Chapter 92

A few days later, Anton found a clue and immediately informed Sophie about it.

"Antonio is trying to hide Luka for some reason. Every time we find something, he sneaks out. This isn't normal" He said on the phone, pacing back and forth behind the twins.

They scratched their heads again and again, not knowing what to do. It looked like they would have to ask Zick for help after all.

"Don won't be happy," Anton muttered to himself before he started explaining to Sophie again.

"We will have to go there right away and from there we will have to rely on Zick. Otherwise there is no way to find him" He explained.

It was strange that someone like Antonio tried so hard to hide Luka.

Did something happen when he left and left everything in Bethany's hands?

If someone threatened him, Sophie was convinced that the man would try to save himself at all costs and he would leave his son.

Unable to wait any longer and wonder what to do, Sophie made a quick decision.

She went to Darell's office to tell him the not-so-good news. After all, if they don't know for sure where Luka is, the search may take longer than expected.

As she walked past Noah's desk, Sophie nodded at him with a smile.

Anton said he would go with her, which meant Noah would be alone again.

Anton recently returned from his father's place, spending almost a month there and now he had to leave again for an indefinite period of time.

Entering Darell's office, Sophie found him deep in work. As always.

When Darell looked at her, his eyes immediately smiled at her and his face visibly softened.

Sophie felt her heart tighten, knowing she would have to leave him.

"Darell" She walked up to him and sat on his lap, hugging his neck and cuddling up to him.

The man realized that it was time to part. He wrapped his arms around her and cuddled her tenderly.

Without saying anything, they sat like that for a long time, trying to enjoy every possible moment.

However, Sophie had to hurry before the next clue disappeared and they had to wait for the next one to appear.

"Take care of yourself, don't leave your brother's side and call me. Call me whenever you can. I'll miss you, honey," Darell said in his pleasantly low voice, looking straight into his favorite emerald eyes.

"I'll be careful. Take care of yourself and try to rest whenever you can. I know it will be hard, but after everything, we will finally be able to enjoy ourselves," Sophie said, confident that this was what would happen.

Caressing his cheek, she moved closer to his lips.

Without hesitation, Darell hungrily devoured her deliciously voluptuous lips and his naughty hands began to slip under her clothes.

They moved smoothly over her body, making her shiver. Moaning softly into his mouth, Sophie tried to stop what they were getting at.

The door was open and someone could come in at any time.

This was not the time to play around. Grabbing his hands, Sophie broke the kiss and looked into Darell's eyes with slight hesitation.

She really wanted to find her brother, but she didn't want to leave her beloved for too long.

"Go. There's no need to think about it. I'm strong, I can do it," Darell, as if reading her thoughts, comforted her with his words.

They hugged one last time and Sophie quickly went to pack a few things.

Half an hour later, Anton was already waiting in the car at the entrance to the company.

Sophie, carrying a small suitcase, walked to the car, threw her luggage into the back seat and sat down in the passenger seat next to Anton.

"We still have to go to Don's. He won't take my call after harassing him for a bit," Anton scratched the back of his head, feeling stupid now.

When he annoyed his friend, it seemed funny to him, but when he needed his help, the man was not going to let him go.

So they headed towards Don's estate, hoping that he would agree for Sophie's sake.

Besides, Zick and his sister were good friends. Even if Don objects, Zick will want to help.

A stupid smirk appeared on his face as he came to this conclusion.

"It's better if you stay silent. I can already see that you've come up with something stupid," Sophie, seeing his expression, immediately scolded him, frowning.

He was the same age as her and the jokes were still stuck in his head.

Part of Sophie was glad that Anton wasn't a cold bastard only willing to kill, but he was a bit over the top with his bullying of his friend.

Especially since he chose Don. A serious and composed man who, at the moment, didn't want anything to do with a joker.

As they approached the main gate, a small surprise awaited them.

"Miss Sophie can come in. Unfortunately, Mr. Anton has to stay. The boss forbade him to come in."

Sophie looked angrily at her brother, who was staring at the ground with wide eyes and pursed lips.

"Is that so?" Sophie shook her head in dissatisfaction.

She got out of the car and without looking at her brother again, went to the mansion.

One of the men led her to the main room where she saw Don standing over Zick.

As always, absorbed in her work, she quickly clicked on the keyboard, not paying attention to her surroundings.

Don gently massaged her neck with one hand, pretending that this was completely normal behavior.

"Don"

"Sophie"

The short greeting brought Zick out of her work.

"Sophie!" The woman rushed into her arms, having not seen her for a long time.

Sophie greeted her cheerful friend with a smile.

"I have a big request to ask you." Without further ado, Sophie told them everything she had learned about her brother so far.

Zick nodded eagerly, ready to help. Don, sensing that something was wrong, also agreed.

He didn't want anything to happen to Zick's friend. Otherwise he could listen to her complaints and despairs, and they could use this time for something more appropriate...

So, fully supported by them, Sophie returned to the car and she and Anton set off on a long journey.
