This novel starts intentionally slow through the exposition and world building, everything kicks into gear after the turning point in the latter half of Volume 1, and especially Volume 2, where the tone of the novel shifts. So, I hope you stick with it and enjoy the wild ride!

"He's here again." A young petite woman with chestnut brown hair whispered excitedly to the bar manager.

"Ah, him." He chuckled mischievously, "Shall we let the newbie take over?"

They grinned to each other and the young female bartender turned to a tall girl with long black braids down to the middle of her black and a beautiful curvy figure, "Hey Alden, I need to take a break for a moment, can you watch the bar? You know what to do right?"

Faith set down the glasses she had collected and raised her eyebrow, "Well sure Alice, it isn't rocket science."

"Great! We'll be back in a few." They gave each other a final impish glance and Alice winked at Faith as she passed, "Good luck."
