If they had been riding in a traditional Westeros wagon with wooden wheels, without the comfort of padded seats made from thick, soft fur, they would have been jolted around and possibly thrown up by the rough ride.
"How's it going? This carriage has the best shock absorbers, so even on bumpy roads, you won't feel too much of the bumps!" Jason Liu said proudly, a smile on his face.
McCann, Bud, and Marbu, who didn't know much about advanced technology, could only shout loudly in agreement, thinking it was a great ride. Jon, however, being from Winterfell, was more knowledgeable and impressed by the technology.
Jon looked over with a look of admiration on his face. "I can't even imagine the level of technology in your homeland. I'd say the best carriage-making skills in all of Westeros are far behind this."
Jon then turned to Lord Jason with a longing expression and said, "My Lord, your country must be a very powerful place. From all the amazing goods you've brought to Westeros, the sharp steel swords, the light, strong stab-proof suits, and this large, easy-to-use carriage—all these things show just how powerful your Empire must be!"
After thinking for a moment about modern tech, Jason Liu replied confidently, "Of course, my country is the strongest in the world—there's no doubt about it! But although we're strong, we love peace and won't invade other lands. I'm here to bring trade, not war, to Westeros!"
Jon and the others nodded in agreement. If such a powerful empire ever decided to invade Westeros, which was divided into the Seven Kingdoms, it would be a very easy victory. It reminded them of Aegon Targaryen the Conqueror, who came to Westeros with dragons.
Fortunately, Lord Jason had come alone, without bringing any other people from his empire. This showed that Jason had no bad intentions toward Westeros.
If Jason had brought an army, they wouldn't have dared to think about what would happen if such a powerful empire attacked Westeros, especially with Westeros' backward weapons.
For a while, everyone around was in awe of the Tsena Empire, which they had never really heard of before. They also felt proud to be vassal knights of such a powerful empire.
After gaining another wave of loyalty and admiration from his followers, Jason Liu and the others finally got off the carriage.
"You did a great job driving the carriage just now, so you can be my groom in the future!" Jason Liu praised Barlow. Since Barlow didn't have any skill in fighting or reading, Jason thought he could be his full-time groom and take care of the carriage for him.
Upon hearing that Lord Jason had chosen him as his groom, Barlow immediately bowed excitedly, "Thank you for your trust, my Lord! I will definitely drive the carriage for you!"
Barlow was excited because being a noble's groom was a position of high status. Just like modern-day drivers for influential people, the role was respected and important. Barlow considered himself very lucky to be appointed as Jason's groom, as it showed how much trust Jason had in him. He promised to do his best and never disappoint Jason.
Looking at Barlow with admiration, Barron unhooked the two worn-out horses from the carriage and brought them back to the stables.
Jason Liu suddenly realized that he needed to buy a batch of good horses!
In addition to pulling the carriage, he also needed soldiers to train as cavalry. In Westeros, where travel was slow due to poor roads, riding horses would speed things up considerably.
With this in mind, Jason Liu asked Jon and the others, "Where can I buy a large number of good horses in the winter market town?"
Jon responded without hesitation, "My Lord, every family in the North has their own horse farms. If you want to buy a large number of horses, you should visit a horse farm."
Jason Liu was a little surprised to learn that the northern nobles owned their own horse farms. But after thinking about it, he realized it made sense. The North was vast and sparsely populated, so traveling without horses would be too slow. Horses were essential, not just for pulling carts but also as important military resources.
Although the climate in the North was colder, and there was only one harvest of grain per year, the region had plenty of grasslands, which made it perfect for raising horses.
The cavalry in the North had gained fame because of the large number of horses bred there.
Thinking about this, Jason Liu asked, "Does Winterfell have a horse farm?"
Jon nodded and answered, "Yes, in addition to the one closest to Winterfell, there are several other large horse farms around."
"Then contact Winterfell and buy horses from them! I think, let's start by buying 50 horses. We'll train your soldiers to ride them and turn them into cavalry
