This novel starts intentionally slow through the exposition and the early world and character building, BUT everything kicks into gear after the turning point in the latter half of Volume 1, and especially Volume 2, where the tone of the novel shifts. So, I hope you stick with it and enjoy the wild ride!

"What was that?" Kit broke away, dropping his hands from Casimir's hips.

Casimir groaned in frustration and took a steadying breath to calm his excitement, "I'm sure it was nothing." He inclined his head to the side and listened carefully, "I can't hear anything."

Then he flashed Kit a wide grin, "Except your heart of course, look at me making it race, huh?" He winked at him flirtatiously and Kit grinned back.

"Yes, you do, sometimes." He placed his hands back onto his hips and pulled him closer onto his lap.

"Only sometimes? Then I'm failing miserably." He pouted, wrapping his arms around his shoulders.

He saw the single dimple appear on Kit's cheek and leaned in closer.
