Chapter 4:I Became Abigail and Started Making Trouble in the multiverse

"rie, I think Ding is right. We can't stay here forever. We need to find a way out. Of course, you're right too, rie—we can't let anyone get bitten again. So, we have to come up with the perfect plan."

Abigail had no interest in joining the three in their discussion about escape plans. After all, the character she was playing didn't need to get involved in these things. She could just sit back and enjoy the benefits of their work.

After some time, the three decided to use a fire hose to take out most of the zombies on the rooftop. Although Ding Muyu felt it was a bit of a waste—after all, they were burning through valuable "God Points"—the other two agreed, and since Ding couldn't come up with a better idea, they went with it.

To earn as many God Points as possible, Ding Muyu suggested that after dealing with the zombies, he would finish them off. Unlike the original plan, they couldn't simply charge through because Abigail's safety had to be considered.

The other two had no objections to this plan.

"It's starting. rie, when I give the signal, open the valve," Ding said.

"I got it," rie replied.

Standing behind a barrier, Komuro Takashi nodded toward Ding Muyu.

Then, Ding Muyu swung a baseball bat hard against the railing.

The loud noise attracted the zombies, drawing them toward the stairs.

"rie, now! Open the valve!"

"Got it!"

Miyamoto Rei quickly turned the valve, and water gushed out.

The force of the water was intense. Komuro Takashi struggled to control the hose with all his might.

Under the strong water pressure, the barrier was pushed open, crashing into the zombies behind it. The zombies fell to the ground and couldn't get back up.

Seeing how easily the zombies were dealt with, Abigail couldn't help but feel like mocking them. These zombies were so weak: slow, fragile, blind, and lacking a sense of smell. Other than strength and numbers, they didn't have much going for them. Compared to zombies created by the T-Virus, they weren't even close.

But for a beginner-level challenge, this difficulty was understandable. Of course, Abigail had no intention of letting this novice challenge be too easy.

The protagonist team wasn't fully assembled yet. They had to wait a bit longer. Abigail hadn't forgotten that she still needed to complete her God Space mission.

Speaking of which, her mission was to protect the protagonist team until the storyline ended. But the third task was to encourage disrupting the plot. What was the purpose of that? If the plot got disrupted, how would the story end?

Suddenly, Abigail understood.

It seemed this "God" had a twisted sense of humor.

While Abigail was pondering, the zombies on the rooftop were completely taken care of.

"Abby, we can go now," Ding Muyu said as her reached out her hand to Abigail.

Of course, Abigail obediently took her hand.

With that, the group left the rooftop and headed downstairs.

As they reached about halfway down, a sudden scream echoed.

"That's... Takagi! rie, Ding, let's hurry!"

"Yeah," Ding agreed.

The group rushed toward the source of the scream.

When they arrived, they saw a pink-haired girl screaming while using a power drill to attack a zombie's head. The zombie was down, but the girl was clearly traumatized.

Abigail took in the scene. There were now three other reincarnators present, besides herself. Saeko Busujima was wielding a katana—no doubt given to her by Jing Tianhua, who was currently struggling to bash a zombie's head with a wooden sword. Upon seeing Abigail, he immediately ran over to her.

Qi Zhou was also there, a burly man who had somehow found a fire axe, using it brutally against nearby zombies. Another was a chubby guy wielding a nail gun to take down zombies.

Aside from these reincarnators, the other three people were missing, their fate unknown.

After a few minutes, the group easily cleared the zombies.

Meanwhile, with the danger gone, Saya Takagi completely broke down. The once-tough high school girl collapsed after the life-threatening crisis. After some comforting from the others, she finally calmed down.

The group then moved to the teacher's office. After barricading the door, they all took a moment to relax.

"Alright, let's hear it. What happened to you all after we got separated? And where did the other three go?" Ding Muyu asked, gathering the reincarnators in a corner.

"After we got separated, I went to the equipment room and found some useful supplies. I ran into those two along the way, and we've been sticking together since. I don't know what happened to the others," Qi Zhou explained, gesturing toward the chubby guy and Saya Takagi.

"You're lucky," Jing Tianhua grumbled. "I had to work hard to find the nurse's office. At least I was lucky enough to meet Saeko-senpai."

"And none of you know what happened to the other three?" Ding asked again.

"No idea. What about you?" Qi Zhou retorted.

"If I knew, I wouldn't be asking," Ding said with a sigh. "It seems we've been separated."

"So what do we do now? Should we go look for them?" Jing Tianhua asked uncertainly.

"Are you crazy? I'm not going to risk my life looking for those guys. As far as we know, they're the main characters, so as long as we stick with them, we'll be fine," Qi Zhou replied flatly.

"Qi Zhou's right. We have no obligation to protect them. If they're lucky, they'll find us. If not..." Ding trailed off, but everyone understood what she meant.

"For now, our priority is to stay alive and earn as many God Points as we can. I suggest we stick to the plot and only engage in close combat with the zombies to earn extra points," Ding proposed.

"I agree. For safety, it's best not to change the plot," Saeko said.

"I don't care about any plot. I'll do whatever I feel like," Qi Zhou grumbled.

"Qi Zhou, if you want to die, don't drag us down with you! Do you have any idea how dangerous it is to change the plot? If you don't want to die, listen to us," Ding snapped.

