Now that Jaxon has appeared and is able to defeat Flash, Mary Jane sees hope.

Gwen was the same, as kne is her good friend Mary Jane, and the other is Jaxon.

Betty seemed optimistic about the two of them and immediately supported Mary Jane, "Yeah, if Jaxon becomes your boyfriend, Flash won't be able to compete with him."

Gwen didn't resist, "This is a good way to get rid of Flash, but it depends on Jaxon's opinion."

The key to the problem lies with Jaxon.

Pretend boyfriend?

Jaxon was even confident that he could make the fake become real.

Before Spider-Man, he had already intercepted Mary Jane and gained a lot of destiny points.

However, Jaxon's first target was Gwen, so he also wanted to test her reaction.

"Mary Jane, I don't think anyone would reject a beauty like you unless they're a fool."

"I'm also confident that I'll be able to attract you in the future."

"It's just that the person I like is Gwen, and I was planning to pursue her."

"If I pretend to be your boyfriend, I'm afraid Gwen might misunderstand."

Jaxon's words shocked the three women present.

Betty and Mary Jane both turned their attention to Gwen, who looked a bit embarrassed.

Although Gwen had a slight liking for Jaxon, she didn't fully return those feelings yet.

At this moment, she was both surprised and flustered by Jaxon's sudden confession.

"Well, I think I won't misunderstand."

"Mary Jane is my friend too, and I'd be happy if you could help her."

In that case, Jaxon had nothing more to say.

"I have no objection, as long as Gwen doesn't misunderstand, and it doesn't affect my pursuit of her."

Although Mary Jane felt a little jealous, she quickly recovered.

The three of them had a good relationship and even formed a band together.

Mary Jane also figured it out. She just needed a fake boyfriend to get rid of Flash.

"Thank you, Jaxon."

"It won't take too long. We just have to wait until graduation, and Flash won't get another chance."

"If you want to pursue Gwen, maybe I can help you come up with some ideas."

Gwen pretended to be surprised, "Mary Jane, are you serious? We're friends."

"Jaxon is great, isn't he? If you don't like him, I definitely won't miss out on him."

After chatting for a while, Mary Jane felt a little uncomfortable, "I'm going to the bathroom."

The remaining three continued talking, and after a while, Mary Jane came back from the bathroom.

As she walked back to her seat, her foot suddenly slipped, and she started falling backward, about to hit the corner of the table.

If she fell, she would most likely hit the table, which was quite dangerous.

Jaxon reacted quickly.

The moment he saw Mary Jane slipping, he took action.

He stood up, took a step toward her, and reached out just in time to catch her before she fell.

Jaxon's speed was so fast that Gwen and Betty couldn't react in time.

Mary Jane thought she was about to hit the floor, but was surprised to find herself in Jaxon's arms instead.

"Are you okay?"

Mary Jane's heart had been racing, and it hadn't calmed down yet.

She realized she was being held by Jaxon in a rather intimate position, but she didn't mind at all.

"Thank you, Jaxon!"

"You're welcome."

Jaxon helped Mary Jane stand up, and she quickly regained her composure.

"It was really scary just now. Thank you, my boyfriend. I think I should give you a reward."

Jaxon wondered what kind of reward she had in mind, when suddenly, Mary Jane leaned in and gave him a light kiss on the lips.

"Hey! Wasn't he you fake boyfriend!"

"That's right! You are clearly enjoying this fake relationship!"

Both Gwen and Betty said with jealousy, they knew Mary kissed Jaxon to tease them.

"Tehe~ He is my boyfriend, so I can kiss him at least." Mary replied in a teasing tone.

Even after Mary Jane pulled away, Jaxon was still lost in the moment.

As she turned to leave, he noticed Peter Parker standing at the door of the coffee shop, looking dazed.

Jaxon didn't know when Peter had arrived, but judging by his expression, he hadn't been there for long and had probably seen everything.

Looking at Peter's expression, Jaxon's mind automatically played some tragic background music.

---

After school, Peter had accidentally noticed Mary Jane heading somewhere.

