A Corpse as Blue as Lapis Lazuli - Chapter 2

Senior Police Officer Zhao Ming is, as I first noticed, was tall compared to how Chinese people are typically presented in most media. He was 164cm tall, with light caramel skin. See, not all natural born Chinese are white, they come in more than one colour. Anyway, Zhao had black hair and brown eyes and was wearing the outfit of the Nanqiao station. I’m not sure why he was so far southeast of his precinct, but regardless, we believed that he could be helpful.

I added a green crystal from a golden box on my belt to my tie and David and I went to the man. Whether he spoke any English or not wouldn’t matter as we had crystals that will allow him to understand us and vice versa.

“Rhombodians!” Zhao announced as we neared. Perfect English too, that was a slight surprise, and his lips matched the words he spoke. Usually, Chinese people would pronounce it slightly differently.

“You’re smart, aren’t yah!” David added.

“Oh, my apologies, you are from the USA?” Zhao asked.