"You little—!" Qi Zhou clenched his fists, ready to throw a punch, but Ding quickly stopped him and explained the reasoning. Eventually, they came to an agreement.

However, they had forgotten about one person.

Watching them, Abigail casually tossed a chunk of meat out the window.

---

In the teacher's office, the protagonist team watched a news broadcast. The world outside had already fallen. Nowhere was safe.

Given the situation, it seemed all hope was lost.

But humans—or rather, all life—had one innate trait: the will to survive.

"So, what's everyone planning to do now?" Komuro Takashi asked.

"In a world like this, we need to stick together. I suggest we move as a group. Once we've checked on our families, we can find a safe place to settle down," Saeko Busujima suggested.

"I agree. But is there even anywhere safe?" Saya Takagi asked, adjusting her glasses.

"There must be. And if there isn't, we'll create one ourselves. Right, Takashi?" Rei Miyamoto said, gazing affectionately at Komuro.

Abigail rolled her eyes at the two. Seriously, flaunting their relationship in front of a single person like her? She swore she'd burn them both one day.

Besides Abigail, someone else wasn't happy either—Saya Takagi. Seeing the romantic tension between the two, she turned away, only to lock eyes with the chubby guy, Kohta Hirano, who gave her a big smile.

Those two would make a great couple, Abigail thought. Maybe she should use her matchmaking skills to help them out.

"You've made your decision then, Jing? What about the rest of you?" Saeko asked.

"Wherever you go, I'll follow, Saeko-senpai," Jing Tianhua eagerly replied.

"And you, Ding?" Komuro asked, turning to her.

"Since I'm an exchange student with no family here, we'll go wherever you go. Right, Qi Zhou?" Ding turned to the big guy.

"I'm easy. As long as I survive, I'm fine," Qi Zhou grunted.

As for Abigail, no one asked her opinion. After all, she seemed like such a harmless and obedient little mascot.

"Our next goal is to reach the school bus and escape. Everyone, get ready. There's no time to waste. Let's move!" Saeko declared, kicking the door open as everyone rushed out.

With so many people, the zombies in the school building were no match for them.

Protected by the others, Abigail walked along leisurely, like she was on a casual stroll.

Along the way, they even saved a small group of survivors, though Abigail didn't bother to remember how many there were.

When they reached the first floor, a group of zombies blocked their path. The number wasn't huge, but the density was. One wrong move could lead to a bite, and that would be the end.

"What now? Do we break through?" Komuro asked, leading the group.

"No, it's too risky. I noticed earlier that the zombies only respond to sound. Maybe we can sneak past them," Saya suggested.

"Can you guarantee that?" Komuro asked. "If so, you can be the one to prove it

."

Taken aback, Saya hesitated for a moment before stepping forward.

"But if Takagi's theory is correct, it could work in our favor," Saeko Busujima remarked from the side.

"No one can guarantee that. Are we left with no choice but to force our way through the gate?" Rei Miyamoto asked.

"Someone needs to test Takagi's hypothesis..."

"Let me do it!"

Before Saeko could finish her sentence, both Ding Muyu and Jing Tianhua volunteered.

"You two..."

"Let me go. I have a dagger, and even if I'm surrounded, I can handle it," Ding Muyu insisted again.

"Why should you go? In times like this, it's a man's job! Right, Busujima-senpai?" Jing Tianhua retorted.

"There's no need to argue about this. I'll go," Saeko said calmly.

"Stop arguing, everyone. I'm the best choice. I have experience with stealth missions."

Seeing the others eager to go, Ding Muyu decided to act first, taking advantage of the opportunity.

In truth, during their journey earlier, Ding Muyu had earned several points from the "Main God," but she knew it wasn't enough. She needed to seize every opportunity to earn more points.

Slowing her pace, Ding Muyu walked into the middle of the zombie horde. She was already aware of their behavior and remained completely calm. As one zombie passed by, she swiftly slashed its neck, gently lowering its body to the ground.

The "Main God" items were indeed of the highest quality; her dagger remained sharp with no sign of dulling, even after repeated use.

One by one, without interference from Abigail this time, Ding Muyu silently eliminated more than a dozen zombies, clearing a path through the first floor.

She then signaled to the others on the stairs, motioning that it was safe to proceed.

On the way down, Jing Tianhua deliberately stayed at the back, remembering that in the original plot, a fool caused a loud commotion.

In the middle of the group, Abigail watched the door, knowing it was almost time to make its move.

Roar...

Just as everyone reached the door, a deafening roar came from the center of the schoolyard, capturing everyone's attention.

A massive, writhing mass of flesh was roaring, drawing nearby zombies toward it. As they approached, the creature devoured them, assimilating their bodies and growing larger with each bite.

"What is that...?"

Everyone froze at the sight of the monstrous mound of flesh, their pupils contracting in shock, their minds going blank. A primal fear gripped them, compelling them to flee.

If Abigail could describe it, it would be a sharp drop in sanity—pushing them to the brink of madness.

"Ah..."

A sudden scream broke the silence. A girl had snapped. She bolted.

Her scream jolted the others back to reality, but it also attracted the attention of nearby zombies, who immediately swarmed her.

"Damn it! Everyone, run! We need to get out of here before that thing notices us!" Realizing the situation was spiraling out of control, Takashi shouted and took off running.

Following his lead, the rest of the group quickly fled as well.