He thought she was going home, so he decided to follow her.

After seeing her enter a coffee shop, Peter hesitated for a moment at the door but eventually decided to go inside, hoping to buy a coffee and perhaps have a chance encounter with her.

However, when Peter entered, he didn't immediately see Mary Jane. Instead, he saw Jaxon, Gwen, and Betty chatting happily.

After ordering a coffee at the counter, he finally spotted Mary Jane.

Peter had already begun thinking about how to greet her.

But before he could say hello, he saw what had just transpired.

Mary Jane almost fell, and Jaxon saved her.

If it had just been that, Peter wouldn't have thought much of it.

However, Mary Jane's kiss clearly went beyond simple gratitude or friendship.

"How… how could this happen?"

"Mary Jane and Jaxon… are so close."

"Should I have stayed outside?"

Peter felt a deep sense of disappointment. His hopes of starting a relationship with Mary Jane were crushed before they even had a chance.

Yet, Peter still clung to the last shred of hope.

"Your coffee, sir."

"Sir!"

The clerk's voice snapped Peter back to reality. He glanced at the coffee in front of him, picked it up, and sat in a corner.

Peter was used to drinking bitter coffee.

But today, the coffee tasted even more bitter, laced with heartbreak.

Watching Jaxon, Mary Jane, and the others, Peter felt completely out of place.

Human joys and sorrows are not the same. He only felt how noisy and distant they seemed.

Peter thought about leaving, but in the end, he stayed.

Half an hour passed.

Betty checked the time, "Sorry, I have something else to do. I need to head home."

Jaxon agreed, "It's getting late. It was great spending time with you three lovely ladies today."

Mary Jane added, "Jaxon, it seems you forgot something."

"Ah, yes, I have a girlfriend now, which is worth celebrating."

Jaxon wrapped his arm around Mary Jane, and the two acted like a real couple, their affection for each other evident.

The group left the coffee shop one after another. Since they lived in different places, they naturally went their separate ways.

Betty said her goodbyes and left first.

Gwen followed shortly after, leaving only Jaxon and Mary Jane.

"See you tomorrow, my boyfriend!"

"See you tomorrow." Mary Jane walked away gracefully.

As Jaxon was about to leave, he saw Peter Parker walking out the door.

Peter had witnessed the entire scene between Jaxon and Mary Jane.

Jaxon couldn't help but mentally play the tragic background music again: "Snowflakes are flying, the north wind is howling!"

Jaxon was slightly surprised, "No system prompt? Maybe it's because Mary Jane and I are just pretending to be a couple and haven't fully changed her fate?"

"Or…"

He said and walked towards Peter in hurry.

"Hi, if I remember correctly, we're classmates, and you sit to my left."

"My name is Jaxon. You can call me Jax. Gwen and the others do."

Peter was flustered, "Hello, I'm Peter Parker. Just call me Peter."

"See you tomorrow, Peter."

Jaxon simply wanted to formally introduce himself to Spider-Man and become friends.

He had thought about preventing Peter from becoming Spider-Man, which could have earned him more destiny points.

But Jaxon didn't plan to interfere with Peter's fate.

While Jaxon was eager to gain more points, he wasn't willing to mess with Peter's destiny—unless it involved a beautiful woman.

Jaxon was about to leave when Peter suddenly summoned the courage to stop him.

"Jaxon!"

Jaxon turned to look at Peter, puzzled, "What's up, Peter?"

Peter hesitated for a long time before finally speaking, "I saw you and Mary Jane earlier. You two seemed… close."

Jaxon understood what Peter was asking and replied straightforwardly, "You're not mistaken. Mary Jane is my girlfriend now."

"Oh… congrats."

Hearing the confirmation, Peter's heart sank, and he left in a daze.

"I was here first. Jaxon has only known Mary Jane for less than a day."

"Damn it, if only I had been brave enough to ask her out for coffee first."

"I've lost Mary Jane."

"Jaxon's way better than me, that's for sure."

Peter sat at the bus stop, lost in his thoughts.

He didn't even realize when the bus arrived and left.

"Wait, what?"
