Piper’s POV
“Please- don't shut the door.”
I mumble, staring at his light brown eyes. Only now do I realize how unique his features are. Just as his personality, he's breathtaking.
To reinforce my statement, I press the side of my body to the door frame.
“Why would I?”
He ruffles my feathers.
Leaning on the door frame as myself, but in the other direction, he keeps my eye gaze, waiting for me to respond.
“I don't know.”
I shrug.
“I've not been the best neighbor, nor fair to you, so…”
I exhale slowly, but loud enough for him to see my anxiety crawl all over my skin.
In a sundress, I'm cladded, holding a fruit basket and chocolate, just as he brought me. Hopefully, he doesn't return the favor and smash them in my face.
“I thought we've made up.”
“You tell me.”
I lick my lower lips, locking my eyes on the fruit basket.
If only he knew that none of my words of apology were genuine. Well, if he believes it, I guess it could work.
