The Village

They were close to the outskirts of the village. Enri heard the sound of clanking metal from behind her as she ran. It was a rhythmic sound. She looked behind with a prayer in her heart... as expected, it was the worst-case scenario. A knight was chasing the Emmot sisters.

'Just a little further!' Enri took a deep breath and forced herself to soldier on. She had no energy to waste on anything else. Her breathing was rapid, her heart beating hard enough that she felt it would burst, and her legs were shaking mightily. Soon enough, she would be completely exhausted, and she would collapse and not get up.

If she were alone, perhaps she might have lost the strength to run and given up. However, she was holding her little sister's hand. It gave her the energy to run away. The truth was that the powerful desire to save her sister had kept Enri going until now. As she ran, she glanced behind again. The distance between herself and her pursuer had not changed. Even in armor, the man's speed had not decreased. This was the difference between a trained warrior and a village girl.

"So, Demiurge, what do you think our goal in going there is?" I asked while looking at the mirror in front of me. Albedo and Demiurge stood to my right and left, the two trying their best to comprehend my goals for going to this village.

"My lord... my apologies, but I can't comprehend your grand plans," Demiurge said in shame, I looked towards Albedo, and she too had no idea.

I looked back to the mirror and seeing as Enri and her sisters were reaching their limits, I stood up and went on to replace a ring of mine with another ring. The Ring Of Humans. It was a simple item that could give me the appearance of a human, this didn't mean my race had changed, I was still an undead with the appearance of a living breathing, blood-pumping, heat-beating human.

"Well, let's go," I said while putting my white hair into a ponytail. I had yet to gain a human form using my capability, it was hard to multiply Death with Death, I needed more training, so this would do for now.

"Yes," Demiurge said while I went on to open a gate. Albedo remained calm watching me leave... she hated my human form. She thought I looked the best in my undead state, and the fact I would go out of my way to transform for those lower lifeforms... well, it made her hate humans to a whole new level.

I stepped out of the gate, appearing in front of Enri, her little sister, and the knight who came to a sudden stop with my appearance. I looked at Enri, Enri is a fairly beautiful young girl in her mid-teens, lightly fair skin, with blonde hair, and brown eyes. She wears woolen clothes and her hair tied into a braid.

Her younger sister Nemu is a young little girl with reddish-brown hair and brown eyes. She wears woolen clothes and pigtails.

At the moment, Enri was hugging her little sister, shielding her from the blade which was about to ruthlessly fall upon them. But with my arrival, the world had paused, and all eyes were currently on me.

"This would be my first kill..." I said while pointing a finger at the knight. I cast a simple spell [Magic Arrow], it was a tier 1 spell, a super weak spell... but in my hands, it was equal to a tier 9 spell, and thanks to the [The End] Job class, they carried an instant death effect... well, let me give you the information on the spell [Magic Arrow]

[Magic Arrow]- A 1st tier spell that allows the user to shoot out an arrow made of mana that will pierce a target. Unlike regular arrows, [Magic Arrows] were guaranteed to hit independent of the evoker's skills. Casting it at a higher tier would increase the amount of projectiles generated as well as the individual damage output of each projectile. Even so, a single projectile's damage output was still minuscule. It was pretty much impossible for them to one-shot their enemies with a single cast. The damage output of the spell did not depend on where the enemy was struck.

I only created one arrow, but like the normal-looking arrow, my was pure black and came off with a dark aura. With a flash, the arrow shot forward at a speed that not even Demiurge would keep up with. The Knight was killed with just one hit, in fact, the arrow didn't stop, as it kept flying forward, hitting another knight who had frozen in shock with the arrival of the new person before I allowed it to disappear.

I pointed towards the now lifeless body, and before the sisters' horrified eyes, a magic circle appeared under the lifeless body. The lifeless body began to transform, molding, and reshaping into a Death Knight.

"Go, kill everyone with that armor," I said while pointing towards the second knight, I wanted to see if the death knight would do such a complex task. The death knight didn't waste time, running off to the village to start a slaughter.

Death Knights were monsters at level 35, but thanks to it being summoned by me, it was equal to a level 45 monster.

"You seem to be injured, do you know what this is?" I asked while getting to one knee so I could look at Enri in the eyes while pulling out a low-level potion.

"B-blood?" Enri asked in fear, to which I raised an eyebrow. I looked at the blood-red potion in my hands, lost in thought.

'Are potions not a thing in this world, or do they come in different colors?' I thought my mind racing with the possibilities of this world.

"No, this isn't blood, but a potion. You have heard of such a thing, right?" I asked to which Enri nodded lightly,

"Yes, yes I do. The alchemist who comes by our village... but the potions he makes are blue." She said to which I nodded lightly in understanding.

"Well, the potion I have is red, I wouldn't save you to poison you or drink blood. Go on, I have a village to save." I said to which Enri although scared, she choice to believe her saver. She took the potion and went on to drink it all... and to her shock, the cut on her back disappeared the following second.

"You two stay here, I will give you these two horns. It's the Horns of the Goblin General. With this, you can summon a group of goblins that would be completely loyal to you." I said while giving her the horns,

"T-thank you," Enri said with a gentle blush seeing my gentle smile. I nodded at her, and left towards the village, with Demiurge following behind, looking at everything and trying to comprehend it all.

"W-wait, can I please know the person who saved us?" Enri asked causing me to pause for some time. This should be where Momonga changed his name to Ainz Ooal Gown... I liked the name Ainz Ooal Gown more than the name Momonga, so I went on to have her call me Ainz Ooal Gown.

By the time we arrived in the village, I wasn't shocked to find that the Death Knight had played with the knights. Any knights that the Death Knight killed turned into undead that followed the Death Knight's will.

"Demiurge, when I allow them to leave, have someone capture them all and take them back to Nazarick for questioning," I said to Demiurge who nodded at my words, before stepping away to get to work.

"Enough Death Knight!" I called out while stepping forward, and instantly the Death Knight stopped and came to stand at my side. I looked at everyone there, all of the knights were horrified and scared seeing I was controlling the monster that was toying with them. The Death Knight had enjoyed giving them a slow and painful death, something which would surely leave them with great trauma after today.

"Leave, this village is now under my protection," I said with narrowed eyes, and the knights wasted no time in fleeing with all of their might. As they left, I turned my eyes to the villagers, I looked around for some time, before I soon saw someone I knew to be the Village head walking towards me...

And so we talked, and I instantly realized these guys were uneasy with me. So, to fix this I went on to make up a story. I was a mage from hundreds of years ago who had stepped back into the world after years of training.

With my return, I wanted a place to stay, so I planned to have a small place in this village to be known as my home. I made it clear I had no plans to run the village, I would leave the village and come at random, so although I have a home here, I might end up forgetting about it later down the road. While I was at it, I had the village head give me more in-depth information about this world, before I met up with Demiurge...
