This novel starts intentionally slow through the exposition and world building, everything kicks into gear after the turning point in the latter half of Volume 1, and especially Volume 2, where the tone of the novel shifts. So, I hope you stick with it and enjoy the wild ride!

"Love! You're awake!" He exclaimed in a panicked voice.

Ezra grabbed her outstretched hand and his cold fingertips flashed in front of her vision as he swiftly felt her head and pulse, mumbling all the while, "Idiot...I can't believe you did that, do you know what could have happened? Honestly, Love. Till and I almost had a heart attack. Well he did, I can't, because, you know, immortal and all - "

"Ezra, stop talking." Love placed her finger against his lips and he promptly closed his mouth sheepishly.

"Sorry, you're tired and - we can talk later, I know things aren't good between us right now, but I want to fix this. If you'll let me." He pulled her hand away and placed it back onto the bed before standing up to walk out of her room.

Love slowly pulled herself up and swung her legs over the side.
