Fireworks

With all the villagers awake and puzzled, Alfie wondered how to calm the soon-to-be rowdy crowd.

Perhaps a demonstration would prove to be best. Over the murmuring crowd, Alfie yelled out, explaining that the explosion was caused by himself.

Looks of confusion, doubt, wonder, and annoyance came from the crowd. To them the only thing that could've caused such an explosion was a rudimentary explosive and what reason would their lord have to use one so early.

Alfie saw the familiar faces of doubts he had seen all the way back in Gaia, time and time again he would turn those faces to awe and reverence.

Similar to before he concentrated a single rotating point of spiritual energy until it became visible to the human eye.

Seeing visible spiritual energy wasn't anything new to the crowd, but seeing it from a lord only a day old was incredible.

Looking at his hands, each finger held a tiny speck of spiritual energy. Since he was putting on a show, Alfie was gonna put in a little extra.

With a single mental command, ten dots of energy flew towards the sky. As the crowd looked up, they lost track of the dots as they had seemingly disappeared from view.

Some even began to wonder if the lord had tricked them with something else. That thought immediately dispelled itself when a large explosion of blue-coated the sky above them.

Soon the aftershock hit them and this time instead of confusion and anxiety they looked towards the sky with astonishment.

Having put on a performance Alfie gave them time to soak in the experience before apologizing to his subjects for waking them up early.

Due to Alfie's spectacle, they were much more reciprocal to his apology. Alfie's plan had worked as intended but even he didn't know the true depth of what he'd shown.

It had been nearly 10,000 years since the introduction of Lords and with the lengthy time since its origin there was a standard that most Lords fell under.

As stated in the book Alfie read previously, most Lords were able to sense and manipulate small amounts of spiritual energy by the end of the month.

Once they were able to enter back into the main universe they would hire a service from a higher star individual to help them with their first star awakening.

Those who couldn't afford such treatments were usually left to themselves taking from one to five years to form their first star. But most wouldn't survive even a few months without their first star awakening.

There did however exist a small handful of people who awakened within the first month of being a Lord.

Those people were known as primordial talents. They gained the name from the fact that their talents were similar to those of the trailblazers of old who invented the very path everyone else walked on.

When a primordial talent first exits the source world the universe will applaud their talents causing an instant reverberating sound into the ears of any sentient being.

For the time being, however, Alfie knew nothing of the true extent of the ability he'd shown.

Seeing as most of the settlement had been awakened by Alfie's earlier display, they began to get ready for the day's work to come.

Looking around, however, Afie noticed that two prominent figures weren't around. Ivory was an elusive guy, mostly doing his own thing without instruction from Alfie.

But Fawn on the other hand should've woken up and reached Alfie as soon as she heard the explosions.

Something was up. Thankfully he had Rina to look up the basic information on all his subjects.

Of all places, she was in his manor?? And where? Alife knew for a fact that she wasn't on his bed so where else?

Driven by curiosity, he walked back to his manor. The inside was dark, and there were no windows to let in natural light.

His bed was at the end of the tiny manor, without accompanying furniture. There was no other place in the whole house to sleep or even hide.

Although only one place remained hidden. Looking underneath his bed, he saw a sprawled Fawn sleeping soundly.

Alfie to be quite honest was a bit weirded out. He now understood why Ivory had called her a fanatic.

Perhaps her intention was to be a guard while he slept but even then she had managed to sleep through 11 entire explosions.

Either way, he couldn't have her sleep under his bed so he began nudging her awake.

Still not fully awake she tried getting up, only to hit her head on the wooden bed frame.

She let out a small yelp before she looked over to Alfie's awkward face.

In a short moment, she slid herself out from underneath his bed with an embarrassed look on her face.

"I'm gonna say this once and only once. Never do that again." Alfie said in a strict tone.

"I'm sorry my Lord… I just wanted to make sure you would be safe for the night." She apologized.

"I know, but that was an intense invasion of privacy. If you want to make sure I'm safe I can ask the builders to build a room in the manor for you. But I want to make it clear that our relationship stops at being friends." Alfie explained.

Fawn nodded her head, apologizing again before heading out to the manor.

Alfie sighed as she walked out, although he appreciated her loyalty this was a step too far. He was a married man and father after all. A terrible husband and father but he was still one nonetheless.

He already wasn't there for his wife and kids so the last thing he needed was to be letting other women think they had a chance with him.

Either way now that he was alone, he had an important matter to attend to. Through his earlier display of his spiritual manipulation, he couldn't help but feel slightly drained.

Despite that, he also felt his star slowly replenishing his stamina. It wasn't that he felt drained of spiritual energy but rather that his stamina in being able to control it was drained.

It was similar yet still quite different. He made a mental note to ask Ivory about it later.

Putting that into the back of his mind, Alfie had one objective in mind at the moment.

His talent of 'Spiritual perfection' was his apparent way out from being a parasite and it was due time he began looking for what that truly entailed.

His status screen mentioned that his talent allowed him divine manipulation of the soul and its related fields, that was his key.
