Selene’s POV
The moonlight spilled through the curtains, soft and silver, casting Lucian in a warm glow as he hovered above me. My breath caught in my throat as his fingers traced a gentle line along my cheek. His touch sent a shiver down my spine. It was not from fear, but something deeper—something I had never felt this strongly before.
My heart raced as my hand rested on his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath my palm. It grounded me and tethered me to the moment. His eyes, usually sharp and commanding, were soft and filled with an emotion I had only ever dreamed of seeing in him. It was as if, in that one night, the walls between us had finally crumbled, leaving nothing but us—bare, vulnerable, and completely in each other’s hands.
