"Alex, are you alright? You seem... off," she said, her voice laced with worry.

"Just a little stressed, I guess," he said, forcing a smile.

"Is it about the game? You're doing great!"

"It's not the game," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's something else. Something I can't explain."

Mia's eyes widened, and she stepped closer. "You can tell me. I promise I won't judge."

Should I tell her? The thought flickered in his mind, a sliver of hope. But fear quickly crushed it. "No, it's fine. I just need to focus."

As the second half began, he tried to push aside his fears. He played fiercely, but as the final minutes ticked away, the sense of urgency consumed him.

When the final whistle blew, the stadium erupted into cheers. They had won, but all Alex felt was emptiness. The victory was hollow, overshadowed by the knowledge that he couldn't ignore the dreams any longer.
