant sat by the entrance, while several desks were arranged toward the back. Behind one of them sat two young men and an older man who seemed to be in charge.

"Master, what brings you here? This is a rare sight! Please, take a seat!" The older man immediately stood up in surprise upon seeing the Master, warmly gesturing for him to sit.

"No need, Director Su. I'm here to help these two children enroll."

The Master calmly declined the offer, pointing to Lin Ye and Tang San beside him.

Hearing this, Director Su noticed the two boys and was surprised. The usually solitary Master had actually brought two children to enroll—something truly unheard of!

Though surprised, Director Su maintained his welcoming demeanor and laughed. "Rest assured, Master! I'll handle the registration for these two children."

"Thank you, Director Su. These two are working students—one from Saint Soul Village, the other from Rice Fragrance Village. Here are their martial spirit certifications. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave."

The Master nodded, stepped forward, and handed over the two certificates before turning to leave.

As he passed by Tang San, the Master paused and said, "Xiao San, follow the teachers' instructions here for registration. I'll come find you later once I'm finished."

"Yes, Teacher!" Tang San responded respectfully.

Hearing Tang San address him as "Teacher," a faint, stiff smile appeared on the Master's face. After gently patting Tang San's head, he left the office.

Once the Master was out of sight, Tang San turned back around, only to hear Director Su's puzzled voice nearby.

"Child, your name is Tang San, right? You just called him 'Teacher,' but the Master isn't a teacher at our academy."

"I know." Tang San nodded.

"If you know that, why call him Teacher? That title isn't something to be used lightly."

Director Su frowned, still concerned.

"Tang San has already taken the Master as his teacher," Lin Ye spoke up calmly from the side.

"You took the Master as your teacher?"

Hearing Lin Ye's words, Director Su was stunned. The two younger teachers behind the desk exchanged shocked glances.

Then, unable to contain themselves, the two young teachers burst into laughter.

"Hahaha! Are you serious? Someone actually wants the Master as their teacher?!"

"This is hilarious!"

Their laughter echoed in the room as though they had just heard the funniest joke.

Lin Ye frowned.

Was there something wrong with the Master?

Just as Lin Ye was pondering this, Director Su suddenly snapped, "What are you laughing at? The Master is a friend of the academy's dean. In the spirit master world, he is a well-known figure. How dare you laugh at him?"

"Director Su, you're exaggerating, aren't you? The Master might be known, sure, but calling him a well-known figure is a stretch. If anything, he's infamous! He's nearly 30 and still stuck at level 29, a grandmaster in name only. His martial spirit isn't much better than a waste spirit, and his fighting ability is pathetic. And don't get me started on his 'Ten Core Competencies of Martial Spirits.' It's a joke in the spirit master world!"

One of the young teachers chimed in, sounding both dismissive and mocking.

"Exactly!" The other teacher nodded in agreement.

"Enough! There are students present. Show some respect for the Master. Or do you want the dean to hear about this? Don't blame me if that happens," Director Su said sharply, his gaze briefly flicking to Lin Ye, who remained expressionless, and Tang San, who was visibly angry.

Realizing they had crossed a line, the two young teachers gave embarrassed smiles and fell silent.

"Register them now!" Director Su ordered, handing over the martial spirit certificates.

"Level 29... isn't that the third rank for spirit masters? For a Master, that does seem a bit low," Lin Ye thought, furrowing his brows as he listened to the conversation.

While he agreed that the Master's rank seemed underwhelming, Lin Ye still had a relatively positive impression of him.

After all, the Master had given him a notebook full of research earlier at the gate. Even though Lin Ye wasn't sure how useful it would be, it was still a gesture of goodwill. Plus, the Master had offered to help him hunt for spirit rings.

However, if the Master truly was only a Grandmaster at level 29, with a spirit barely better than a waste spirit, it might be difficult for him to help Lin Ye hunt for spirit rings.

Still, with his connections to the dean of Notting Academy, the Master could at least help Lin Ye find a suitable place for hunting spirit beasts.

Although the mocking words of the young teachers bothered Lin Ye, it wasn't because he had any deep relationship with the Master. In fact, Tang San was the one who had become his disciple.

Lin Ye owed the Master a favor. Listening to others mock him made Lin Ye want to repay that debt. But since it wasn't his place to intervene—especially since Tang San, the disciple, hadn't spoken up—Lin Ye restrained himself.

"Two children with innate full spirit power?!"

Suddenly, a voice of shock came from within the office. The two young teachers registering Lin Ye and Tang San had astonished expressions on their faces as they stared at the registration forms.

"Innate full spirit power?"

Director Su was equally taken aback, peering over at the forms in the young teachers' hands.

"...It's a shame, though. Even with full spirit power, both of their spirits are still waste spirits. Now I understand why the Master would take them as disciples," one of the young teachers sighed, shaking his head with a strange look on his face.

"I haven't taken the Master as my teacher," Lin Ye said after a moment of silence.

"..."

"Oh, well, maybe I remembered wrong..." The teacher gave an awkward laugh, having been corrected.

"But with your circumstances, both of you possessing full spirit power and waste spirits, perhaps the Master is the right fit for you. He does have a strong reputation in martial spirit research. If you follow his theories, you might just carve out a path to becoming powerful."

The teacher's expression became slightly odd as he spoke.

"Hey! Don't mislead the children. Even though their martial spirits might be weak, innate full spirit power is a legendary talent! With a skilled teacher, one who can help them hunt spirit beasts and absorb spirit rings, they could very well surpass us one day!" the other teacher interrupted, frowning.

"True!"

However, listening to their conversation, Lin Ye remained quiet.

While Tang San's Blue Silver Grass might truly be a weak spirit, his own Nine Spirit Begonia certainly wasn't. He had already tested it himself—this was no ordinary support spirit, but an incredibly powerful one.
