Chapter 392: Kaminari’s Defeat!

In the dense forest where blue flames raged, a massive pillar of light, over thirty meters tall, shot into the sky. It lasted no more than five seconds before vanishing into the starry Milky Way night sky.

Kaminari gasped, half-crouched in the middle of the clearing. There were no more electric arcs crackling around his body, nor were there any golden flames clinging to him. His once-upright blond hair now drooped in defeat.

Beneath his feet and all around him, the ground glowed red, releasing wisps of rising heat. The thick scent of charred flesh lingered in his mouth and nose.

The entire area had been scorched by the 'God's Sanction attack just moments ago.

If Kaminari hadn't possessed a passive resistance to extreme heat, the soles of his feet and his knees would have already been incinerated.

Even so, his new shoes and the pants covering his lower legs had been completely burned away. Worse still, the battery within his body was nearly depleted.

The reason it wasn't entirely drained was because his body continued to absorb the residual electricity lingering in the air.

"They got away…" Kaminari muttered, his gaze lowered to the scorched ground still lined with streaks of fire. His thoughts were consumed by memories of Kyoka.

From meeting at the school gates during the first entrance exam, to quietly sitting beside her during the final exam, to playing together on I-Island.

"In the end, I still failed to protect the one I cared about…"

Without realizing it, tears welled up and streamed down his face. The crystal drops fell onto the burning-hot earth, instantly vaporizing and drifting up into the night sky.

He had gained the perfect Quirks and immense power, yet he lost his partner. Did he regret the price?

Kaminari questioned himself over and over again: Do you regret it?

But no matter how slightly he opened his mouth, the word "regret" wouldn't come out. He asked himself, if given another chance and knowing the outcome in advance…

Would he still make contact with All For One? Would he choose differently?

And yet, even then, he would probably do it all again—but this time, he would be more cautious. He would stay by Kyoka's side.

"What should I do now…"

He had to admit it—this time, in this forest, Kaminari Denki lost. He lost to the League of Villains. He lost to All For One.

And not just him. U.A. High School lost. Utterly. With the worst possible result.

Due to Vlad King's emergency alert, a large number of police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and over a dozen pro heroes soon arrived at the scene. Two forest firefighting planes were deployed to extinguish the strange blue flames.

More than a dozen of the forty hero course students had fallen unconscious from the toxic gas. Another dozen suffered varying degrees of minor injuries. The pro hero Pixie-Bob suffered a severe head injury.

A student and pro hero, Ragdoll, went missing. On the villains' side, Moonfish, Magne, Spinner, and Mustard were captured by Jung Min.

What shocked U.A. the most—and what drove Midoriya, Bakugo, and the others into despair—was that this time, there were casualties.

Somewhere deep in the forest, firefighters discovered the body of Class B hero course student Kaibara Sen, his arm broken.

The news devastated all the students and teachers of Classes A and B. Vlad King, Class B's homeroom teacher, fell into deep guilt and sorrow, unable to recover.

Everyone present, including the police and emergency responders, knew that after sunrise, a storm would sweep across Japan—and possibly the entire world.

This time, something truly catastrophic had happened...

Before 10 a.m. the next morning, major media outlets that caught wind of the incident had already blocked the front gates of U.A. High.

However, the heroes were well prepared. The gate, reinforced to withstand even tank fire, completely shut out the commotion.

Inside, U.A.'s senior staff were in the middle of an emergency meeting. The air pressure in the conference room was suffocatingly heavy. The death of a student had become their gravest issue.

"This incident has completely shattered society's trust in heroes. Damn it!" the teacher known as Sniper slammed his fists on the table. He and the others had become the greatest failures in hero history.

The principal, seated at the head of the table, wore an unusually grim expression, unable to maintain his usual gentle demeanor.

"How is Vlad King?"

There was a brief silence in the room. Midnight sighed and said, "I had to use 'Sleep Aroma' to forcibly sedate him. But he might never…"

"I understand," the principal interrupted, nodding. He realized he would need to appoint a new homeroom teacher for Class 1-B. His eyes briefly shifted to All Might, who sat silently in deep guilt.

"As for Kaibara's incident, every U.A. teacher and student must publicly apologize to his parents and to society. In addition, we will pay triple the court-ordered compensation."

No one at the table objected to the decision. The principal's apology was not a simple verbal statement—it would involve kneeling and bowing before the public.

Even All Might, the so-called 'Symbol of Peace,' would need to do this. He was now a U.A. teacher.

"Next, we'll prioritize locating and rescuing Class A student Kyoka and pro hero Ragdoll," the principal continued.

Although a student had died, legally, the school bore no criminal liability.

The reason was simple: just as a police academy attacked by terrorists would not be held legally responsible for student casualties, U.A. was not at fault in the eyes of the law.

"Rescue is important, but there's an issue we can't ignore." Present Mic suddenly slapped the table and stood up, his voice filled with fury.

"There's a traitor among us!"

"Only us teachers and the Wild, Wild Pussycats knew the dorm's location! And they're not the only ones who could've leaked it. The students could've used their phones to send out their location!"

Midnight tried to calm him down, urging him not to get emotional. But that only made Present Mic angrier.

"How can we not talk about this?!"

"If the traitor isn't caught, there's going to be a problem during the next rescue operation!"

"So…" the Sniper teacher beside Present Mic raised his hand, "Do you have any proof that you're 100 percent innocent?"

"And how exactly do you plan to find the traitor? U.A. is already under immense external pressure. Do you want us to tear ourselves apart from the inside too?"

The principal nodded and said, "He's right. Turning on each other will only cause us to collapse from within."

"For now, we must set aside the traitor issue, unite to solve the external problems first, and investigate slowly later."

At that moment, All Might received a call from Officer Tsukauchi. He reported that the police may have located the League of Villains.

"Tsukauchi-kun… I've made one incredible friend. When I meet them... I'll say this."

"I'm here to fight back." All Might's body began to expand.
