A Corpse as Blue as Lapis Lazuli - Chapter 16

Long Xing Gangway, 5:01 PM

“Teleporting again, I see.” Wei noted as he saw us come back up to them.

“Are you done on the boat already?” Said his counterpart.

“Yes—” I began to speak.

“Good, then we could go.” Wei interrupted before I could say another word, his reaction was fast, like he had those words ready in advance for when we confirmed that our tasks were finished aboard the Long Xing. In fact, Wei was so far ahead with his thinking and was already moving so he could go up the gangway. Thankfully, his journey came to a halt when David used the plastic handle of his umbrella to trip him. I was honestly surprised that it didn’t break, I wasn’t expecting it to handle the weight of a tripping human, but it survived to see another day.

“What’s the big deal?” Wei, now frustrated, asked.

“I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to stop your bon voyage. We have questions for you both.” David relayed.
