Chapter 80

The snow crunched and crackled loudly under their feet as they walked.

Arya cringed as she imagined that those noises would attract unwanted attention but it seemed all in vain as it was deadly silent except for the sound of the trio walking and their breathing.

The snow was still falling down in gentle waves of that soft and flaky powder.

Arya felt glad that she dressed a little bit more warmly in longer sleeves and thick woolen clothing as the temperature seemed to have dropped by another 5 degrees overnight.

Lucifer and Lucinda were leading the way.

Something to do with them being able to detect and know the location of those with royal blood.

A sort of strong bond between parent and child.

Arya wondered how it must feel to these two siblings to have to face their own father, to fight against him.

A glint of something shiny caught the corner of her eye.

Her reflexes automatically reacted before her mind could.

She caught a throwing dagger with her bare hand, the blade cutting into the palm of her hand and causing blood to soak into the sleeve of her shirt.

Arya felt something else flying towards her head. She ducked and that thing went whizzing past her head and into the snow.

"LUCIFER, LUCINDA, LOOK-"

They were gone.

No, wait a minute, it wasn't as if they could have gotten far in those few seconds she was preoccupied.

And was it just her or was the wind starting to pick up and get more harsher and louder now and the snow was falling at a faster pace? No wait, did she lose her vision or something because all she could see was white.

It was like being in the middle of a blizzard. Arya gripped her hood in order for it to not be blown off. Her locks of brown hair were starting to get blown into her face, making it even harder to see anything.

She felt deaf as all she could hear was the howling of the wind in her ears. She wouldn't be able to see or hear someone sneaking up on her at this rate.

And that's exactly what happened.

Something big and heavy pounced on her, tackling her onto the ground.

Arya starred up into the eyes of a large wolf the size of a full grown adult elephant.

The smell of death and flesh hit Arya and she resisted the urge to get sick. Some of its long sword-like teeth were stained in blood. Fresh blood.

Arya got over her shock in about 3 seconds before she yanked that oversized mutt off of her with her telekinesis just when it opened up its mouth to take a bite of her shoulder.

It howled and screamed, twisting its body in an attempt to get back down but Arya was suspending it at least 10 feet in the air even though that thing looked like it weighed a few hundred pounds. All four feet comedically clawing and slashing the air as it stayed floating on its back.

Arya proceeded to body slam that thing into the ground with enough force to cause a small earthquake. The wolf broke its back from the sheer force of the slam and Arya took advantage of that to unsheathe one of her swords.

As the monster wolf was trying to recuperate from the heavy blow on its head-which felt like having a thousand pounds of bricks falling onto your head-Arya leaped up into the air and landed on the wolf, her sword pointed down at it as she came at it like a bolt of lightning, and she stabbed that thing straight through the heart, the blade of the entire sword was inside the heart of the wolf, the full force of gravity helping her to precise through its heart.

The wolf screamed and let out a death cry but it died.

Arya quickly leaped off and took off running. She wasn't going to wait around as that thing resurrected and she decided it was best to get going while she wasn't faced with anyone she had to fight. She wondered why she only had to face one opponent-a lone wolf-but she wasn't going to question it.

She ran, not sure where she was going but eager to put some distance between herself and that wolf before it came back from the dead, when suddenly, the ground exploded under her.

Arya was sent flying through the air, she felt painful burns starting to form on her body as bits of her clothes burned off.

The icy snow felt like bliss to her burnt skin when she landed in a small pile of snow.

She whimpered as her healing abilities took effect: fixing up the burnt skin on her face, arms and other parts of her body.

She was lucky. If she had been just a few centimeters closer, she would have been blown to pieces.

Arya saw that the cut on her palm disappeared now but that she was still clinging onto the knife in her left hand.

Well, a weapon is a weapon.

The knife, she realized, was a good one with a long but well balanced blade that was very sharp. The edge close to the handle was serrated like shark teeth.

Arya looked at the small burn on her right forearm and disappeared and left behind only healthy skin.

So, she had to be very careful this time. Because she might not be as lucky.

But the booby trap meant that she was getting closer.

She was on the right path.

Arya got up. She winced as her dip into the snow pile left her feeling even colder now and the freaking wind and snow won't stop!!

"Alright, let's do this."

Arya had used her telekinesis on herself before and this time it was no different.

Soon, she was flying through the air, flying over that minefield. Arya had no clue where it was safe to land so she decided to just keep on flying until she thought it was safe to land.

Arya saw something coming at her in the corner of her eye.

An arrow.

She dodged it.

She figured the arrow came from her left.

But that didn't really matter as a whole rainfall of arrows came flying down at her like birds-of-prey zoning on on a mouse.

A blast of telekinetic force sent all those arrows flying back down to earth.

But then, Arya felt a flash of pain racing through her body. She felt sick and a sharp throbbing pain was coming from…

She looked down at her left hand. It was black and not looking right.

Ah…poison. The knife was poisoned and she caught it with her bare hand.

Arya cursed her carelessness as she lost all control.

She could no longer keep herself suspended in the air anymore and she started to fall back down.
